Started for Jang Ki-yong, Stayed for Everyone
I was really excited to watch this drama, and it turned out to be one of those rare ones I could finish without getting bored at all. I first started watching it for Jang Ki Yong, but I quickly realized that everyone in this drama was exceptional.Ahn Eun Jin is such a strong actress with her own unique charm, I truly enjoyed watching her. I also loved all the mothers in the drama, and even the colleagues felt realistic and warm.
The second female lead, Woo Da Vi, really stood out. She was excellent, and I honestly think she can become a first lead very soon. Her scenes with her mother were beautiful, and her mother storyline with Kim Mu Jun was sweet, natural
Overall, this was a happy, feel-good drama with no unnecessary dragging, great side characters, and smooth pacing. I loved it, and the last dance was the perfect ending.

Wash out
Episodes 1& 2 were so good. Sexy. Mature sexy. Not cornball. I mean they were in bed and not fully clothed. Oh my!!But then each episode got more campy, juvenile and aimless. The FL show absolutely no affection for ML. No incremental evolution towards any attraction. And the various marketing campaigns they work on follow an expectation of difficult to overcome and then winning. So disappointed and can we cut out a few of FL friend puppy dog childhood love for her with no clue by FL.
BOO!!

Why
Loved this drama, apart from the ending! They really did rush it and it just felt like it wasn't written out nicely, we never got to see what happened to Da Rim's sister I mean she went to Jeju to find her then that line was dropped, Ji Hyeok's ridiculous amnesia trope felt unnecessary, and then to top it off we didn't see any proposal, wedding, pregnancies or how she got to her business etc very disappointing this could've been so much better! Was this review helpful to you?
Wasted Potential
Dynamite Kiss actually started really good. It was chaotic and fast-moving, and the leads clicked almost instantly. But after episode three or four, it started getting a bit boring. Towards the last few episodes, I was honestly just skipping through. I think the main reason was the same old cliché K-drama scenes — the chaebol boy, poor girl storyline that we’ve seen so many times already.
And I’m not even going to talk about the controversial trope of the female lead being married and the male lead knowing about it, and yet they were still… you know, getting closer. It just made me uncomfortable.
The only thing that actually kept me going with this drama was the chemistry between the main leads. They looked really good on screen — like a mature, natural couple — and that part genuinely worked for me.
I also want to mention the second male lead because I really, really wish they had shown him only as a friend. We could’ve had such a great friendship dynamic there. And honestly, we might’ve even gotten more proper romance for the second couple instead of them getting together only in the last episode.
So overall, this drama did disappoint me a bit. But honestly… that’s kind of how this entire year of K-dramas has been for me anyway.

Best romcom I’ve watched in a whileee!
These comments are so silly! If anyone hasn’t watched this yet, Dynamite Kiss is the best romcom that has come out of Korean Netflix for a while, so pleaseee watch! I’m saying this as a mostly thriller/action kdrama fan. AHHH it’s such a cute drama and I love how the main lead likes her right from the first episode - makes it more interesting! I’m on ep 11 but I’m sure I’ll love the rest of the story. I feel like the high ranking on Netflix says everything <3I’ll write a full review when I’m finished watching the drama

Overstuffed Plot and Unnecessary Drama
I had really high hopes for this show when it started. I loved the first episode, but it quickly went downhill for me. I’m just not a fan of misunderstanding-based plots, and this show took it way further than normal. It was misunderstanding after misunderstanding, and then on top of that they ended it with amnesia. I genuinely don’t understand why all of that was necessary. The show would have been just as good without the amnesia and constant misunderstandings. For me, it completely ruined the experience.I also really disliked the female lead. I felt like the show kept downplaying how toxic her behavior was. She constantly lied to and deceived him to his face, hurt him on purpose over and over again, and said really cruel things to him. From the very beginning, he was the only one actually fighting for the relationship and making any effort from the first day they met. She never really tried. Instead, she kept lying and attempting to break up multiple times. It wasn’t until the very last episode that she finally showed even a bit of effort, which felt far too late.
I also agree with other reviews about the villains. They were completely useless and poorly written. There was just way too much going on in this show. It would have been much better if they had picked one or two plot points and stuck with them. Instead, they tried to cram in everything: abusive parents, abandonment issues, a sick mother, suicide attempts, corporate power struggles, jealous siblings, misunderstandings, amnesia, jealousy, love triangles, love squares… it was exhausting.
Overall, I can’t recommend this one. It’s better to skip it.

It was a nice change to see some progresiveness
Good things happened so early and naturally that I was surprised. Also some great characters.Let's see,
Yes after the 10th episode things fell down to the cliche hall. I started having physical discomfort when the half sister manipulated Da-rim to leave. Fast forwarded the mandatory break up scene. Got entertained when they announce the best person to be the CEO was a woman living in a hospital for the last 10 years. Like even if it was falsely done and her mental health was good, is it that easy to return as CEO but ok. I laughed my head off when the car accident happened and then. after that a memory loss was again mandatory.
But none of that matters much I think, because the first half of it was light, happy and warm. Jang ki young was so cute with his mimics. His energy was amazing.
Though the star was Yoo ha yeong for me. Such a refreshing side character that didn't hooked up on the ML blindly. Her story was so fun to watch.
But the best thing about this show was how the kissing and sleeping together weren't a big thing. They just happened, not much thought on it. Two adults met and liked each other and they were making out in a bed on the day after in a vacation place. So normal yet hard to see in a show. And also in the first episodes. So I'm adding extra points.
It was a nice change to see the timeline reversed. I'm accepting that nothing is perfect and grateful for this much freshness that I can overlook the last episodes bombed with cliches.

A trope salad in the making
One of the most dramatic ratings spirals ever. I'd probably give the first two episodes a 8/10, while the finale is a generous 1/10.It's a real shame because the drama stole my heart in the first two episodes, when it wasn't afraid to be really loud and fun. The fearlessness towards physical intimacy was extremely refreshing, and the best part was that it made use of the great chemistry between the leads.
A few episodes later, I was still pretty locked in, but by now it felt that the drama was stronger in its quieter moments — a tense moment where the leads let the mask slip just a tiny bit, or Ji-hyeok's internal turmoil as the misunderstanding spirals further, etc. The other moments — like the female lead getting lost in the woods and needing to be saved, or getting kidnapped by loan sharks — at this point, those plot points are so recycled it doesn't add anything to the characters or the story.
I was nervous about this fun show becoming trope salad as it added more and more of those types of scenes, switching its focus to a typical corporate warfare plot that I didn't care much about, while making its leads go through the typical moments of poor girl/rich boy.
And it completely falls apart in the last episode, leaving our second couple in the dust with zero development, and rushing our leads through a Car of Doom and amnesia plot — which I cannot believe we are still doing, unironically, in the year of our lord 2025.

Boring
The ending lacked the emotional payoff that a drama with such potential should have provided. Moments that should have felt heartfelt instead came across as abrupt. It was as though the story tried to wrap up too many loose ends in too little time, resulting in an ending that felt messy and unsatisfying. For many viewers, this final episode confirmed that the drama had lost its way long before it ended.Overall, while the drama started with promise, it struggled to maintain its quality. The slow pacing, inconsistent writing, and disappointing ending made it far from worth the watch.

So much wasted potential.
I am new to this forum and my positive reviews will soon outnumber my negative ones—I promise. ꒰ღ˘‿˘ற꒱❤⃛
My gateway into kdrama romcom was King the Land.
Permission kiss?
Oh. My. Goodness.
Well worth waiting until episode nine.
Because This is My First Life—
Be honest, who doesn’t need a kissing tutorial after spending the day making kimchi?
Dynamite Kiss was a major disappointment after such a fun start.
The ‘let’s try it again moment’? Stellar.
I counted it as unfinished because I fast forwarded through the last few episodes and this is where the spoiler part comes in— What a waste of time ending.
Honestly, I am a sucker for the tropes.
Girl, trip in those high heels right into his arms.
Face blindness? Go for it.
But the last minute amnesia arc in DK seemed like the writers were just too bored to even try.
What happened to the sister?!? Nevermind. Enough.
Moving on.
My palate cleanse will be rewatching my favorite episodes of Her Private Life.
Maybe I’ll start with the sleepover in the photographer’s cabin. Or possibly the blindfold scene?¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I may just head right on into the workshop 🤗
