Very cute but predictable
I really don’t know how I feel about this one. It’s one of those series that left me conflicted about how to rate it. On the one hand, it’s cute and fluffy; on the other, it’s boring and a bit annoying.Deep breath
Okay. I’m not saying it was bad—it wasn’t! But it was definitely slow at times. The beginning hooked me right in, all sweet and soft, and then… it kind of wandered off. I thought it had fallen asleep. And just when I was about to give up—boom! Something happened, my heart did a little flip, and before I knew it, I was reading the novel because I had to know what happened next. (Patience? Never heard of her.)
There’s nothing too complicated or surprising—just a slow story about a boy with life problems meeting another boy with life problems, and together they slowly untangle their messes. Simple, but kind of lovely in its own way. The main characters weren’t perfect, but that’s what made them feel real. They made mistakes, they learned, and that made me root for them. It felt like a cozy Hallmark movie—cute, funny, sweet, and honestly very pretty to watch.
There were a lot of things I really liked: the characters had depth, their motivations made sense, the change of setting was refreshing, and the natural scenery was gorgeous. But I’ll be honest: if it wasn’t about Jom and Yo as a couple, I just didn’t care much. Screaming girls, two idiots trying to stir up trouble in the village, classmates fighting, family drama, annoying brothers… nope. I just wanted more of the soft moments between the leads.
And oh, Jom and Yo… they were precious. I don’t usually go for slow romances, but these two won me over. I loved that the show took its time to tell the story properly. I appreciated that it showed a lot of happiness throughout, not just in the final episode. I liked how the two of them communicated about their problems, supported each other, and stayed honest. Watching them grow closer and explore their emotions was a joy.
I laughed, I giggled, I even got a little teary. The hopeless romantic in me was living. Their chemistry was amazing—they were sweet, respectful, and mature, which made them so easy to love. Part of me wanted to give them 10 stars just for being that wholesome. I really wanted to give the whole thing 10 stars just for them. But then I remembered all the filler, and I sighed.
So yeah, overall: very cute. Not life-changing, but definitely not bad.

From nonchalant to reality
The story line was we sorted and put together though sometimes seemed drawn out a bit. The chemistry between the main characters where a bit glitchy; at first I thought it was the age difference because of how the story was written maybe but then "Yo" came of age and still it was a bit off. I could tell that the actors themself weren't 100% comfortable kissing I felt a reserved feeling whenever they were to kiss.Yo is well mature than what I thought his character would be in the beginning, he was just throwing some tantrums here and there because he had never really been given the opportunity to express himself and people actually listen and understand his reasons for the things he do.
This series was funny, I had some good laughs. Granny's acting and personality was topnotch she goes hard for her crew, Earn was sooooo annoying my gosh she made me want to stuck a pencil in my ear. I thought that she and Kaew would have ended up together because they gave us some sweet heartbeat moments with them but that took a turn haha.

Some cuteness, some drama... some flaws
My Sweetheart Jom stars Saint, after a lengthy hiatus from BL roles, and Poom as Yo. Here are my pros and cons:PROS
POOM. I am a fan. This kid has charisma and swag! He's a natural on screen.
GRANNY. Sassy and sweet. Loved her.
CINEMATOGRAPHY. Beautiful scenery captured throughout this series.
CONS
YO/JOM. It wasn't the age difference (although I thought Jom looked better with Tee and Yo could have hooked up with one of the Three Musketeer boys). It was the power imbalance, with Jom being Yo's mentor. I'm glad that was addressed in the show and Poom behaving like an absolute boss while pursuing Jom made it somewhat believable. Too bad the two had no chemistry.
SAINT. Really very little emotion one way or another. I never felt Jom had any kind of sexual attraction to Yo. And then he goes all "porn star orgasmic face" in the one sex scene, which is what Saint does in every role. He's obviously spent a lot of time on PornHub.
STORY. Okay, what happened to Yo's popstar girlfriend from Ep 1? And her weird stalker boyfriend? He came back, caused some trouble and then just disappeared. Earn was super annoying, but even worse was that high school girl who thought she was all that (the one who bullied other girls and chased after Yo). I really wanted her to get it, but she didn't. And what was Jom's dad about? I got the feeling he was a bad guy with mafia friends, but then at the end he was made out to a good guy. Too many plot holes.
FINALE. Unnecessarily melodramatic, with Yo announcing he's leaving, and with no explanation. A stupid turn of events that just wasted time. And the "five years later" thing doesn't work, when NOBODY ages at all.
It's 7.0 from me.

Too much focus on side stories
I won't say this was great drama but i did enjoy coz it was fun, nothing new, i didn't find the chemistry at all between main lead. They focus too much on side story. I felt like main lead got limited time screen. Makers should have given more screen to them. But we can say makers try to give different story. Far from famous and handsome college star and falling with simple guy while holding guitar. This is the reason i enjoyed this series. Anyway you can watch and enjoy. Was this review helpful to you?

A feel-good show that's mostly average on all fronts
I am a longtime BL watcher and know Saint from his own shows back in the day, as well as, the productions he leads as CEO of IdolFactory more recently. I must say, after The Sign with BillyBabe and GAP and The Loyal Pin with FreenBecky, I was expecting a higher quality of production in terms of the story and acting.I will not harp on the suspension of disbelief required to believe Saint as Chief Jom (seriously, his skin glows with an irridescence that is IMPOSSIBLE if you spend even 5 mins a day in the sun). The entire village of Pho Chai is populated by actors who look like genuine villagers and then we have Yo and Jom, who look like they have walked off a Yves Saint Laurent photoshoot. lol
Even if you move past this initial hiccup 👀, the story is paper thin. MSJ is just episode after episode of a huge cast of characters interacting on and off. The characterization is shallower than a teaspoon and the plot is non-existent.
For example— Yo, by episode 8 or 9, suddenly comes to have a massive crush on Jom. He is a character whose shown to only have crushes on girls before this, so there needs to be a proper build-up for this relationship that is suddenly so important to him. Yes, Jom is kind to Yo, but he is kind to everyone. Also, its not like Yo is starved for kindness because of which Jom might seem super appealing to him. Yo has parents who love and coddle him and is generally a rich, spoiled kid who has had a pretty easy life. So why does Yo suddenly come to like Jom you ask? Because the show needs him to.
The "skinship" between Jom and Yo is pretty minimal, by today's Thai drama standards and I think I prefer that. I am not so hung up on the casts' real ages— they are legal adults who can make decisions for themselves. BUT, in the show, Chief Jom is AT LEAST in his late twenties, having finished college a while back and having served as chief of the village for 2-3 years. And Yo is still completing high school?? Da fuq are these showmakers smoking? Why couldn't Yo be a college student instead? It would have made their relationship a lot more palatable. The only reprieve is that Poom, who plays Yo, is built and really does not have the body of a highschooler, so it makes this otherwise disturbing relationship go down a bit easier.
The acting is pretty mediocre as well. Saint does an okay job as Chief Jom, but Poom is very limited in his range. His weak acting is especially evident in episodes where he needs to cry or show any intense emotions. The granny character is overacting in every scene and she grates my nerves. The supporting kiddy cast are all okay and are just enough for the limited side characters they are playing.
Overall, its not like MSJ promised us some worldbending storyline or anything, but this show is extremely mediocre. I was expecting a lot better from Saint and his production house, especially since good storytelling and quality productions are their specialty.

A cozy series out in the countryside
A cozy series out in the countryside. Sometimes you need that instead of a big city. I hope there will be more series like this. Really cozy series but a little action. I like Saint as an actor and I hope he and Poom will do more series in the future.#SaintPoom

Love Painted in Every Glance
My Sweetheart Jom the Series is more than just a love story — it’s an experience that makes your heart race and your soul melt. The breathtaking landscapes and rich traditions of Thailand set the perfect stage, but it’s the performances of the cast that truly shine. Every actor brings depth and authenticity to their role, making the story feel alive and unforgettable. The heart of this series, though, is the chemistry between Jom and Yo. Their connection is magnetic — tender and heartfelt, yet charged with a romantic intensity that you can feel through the screen. Every glance, every touch, every moment they share carries sparks of passion that linger long after the episode ends. It’s rare to see such natural chemistry, where love feels not only believable but also irresistibly captivating.
✨ My Sweetheart Jom the Series is touching, romantic, and undeniably sexy — a story of love that is as passionate as it is beautiful. A must-watch for anyone who wants to feel the magic of true chemistry.

Near Perfect!
I say near perfect, because the small issues I had do not take away anything from this adorable series. This is a very well made story that is obviously nurtured from beginning to end in its production. The flaws…not too much. The last 2 full episodes seemed rushed to wrap it up tidy. Not horribly, but enough to take away from the viewers ability to fully savor the important closures to the plot lines. 1 or 2 extra ep could have helped (but oh, that darn 12 ep limit rule😉). Also, there were a couple of things in the story that were too abrupt or that slightly didn’t make sense. I think that was driven by the rush as well.
So many have waited for Saints return to the BL genre and he did not disappoint. It was so wonderful to see him again, and he picked a wonderful partner to perform with. They had great chemistry which left us wanting more of their personal story. Hope to see them paired in the future!
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable series that I will definitely rewatch. The humor, flow, casting and chemistry worked like magic to tell a genuinely top notch story.

Base off Uncut, the one I watched.
So, this one has ended now... and I'm not really sure what I feel about this...What I mean is, I normally when watching a series, I put myself into it, like I am with them, soi I tend to think WAY more than I should most of the time, sometimes when I shouldn't even, and this is one of those times where I thought way to much when watching this.
So with that being said, for me to rate this, I need to put all that behind me and think of it as a fun lighthearted Romantic Comedy deal and rate it base on that thinking. Other wise my rating would be like a 2, 2½ so... Lets get started...
There were still some serious moments and things that I still can't really hide away...
Yo's parents, I'm sorry but to pretty much blame your own son for being a trouble maker when all he did was like someone, not letting him tell you his side of it at all, his father was a real piece of crap, believing someone else over your own son is just messed up, all because of Yo helped his friends out in the past and got kicked out of school for it. I really doubt his parents even know the truth about that, or even cared enough to ask Yo about it.
Everyone think Yo is a bad kid and Jom treating him like a kid. He did that way to long. This really is not a serious moments, but it drove me nuts!
Now on to the other... If you think about it there were some things in this series that didn't really need to be there, first one the annoying little shit Earn, I get why they had her, but did they have to make her SO DAMN ANNOYING! I know spoil brats can be annoying but my god we did not need her to be like that at all, they should have rethought the way they made her.
Theethat was useless to come back, I didn't see the point in putting that into the plot, it's so played out... It's so stupid how he thought he had a chance... Talk about a stupid moron.
The 3 boys, they kind of was there for the fun of having them, but if you are going to have them then keep them, it was pointless to have them there but than again not have them there, then they were just gone till the end... It was just weird.
The bad guys in this was just ridiculous I swear. especially Yingyos, he was so damn stupid, though he thought he was so smart. HA!
I gotta say Aon did a great job, I think bad guy rolls fit him really well. Saint I think did good for the roll he got in this as with Poom, though I didn't really feel the Chemistry all that great with them, it was kind of there but not really, it was like... Hmm I see a little something, not like Oh Wow you can see it a mile away.
The best one out them all was Granny, I just loved her throughout the whole series she made it worth the watch alone. 😂 ok I will shut up now... I know I am missing things I wanted to put, but oh well this is good enough...
What it comes down to is, don't watch this with the thought of something that is going to be a serious series because it's not, yes there are some things that are, but with this you need to think less when watching something I didn't do.

Simple and not complicated story
If you are natural lover, this series is for you.Not many kiss and NC scene. The secenary of Pho Chai is fabulous.very rare to find countryside stories now a days.
ML are Matured person with naughty person. The password of wifi 😁 and when they were catching fish in the field, it was very funny. Lotus pond scene is cute. If a Bangkok boy stuck in countryside, what are the difficulties he faces and finally how adapted to new environment.

Zero Chemistry But Compellingly Entertaining
I absolutely enjoyed this series and if you asked me seriously why, I am completely at a loss to comprehensively answer that. The plot is ridiculously contrived. The story itself is all over the map. Even if one could attempt to summarize, it might sound illogical and laughable. Yet, I valued its warmth, its positive relationship to the rural lifestyle, its spotlight on idealism, and most of all its unwavering path to taking the high road to bends in the road when it came to the moral compass. It is simply a fun story to watch that is ginormously entertaining with a steady sense of humor that never is completely off the wall but occasionally is tongue-in-cheek yet remains relatable enough that we see the humor presented in down-to-earth fashion. I may have overrated this series, but sometimes the likability factor outweighs all its negativity. This series simply has charm, fun, and astonishing entertainment. So, for a few precious hours, we can drift away into a make-believe BL world where all will be well. Sometimes, we just need that feeling. I just loved watching the shenanigans of the characters in this series. They made me smile! Was this review helpful to you?
