Mutya Ng Section E
At first the storyline was good, the antagonist has her unknown mental health condition, a story about enemies to lovers (cliche) but okay I'll deal with that. The acting was a little cringe in some scenes, at the last episode their acting was good, cried on the last episode. I find the series decent, it was good, the choice of cast was great, I can see Yuri's emotion through his eyes. But there were just so many unanswered questions like what was the real condition of Jayjay and what caused her to have that kind of condition? What happened between her and her ex-boyfriend? What happened to Yuri at the end, how was their problem resolved? I do not think the last scene gave justice to the emotions of Jayjay, yes Kiefer said he likes her but does that change the fact that she's engaged? Does the kissing scene resolve all the problems Jayjay has with her current situation? What was the deal with Jayjay's dad? So yeah wasn't really satisfied with the ending. And I was annoyed because I was expecting more episodes. My favorite part was when Kiefer sang "Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko"

WORSE THAN DOG SH*T
you could feed the dog you entire trash bin and it's poop would still be colorful compared to what this is.i don't write reviews unless I'm extremely pissed off.
this has bullying, sort of extreme. the ml is an asshole, the fl is a fucking door mat. every actor here has an acting range of a wet cardboard soaked in disgusting drainage.
the review will say "their chemistry is amazing" please everytime that guy came close to her i felt nothing but wanting to punch his nose. it's not romantic. this is sick what the fuck is actually wrong with people.
I'm astonished at the bunch of high ratings here, are those left by brain dead immature children? i felt nothing but discomfort ever since the beginnings of the episode 1 and i STRUGGLED to get through 4. do people really lacked the emotional intelligence to see how toxic this drama is? THIS IS EXACTLY WHY YOU DON'T MAKE WATTPAD LIVE ACTION.
ANY SANE PERSON WILL HATE THIS DRAMA.

Just watch to make your life more fun
It's just so FUNNY i'll be giggling for more 10 mins after watching each episode. I came to watch it since there were just too may reels/ edits and Dalen Dale tiktok I HAD TO WATCH IT. It's my first Filipino drama and it left a good impression on me. The plot is not really anything but the chemistry is cool and I would rewatch it in few months. See this drama portrays strong bond in friendship and family but besides that there nothing much to take. Its fun and engaging.WATCH IT TO ENTERTAIN YOUR LIFE.
P.S. Ashtine is soooooo cute.

enemies to lovers (giving boys over flowers)
AHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THE CAST AND THE OST, AMAZING AMAZINGwhen i found out ash and andres are tgt for real i scream they are soo cute!! and Ci-N is like their child (he's literally son core)!
everytime yuri came on (okay maybe because im japanese) something about him was just off broooo, and just very cringe. the only thing i like about him was the song that he sang to jayjay.
this drama is like a found family x love triangle trope.

Unexpected in a good way
So.. this is the first Filipino drama I've ever watched and it was a good surprise.*the plot
Actually at first, the plot reminded me of Korean and Japanese classics like Hana Yori Dango and To the beautiful You if you know what I mean. I guess it's what made the nostalgic me keep watching. The plot uses a lot of clichés but it's still charming in some ways. There are some moments that made me cringe or even want to stop but I ultimately came back. So even if I've seen better this is not the worst plot I've ever seen.
*the actors and their characters
INSANE offscreen and onscreen chemistry, you can feel all the actors are very close and their characters are all very funny and pleasant to follow.
*love story
Even though it's very cliché, the love story is quite well written. I thought the dance scene depicted very well high school love and I was happy to see such a rare scene. I think it's always thanks to the actors but a lot of untold things still make it to the reader and I thought it was really well made.
*the ending
why. of course I want a season two but I hate to have to wait! Anyways I hope they don't ruin it .
Special mention to the OST which has been harassing me for the past weeks.

Wattpad at it's best
As someone who has read a lot of Wattpad stories (not the one this drama is based on, though), I really felt that this drama brings that nostalgia to life. It's the stupidity that is endearing and the cliches that you cannot help but love. The story is very typical and at the same time not always predictable. Initially, I was not super keen on this drama, and I was sure I was not going to watch it, but the section E boys grow on you. They are chaos and complications that find their solutions in the flawed, nosy, but full-of-heart new student, Jay Jay. I LOVE Jay Jay, my girl talks with fights and fists, the girl has been through so much, but opens her heart and loves everyone. Kiefer became more likable with each episode, and Yuri, our dear SML, is lovable, but also so very complicated. I love the way they show the slow-building friendship and acceptance between the section E boys and Jay Jay. They go from ostracizing her to being cutely protective of her. I love the music, especially the intro song Daleng Dale. If you are looking for a show where you can shut your brain and watch, this is 100 percent the show for you.Was this review helpful to you?
Andres as keifer is best!!
Just love love love!! Watching Andre’s playing keifer is such a blessing to the eyes! Also., just love the chemistry between ashtine and him. I just don’t get it why people are having problem with andres. I mean the guy is giving his best. I cannot imagine anyone else playing the role of keifer so brilliantly as he is doing! Was this review helpful to you?
Now, talking about the story:
- Plot: A classic enemies-to-lovers high school romance with heavy themes of social hierarchy, self-worth, traumas, found family, discrimination, redemption and the list goes on...the show balances comedy, drama, and romance without jarring tonal shifts. It has that familiar Wattpad charm but with more structure, but I shall give you a warning, it can be cringy at times. As I already said, the subplots are nice, many characters receive attention, even though some of section e are kinda forgotten...still, we can't complain, there's a lot of them. As a Wattpad-originated romcom, certain tropes (rich boy, bullied class, transfer student) are cliché, but they're not without meaning, so it's not exactly a flaw, just predictable at times.
- Pacing: As I said, the series mirrors the novel’s episodic storytelling, which appeals to fans. Each episode often ends on a outrageous cliffhanger, keeping viewers engaged, similar to how Wattpad chapters are structured. Secondary characters like Mica, Ella, Grace, Percy and the rest of Section E get time to breathe, with their backstories and changes unfolding steadily across episodes, so if you like a story that doesn't neglect the side cast, this is for you. A thing that I wanted to say is that many complain about the unresolved mysteries, but in my opinion it should follow the book's pacing, because let me tell you, everyone's life in this series/novel is MESSY, DRAMATIC, COMPLEX and it's not easy to unravel like some might think, so they did a good job by finishing season one like the first book. Still, there are also some flaws...the first 2–3 episodes compress a lot of exposition, jay-jay’s transfer, introduction to Section E, and initial conflict with Keifer, which I feel like they could’ve used more buildup. The same basically goes for the last 2 episodes, it was way too rushed for me, still, it's not easy to do an adaptation of 127 chapters in 16 episodes, so I can see why they tightened it up.
- Romance: Let's start by the main couple. Keifer and Jay-jay have a nice development, their banter, rivalry, and frequent confrontations build thick romantic tension, so their attraction hides beneath their bickering. The romance obviously doesn't come quickly, which makes the emotional payoff stronger. Their relationship is built through small moments, unspoken concern, acts of protection, and reluctant admiration. Keifer starts out cold and hella prideful but softens over time. His emotional development is tightly linked to his growing affection for Jay-jay. While Jay-jay, who is strong and confident, has her insecurities, especially about fitting in, considering her whole life. Keifer sees sides of her others don’t, and this intimacy deepens their bond. So their romance isn’t just cute, it’s transformative. Keifer becomes a better version of himself through loving Jay-jay, and Jay-jay finds strength in being truly seen and valued. Ashtine and Andres Muhlach (Keifer) have really solid on-screen chemistry, too, it feels really natural to the point I think they're in a relationship in real life haha, they're just THAT good! As for the side couples, what can I say, they aren't any less! They're way more "calm", not too dramatic. One complain is that every single guy in section E (Calix, Denzel, Keifer, Yuri...), in a way or another, used their girls for a specific goal, then regret it because they fall in love with them...I think it's overused but hey, as a book reader, I can't complain since they became cute.
The true question is, how will this look to people who do not read Wattpad or webnovels and only watch TV series? Eh...that's a tough question, to be honest I think most of them would drop it midway (lol) because of the little "cringe" or "cliché" scenes, but here I'd like to clarify something, this was written by a Philippine author, and there the humour works differently, so actually, those scenes aren't cringe for them...they just joke in a different way generally speaking. Season one was more of an introduction to all the complex drama that will come in S2, so they should give it a chance.
So, overall, I'd say this is something anyone could watch, since it explores many topics and isn't just romance oriented. My rating is probably a bit biased because I read the Wattpad version since it released, but seriously, it's not mediocre by any means! A solid 8/10 is fair all things considered, so run to watch it.

Started strong, dont know what happened during the end
So, positives first:I see why people say that this show is basically a soap-opera, drama and secrets at every turn. This show is never boring, something is always happening, always some drama going on. There where many moments between the characters that left me giddy, kicking my feet, grining, you name it. It left me wishing for the next episode every week, this show is addictive I tell you.
Theme song is a bop: 10/10, will get stuck in your head.
Now, some less positive things:
The plotlines go by quick, usually start and end in the same episode and leads to the plot moving very quickly, which can be good or bad depending on the person. Personally I think this was to fast. There were plotlines that in any other show would take up at least one or two episodes but here they were over in, quite literally less than 10 minutes, and I whish they were much more fleshed out. Some plotlines are introduced and never resolved at all. They are introduced in one episode and left in the bakground only to pop up one or two more times throughout the show but are never solved (Spoiler: stepbrother?). This would not be a problem if the show had more than one season and this show was aired this year, but I have also seen that there probably wont be a second season. Not beacuse the show was not popular enough, but for some other reason that I have not seen mentioned. (edit: just saw a season two listed here on mdl so hopefully the plotlines will be sorted out in the second season.)
The acting is definitely not bad but it coud be better, some cringe moments (I at least partially blame the script for that) and is overall something that is pretty easy to overlook. The show is based on a Wattpad book so the story and characters is kind of on par i guess.
I really like most of the characters, (the Section E boys really grew on me), but there are also some characters that seem to be cruel to our MC Jay-Jay for no reason. They treat her horribly but still expect her to respect them and to basically sacrifice her future for them. Nobody who really should be in her corner seems to actually be there. If they have a reason to treat her like that we do not get to see it.
This last thing really annoyed me (probably more than it should). But in my opinion they waited way too long to air the last episode. There were (I think) like a two-three week gap between the second to last episode and the finale airing, and I just kind of stopped caring in that period. I stopped being exited for the next episode beacuse it felt like the show was already over when in reality it still had one episdoe to go.
Final thoughts:
Ang Mutya ng Section E/Welcome to Section E is overall an enjoyable show that will not leave you bored with some elements that I can understan why they would frustrate some people. This show is not for those looking for high artbut if you just want to have a good time without having to focus too hard then I recommend you to watch this show.
