the first two eps were fire and then boring lie and miscommunication

I'm not really satisfied with how the drama came out, the expectations were completely different. I was waiting for a dynamic that was completely unusual for Korea, which we kind of got in the first two episodes and it seemed like it would be cool to continue at the same pace, but everything went wrong. They dragged out the lie for too long, mixing in SeonU's sudden feelings for DaRim. And they were dragging it out a lot, I just wanted to exhale and see a new situation on the screen and not Naturel Bebe's office.
How Ji Hyeok suffered throughout the drama…my soul ached for him. He put in so much effort and it felt like it's all for nothing. I also understand Darim's position that there was nothing else for her to do at that time in her life, but there were moments when she really behaved cruelly towards Jihyeok.
The ending is a complete disappointment! for some reason they chose the worst cliches and showed them in the final episode, when the only thing the viewer wanted was more happy and sweet moments. Because of this, the last 10-15 minutes looked like short fragments of main leads life, so that the audience would get the story told, but it doesn't seem to me that it was a good idea.
I'm really disappointed with the drama, it had a lot of potential, I was especially waiting for it because of the splashing chemistry of Ki Yong and Ahn EunJin, I really love them separately, they’re talented actors and also they look so beautiful together! But the plot sagged and ruined the whole highlight of the drama. However, I'm happy that we finally got a happy ending! Anyway, I recommend watching it, because you shouldn't miss such chemistry between these two!

Cliche but very good

I don't understand why "Dynamite Kiss" has received so many low ratings. It is quite clichéd, and I am still unsure about the actresses' full range of acting. However, overall, it was a very nice drama. I love how the group of mothers of different ages came together to work, showing that they are more than just mothers. They sort of reclaimed their identity, which can often be overshadowed by their roles as mothers.
It's light and positive, with great chemistry between the first lead and the second couple, who were also very interesting. I wish there had been a bit more development regarding the sister's storyline, but I really enjoyed this drama and kept clicking "next" for more episodes.

Looks like we are finally back in the old Kdrama era

The first thing that came to my mind while watching the drama was- it was giving old Kdrama vibes. It was pure nostalgia as if I was rewatching all those dramas that introduced me to this whole new world decades ago. If I could compare it to more recent drama then 'The business proposal' is the closest one in terms of plot and fluffy rom-com feel.
But it isn't the plot that will make to glued to it. It is the acting and chemistry of our main lead. They felt so believable and relatable especially in the beginning. It is simply a Chaebol drama , "rich man poor woman." but you will still watch it because it is so damn entertaining. The dialogues are hilarious, acting is just perfect. Honestly this was the sort of vibe that I was missing badly from all the recent Kdramas. They were following more western style and sort of loosing their own essence in the race. (Though I can't complain about every single one of them. Some were exceptionally good but that is just my p.o.v. and one can have different opinion over it.) Honestly it was 9.5 rating drama for me but towards the middle it began to lose its maturity and relatability which I loved in the beginning and then I thought it is one of those kdramas which you can only enjoy if you don't try to find logic. But for me it would have been perfect if ML's character was shown more reasonable and less coercive. In the beginning his behaviour felt hilarious, then it became annoying a little. Even FL, who was portrayed really cool/mature and relatable in the beginning began to turn into cliched clueless kdrama FL. For me it started really very well in the beginning but began to fizzle out towards the end as it began to turn its characters little cheesy for my taste. Overall it is a good fluffy rom-com one time watch kdrama for sure.
(Btw was I the only one who was taken aback for a moment because sml really looked like Jin.)

Unwatchable

I can't believe that even in 2025 almost 2026 we still have these kinds of awfully made clichés.

The first episodes were absolutely amazing and fun but they didn't know how to make an actual good plot without the MCs being completely oblivious and dumb. You really want me to believe a 30 year would be so naive, dumb and fragile like a child, after everything she went through?

I can overlook Darim lying about being married and having a child because she NEEDS to get a job asap but Jyheok being a bully to a girl that just walked out of his bedroom, like being actually manipulative and abusive is where I cross the line. That scene where he throws the paper to pool after Darim and the MF team worked hard on it was straigh up abuse... and not only that but Darim jumping into the pool and then him rescuing her and being "the hero" was just manipulation. I thought we left that in 2015 my goodness....

I didn't even finish it, I really tried to pull through but it just unwatchable. I skipped episode 13 and I still didn't miss anything important. I didn't even finish watching episode 14 after they pull out Jyheok's accident and him loosing his memories just RIGHT before meeting Darim, that was probably the worst plot EVER, what a horrible way to finish.

There are so many plot holes as well, Darim's sister never being mentioned again, we never know about Jun's mom, making Seonu "fall in love" with Darim is just lazy writing, they've been friends for 20 years but he sees her with someone and automatically he loves her more than a friend? That's bullshit right there. They could've expanded his character in a much better way like, idk, him being a widowed or having a horrible divorce and that he lost his greatest love and is difficult for him to love again and that's why is difficult for him to accept Hayeong (and not including Darim is his love dilemma).

To sum up, it isn't worth your time unless you like to pretend people (ADULTS) are that stupid and just continue watching

Must watch!

Dynamite Kiss is an intriguing tale of forbidden love between a woman who desperately needs swimming lessons, and a man who likes shouting in people's faces.

He also does a lot of running, swimming and martial arts where he has to fight old tires with a stick. Sometimes he turns into a middle-aged accountant with glasses and a bad temper, or he can’t even remember her at all.

Nevertheless, she’s attracted to this hot mess and doesn’t notice any red-flags, which is the genius of k-drama.

EXCELLENT ... UP TO A POINT.

The first ⅔ of this series was excellent, fun, compelling, perfect proportions of drama, angst and comedy. The last ⅓ was ... not. It felt like they were trying to cram far too much into the last few episodes. Had some very funny scenes, but not enough to overcome the disappointment with what seemed to be half-baked endings.

Give me a break

This drama had a very good beginning, I really enjoyed the first few episodes and was excited but what was that ending.

Nothing needed you to make the ML get amnesia and the way they made him remember the FL was horrible. The first half of the drama had everything well planned, it had the perfect amount of cliches and scope for characters growth but the second half did not make any sense to me. They could have given more effort in writing the second half specially the last few episodes.

The second leads like give them a proper plot if you want to put them there, what was that "Hi, we are there" and then like just no development or anything. The ML hates his father but the more you watch it you realise he is turning into his father. The FL's sister????? WHAT WAS THAT? WHY WERE YOU THERE? Anyways like overall both the leads have far better dramas, they did not need this bad script.

Now they want me to give this a re-watch value otherwise I can't post my review so giving this 1 but this has zero re-watch value.

Before The Good Bye...

Jin, no matter how much I love you, I have to be honest: you were born to have an acting career like IU's, few roles, well-chosen, where you dissect every characteristic of the character and bring them to life. The idea for the drama was perfect from the beginning. If they had found another way to reunite them after that encounter that didn't involve leaving us with episode after episode at the company with the silly subplot of the ditzy sister trying to sabotage the protagonist who doesn't even care about her, it would have been sooooo much better.

Explosive

Chemistry is on point. The drama is not predictable and the male lead is extremely funny. There were no dull moments. All the casts did very well in portraying their character. I highly recommend this drama. Also the behind the scenes were as sweeter as the real drama itself. This drama makes you want to fall in love again.

Finally a great Rom-Com!

It's been a dreadful year for Kdramas... so much so that I find myself watching more and more Cdramas. Something has been lost in the world of Kdramas for the past year or more. The stories are flat and uninspiring, and I just cannot bring myself to suffer through the majority of them.

I love both of these actors so I decided to give them one a chance, and I am so happy I did. I am 2 episodes in, and have high hopes for this one. It has strong Cinderella vibes and I am always a sucker for that trope. ✨️ So far the chemistry between our lead couple is through the roof, and the storyline is intriguing enough to have me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode to release.

Here is to hoping the writers manage to keep this up for the next 12 episodes!

Episodes 4 Update:
Still going strong! So far this is peak Kdrama territory for me. Shows like this are what made me fall in love with Kdramas, and it is so heartening to see that they are still capable of putting something like this out! I cannot overstate how depressing the output of Kdramas has been over the past year plus.

I love our lead couple here. while the premise of their misunderstanding could be annoying, the writers have deftly crafted a storyline that keeps the romantic tension between the leads at the forefront. There chemistry is fantastic and I cannot wait to see the rest of their story unfold!

A Sweet Romance Carried by Its Leads ✨

“It's such a blessing to love someone wholeheartedly.” Indeed, that perfectly reflects what Jin Hyeok and Da Rim are to each other. Both carry heavy emotional baggage because of their families, yet being together somehow makes those burdens lighter.

Their time in Jeju Island became an unexpected source of healing, though it ended too soon. Even when they met again as employer and employee, things were far from simple—especially with Da Rim hiding the fact that she lied about being married.

What truly stands out in this show is its cast. Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin delivered one of the sweetest romantic comedy pairings I’ve seen so far. Even if the series itself may be forgettable in some aspects, their chemistry made it easy to finish and genuinely enjoy. I especially liked the “hide-and-seek” around the female lead’s fake civil status because it revealed what kind of man Jin Hyeok truly is—a gentleman who tries to stay on his own path despite being clearly in love with her.

I’m also among the minority who appreciated the second male lead. He was never a distraction to the story; he naturally belonged in it. Rather than forcing his way into the romance, he was pulled into the situation by the female lead herself. Contrary to what others say, he simply fulfilled the role of a second male lead: he fought for his feelings without forcing them, and he remained understanding and open-minded, much like the male lead. The same can be said for his female counterpart—they added to the story without overshadowing the main couple.

While the romance itself is easily five-star worthy for me, the final two episodes suddenly felt disconnected from the drama’s main arc. I understood the business sabotage angle, but it felt rushed, as if it was added only to say that part of the story existed, even when the logic felt weak. The amnesia arc gave the same impression.

Although I often dislike how some dramas stretch into traditional 16–24 episode formats, in the case of Dynamite Kiss, it would have been stronger if it had stayed within the newer 12-episode format. Omitting the last two episodes would have easily earned a much higher score from me.

Another cast wasted by the writers

This drama started strong with its first two episodes but it began to decline from then on and I think it’s all the writers’ fault. Many unnecessary plots and cliches like the love triangle and the memory loss in the last episode were completely unnecessary, as was the scene where Godarim is slapped by the CEO (?).
Also, while I loved Godarim’s character, her inability to read the room when it came to her friend and Jihyeok was simply frustrating as was Seonu’s character. It’s another rom-com that starts well but the writers falter as the episodes progress.
However, it wasn’t all bad. The acting was good, as was the OST and the chemistry between the leads is incredible but wasted. As a rom-com fan, I enjoyed it and it was really fun but there were several moments where I wanted to drop it because I really didn’t understand where they were going with the story.
I think it’s a good drama to pass the time if you don’t have too many expectations like I did but as I always say, it’s just my opinion. I definitely think you should watch it and give it a chance.
