Clichè certified
I started Dynamite Kiss knowing it would be cliché, but since I hadn’t watched this type of drama in a long time, I actually found it kinda entertaining in the beginning. It had funny, frustrating, and emotional moments (like when they talked about their mothers outside the hospital).
But by the middle, I lost interest and started fast-forwarding through a lot of scenes. The misunderstandings, dragged-out emotional moments, repeated flashbacks, and lack of communication became too predictable. I also wasn’t really feeling the chemistry between Ji Hyeok and Da Rim.
Da Rim’s constant clumsiness got irritating quickly. The unnecessary love triangle was another weak point. I honestly think Seonu and Ha Yeong had potential if the writers focused more on their bond instead of making both male leads revolve around Da Rim. Or they could’ve paired Ha Yeong with Ji Hyeok since they came from similar backgrounds. But overall, the drama sticks very closely to the usual rich ML/poor clumsy FL clichés and doesn’t really try anything original.
Yu Tae Yeong was infuriating, so watching him finally get beaten up by his cellmates was satisfying. Ji Hyeok’s sister was also frustrating because she kept falling for obvious traps.
On the emotional side, In Ae recovering and becoming the head of the company again was touching.
The ending was disappointing though. Adding amnesia and another accident in the final episode felt unnecessary and cliché, and overall the ending just wasn’t memorable.

Fairy tale gone wrong but Better than the reviews
If you care about romance, emotional payoff, devotion, and actually feeling something while you watch, then I don’t agree with the way people completely dragged this drama. Is it flawed? Absolutely. Is it a 5.5? No way.For me, this landed closer to a 7.5–8/10. I liked a lot. I hated a lot. But I was still invested, still emotional, and still thinking about it after it ended — and that counts for something.
LIKES
The opening pace was almost perfect. Not rushed, not dragging. It immediately made me want to keep watching.
That first kiss was INSANE. Perfectly filmed, perfectly timed, everyone looked amazing. My jaw was literally on the floor.
The whole setup felt like a modern Cinderella story — one magical moment, she disappears, and he spends the rest of the drama searching for her. I loved that parallel.
It genuinely felt like a fairy tale at times, especially early on.
I loved how relatable the female lead’s situation was — struggling with work, feeling behind in life, trying to survive adulthood.
I was relieved they didn’t make the lies painfully tragic right away. Turning something that could have been devastating into something lighter made it easier to watch, especially because I felt so bad for him.
I like when writers take heavy situations and make them funny instead of torturing the audience. That helped me stick with it.
Around episode 6, it finally slowed down enough for emotions to breathe, and she started falling for him — that helped a lot.
I loved that the second female lead wasn’t written as a villain. She was confident, kind, and honestly someone I could admire. That’s rare.
One of my favorite things: people actually talked. They explained themselves. The male lead listened. No instant assumptions, no screaming matches. That was refreshing.
The bed scene was one of the most romantic I’ve ever seen — not sexual, just beautiful. It felt like a fairytale ending dance scene.
His devotion was top-tier. Full protection mode 24/7. Completely smitten.
The directing and color grading were gorgeous. The hospital montage where time passed while he cared for her was especially well done — it really made you feel like you were there.
I liked the amnesia arc more than I expected.
I loved that they showed a full ending — marriage, kids, a complete life together.
The final dancing scene was unique and joyful. I’ve never seen that done before.
DISLIKES
Only drama ehere I genuinely hated a FL. She did not deserve this man. Not one bit and no one can convince that she actually loves him.
The drama throws extremely heavy plot points at you way too fast. Things that should have unfolded slowly were dumped all at once.
The constant misunderstandings felt unnecessary and exhausting. I hate when writers keep couples apart by piling on lies.
The fake “married with a kid” lie went on WAY too long, and it was cruel to the only innocent person in the situation.
Even by episode 6–7, the misunderstanding still wasn’t cleared, and watching him suffer for no reason was painful.
The female lead frustrated me a lot. She gave up on him instantly, acted like she didn’t care, and kept hurting him while he was clearly devastated.
She went back and forth emotionally in a way that felt unfair. He was all in, and she kept walking away.
The small-town arc made it worse — she openly said she was single while he was still fighting for her. That really bothered me.
He literally brought her proof so she could stop lying, traveled to her, begged her to stay — and she still pushed him away.
I genuinely don’t think she deserved him for a large portion of this drama.
The second female lead deserved better. Years later, she still got nothing, while everyone else had full families. That felt cruel and unresolved.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This drama is messy. The writing isn’t tight enough. Too much happens in too little time, and the misunderstandings go on longer than they ever should.
But despite all of that, it still has heart. It still has romance. It still has moments that made me swoon, cry, and smile. And that’s why I can’t agree with the extremely low ratings.
If the writing had been more focused and the emotional development slower, this could have been something really special.
Rating: 7.5–8/10 for me.
Flawed, frustrating, but nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

A great kdrama comeback into the typical kdrama romance genre
I've seen so many comments saying this cured their kdrama slump and after watching the show, I can fully understand why.It is an easy and enjoyable watch, with some cliches that do not disturb the overall watch, but with a lasting positive vibe.
All actors are great, chemistry good and, although there were parts I wish they did differently (leaving this empty not to spoil it for anyone), it is a drama you would not regret watching (like I regretted Dear X for example).

A nice story, but it had so much more potential that went to waste. :(
Ep. 1–2The series started with a quite cliché but adorable Cinderella story. It deserves 9 points out of 10.
Ep. 3–12
Unfortunately, from this point on, the story took a wrong turn. The FL has a reason to lie at first, but at some point it is no longer believable. Telling the truth to the ML is the safest and only reasonable choice, yet she decides to stay silent until the truth is revealed by accident. What a waste of potential to make this drama good and extraordinary.
The lack of communication between the characters covers up the lack of better ideas for the storyline. I like the idea that the FL is an effective woman — she takes responsibility into her own hands and acts when necessary.
I liked the acting and the chemistry between the main couple more than the story itself.
Ep. 13–14
I've never worked in S. Korea, but is it possible to slap an employee at work? I know it's meant to increase the drama, but it’s not very believable to me. Plus, there are unnecessary extra plotlines in the last episode. Instead of closing the sister's story, the script introduces another unnecessary conflict. It’s meant to make Go Da Rim realize that she may lose the ML as well, but it could have been handled better.
A few more cliché threads, such as the ML competing with another childhood friend or the second couple’s story, could have been finished better as well. Opening a start-up company without previous experience also feels unrealistic.
To sum up, I still enjoyed the series, but it could’ve been so much better. The acting of the main couple deserves praise, though.

A Cinderella Story for 2025, Predictable but Perfectly Fun
a light, entertaining K-drama that fully embraces romantic chaos and comedy without trying too hard to be deep. From the very first episode, the story throws the characters into funny, awkward situations that feel exaggerated yet oddly charming, making it easy to keep watching. Even without spoiling anything, you can tell early on where the story is heading—but that doesn’t ruin the fun at all.Jang Ki Young delivers his signature mix of cool charisma and soft vulnerability, while Ahn Eun Jin brings warmth, humor, and emotional balance to the screen. Their chemistry feels natural, playful, and comforting, like a modern fairytale. In many ways, this drama feels like a Cinderella story for 2025—updated, self-aware, and less naïve, yet still romantic at heart.
I knew the ending right after episode one, but I still stayed until the final episode. Surprisingly, I felt satisfied—sometimes predictability can be comforting, and Dynamite Kiss proves that.

Dynamite Kiss, you had me!
It’s honestly insane how we got back to back good dramas this year, and Dynamite Kiss was one of those dramas that pulled me in almost immediately. WHEN I SAY THE CHEMISTRY AND ROMANCE BETWEEN THE LEADS WAS INSANE, trust me, it really was. I was just two episodes in and already hooked, and from there the drama kept building its momentum in the best way possible. For a major part of its run, this genuinely felt like THE romcom of the year. It had everything - angst, comedy, romance, all hitting at their peak. It truly lived up to its name, “Dynamite Kiss.” The chemistry was explosive, addictive, and so well done that every romantic scene felt worth rewatching. This was the kind of drama where you don't want to overthink anything, you just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin absolutely carried the show. Ki Yong was born to play a yearning role! He didn’t hold back even for a second, and every ounce of angst was delivered perfectly. And Ahn Eun Jin, as always, added so much depth, warmth, and sincerity to her character. Together, their chemistry was undeniable. This is the kind of drama that makes you rewatch scenes, then episodes, and then behind the scenes.
However, the drama isn't without its flaws. Towards the end, the writing started slipping. The final episodes, especially the last one, felt messy and overstuffed, almost like the writer decided to collect every possible drama trope and dump them all together. What disappointed me the most was how badly the second leads were wasted. The second female lead, in particular, had so much potential, but her character was reduced to being a simp till the very end. Even the second male lead stayed exactly the same throughout. Both of them had room to grow, to break out of that repetitive loop and become something more, but that growth never came.
And yet… was this still one of my favorite dramas of the year? Yes. Absolutely.
I know a lot of people were understandably disappointed by the last few episodes, and that criticism is completely valid. But for me, the chemistry between the main leads was so strong that it made up for a lot of the questionable plot choices towards the end. I will genuinely protect the main leads and the actors with my whole heart. They were adorable, they carried the emotional weight of the drama, and despite its flaws, I genuinely enjoyed watching the drama from start to finish.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was addictive, emotional, and memorable.

Worth watching romcom
==Breakdown==Background plot- 30%
Romance - 45%
Misc comedy - 25%
Background plot - Fine
Romantic chemistry - Excellent
Misc comedy - Fun
Production value and direction - Good
This was a fun watch that got a little dark toward the end (and felt rushed in the last episode in particular). But overall it was a good watch. I especially enjoyed the early episodes. However, the rushed ending took an entire point off my rating (down from 9 to 8).

Dynamite cliche
This show is like watching a series of rom com and kdrama cliches stitched together as one show . Depending solely on the leads chemistry to make up for lack of creativity . It’s not like we are expecting some path breaking concept for these kind of shows . But some bare minimum effort is required. What’s the point in this day and age if ChatGPT can also generate the storyline for this show and it’s now all up to the actors to make up for everything and their fan base to make it successful. And don’t even get me started on the second ML character . If anyone is suffering from second ML syndrome please watch this show . It will kill that emotion in you . Not blaming the actor though. So so disappointed . It even begins with a classic rich CEO ML and poor af FL trope. It would have atleast been a bit more fun if they were trying to spoof these kind of shows from the 90’s and 2000’s . But no way.Was this review helpful to you?

Watch it!! Easy watching comfort drama!
I definitely saw too many spoilers, but this actually was a very, very good drama. It was cute. It was funny. It had drama but it was so lighthearted as well.I’m glad I kept watching because I’ve seen so many spoilers I almost didn’t and the spoilers definitely made things that I didn’t wanna watch sound like they lasted for longer like the amnesia scene. It literally probably lasted five minutes and it really didn’t do much so it was okay, but everybody traumatised it making it sound like it was three or four episodes!!
The casting was really good. I thought everybody was really great. I think I would’ve liked her to have found her sister I presume Da-rim did, but because we didn’t see it on screen, I almost wish that was tied up a bit and where’s her husband? Are they divorce divorced? Like what’s going on with that side of the story? Haha
I really liked the mother TF team!! it was so good so funny and every single character was so well played! I’m glad Ji-hyeok’s mom got her redemption and she got her company back and she was pure queen by the end it was so so good to see and her friendship with Da-rim’s mum was adorable. They met at the hospital it grew then they found out that their children liked each other. It was just happy vibes all over.!!
Dad, I don’t know about the half sister did she get her karma? Did she realise where she went wrong or did she just get away with it?
I really like the end credits as well they were great!!! I think the series was really really good and I’m almost disappointed in myself that it took me so long to keep going. It was so lighthearted and easy watching I would recommend it to everybody and I’m just say enjoy!

Went in with no expectations left disappointed
I haven't felt the need or want to leave a review for a show but this show truly made me so frustrated and confused. For this being a 14 episode drama they sure rushed through some plot points like they only had half an idea and made it on the spot and had no time to straighten it out. The first two episodes were so wildly different from the last few you would've thought you were watching an entirely different show. Why did they make the ML into a jerk for no good reason, it was such a cheap way to show that he liked her and it normally doesn't bother me as much but it made no sense for FL to fall for him like she did it felt disingenuous. I didn't have a problem fully with everything until the ending. She spent all this time apart from him and creating a life and working hard to start a company. So she can what? Work in the same team she left? I know she had a CEO name tag but of what? Why did they add that in there? What about her sister? Did i just miss something or did she really find the ML back in jeju and go "don't need to find my sister now found my man". That makes no sense for her character because everything we learned about her goes against this and why does she never struggle with the fact that her sister is missing? maybe if they stuck with the plot point of the first episode and carried out some of the things they did in the show it would've worked but the writing in this show bit off more than it could chew and was very disappointing. Was this review helpful to you?

If You Don't Have Enough Idea for 14 Episodes, Just Shorten It!
How many trope do you want? Yes! This show compiles a lot of mainstream Kdrama tropes, but the way they execute it is neither cheesy nor cringe. Thankfully, they didn't include childhood connection in this tropefest. It is very sweet and while office romance usually pisses us due to cringey situations, they successfully make us invested in it. The simplicity of trope execution is enough to hook us, well at least up until the 10th episode.Instead of making this show with weird number of 14 episodes, they should stick to 12. The introduction of Yu Tae Yong makes the story becomes ridiculous and unbearable. It's making such side story to be too malicious and takes too much focus, and instead they should focus about DA RIM'S SISTER. WHY ARE THEY FORGETTING HER? Episode 13 is clearly a filler. The breakup is ridiculous thanks to zero communication between the leads and dumb brain of FL (like you choose to trust Ji Hye over Ji Hyeok???), only for them to reunite again in the same episode. The premise about selling the house, going to aunt's house and addition of Kim Sang Sik are also uneccesary, and all of them happens in one episode. And unfortunately it doesn't stop there. There are still 𝗐̶𝗁̶𝗂̶𝗍̶𝖾̶ ̶𝗍̶𝗋̶𝗎̶𝖼̶𝗄̶ black sedan of doom, memory loss and another stupid breakup in one episode. Such a shame that the quality of the story plummeted so hard into a mere cheap romcom in last two episodes. How Da Rim is able to sell the house without Ji Hyeok knowing when Ji Hyeok's mother live together with her mother? During the fire incident at the art gallery, Ji Hyeok tells Da Rim that he's going to wash his pants. However after the fire start, Da Rim rushes straight to the Director's Room instead of going to the toilet. The smoke is so thick that it's even spread to the exhibition hall in the first floor, yet Da Rim is able to see through the Director's Room door, the place of the fire source.
I actually like the chemistry between ML and FL, not extraordinary but quite good. I personally feel the SML and SFL has more chemistry, but the writer made the SML insufferable and a walking red flag. This jerky Kim Seon U confesses to Da Rim only to prevent Ji Hyeok from dating her, while he actually "isn't ready for any new relationship" himself. He refuses to help Ji Hyeok clears Da Rim's name, and he cuts the communication between his son and Ha Yeong just to prevent she falls in love in her. What a total a**hole, and yet they make them together in the end. Disgusting.
The osts are very great thpught! However, storywise this show is nowhere strong. The only reason they successfully hook us up is the way they execute the tropes. Since it has gone wrong, this show is actually just "another romcom KDrama" which started very nice but ends up in the gutter. Probably the biggest let down of 2025.

went so downhill that it is braving earth's magma
the first two episodes were so promising that i can't believe i had to drop this drama after ep 10. none of the aspects were enjoyable anymore. i dislike miscommunication trope in general but the double fake relationships with intense angst was (too) promising. the storyline went so downhill that cliches that were supposed to be funny became infuriating to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
