The expectation was set differently but the girls still rules
Contrary to popular opinion I enjoyed Girl Rules a lot more than I thought I would. My first GL didn't disappoint me at all. While my expectations were set for something else, this turned out not at all bad.The plot is well written. Did I anticipate it to be more messy, toxic and deep? Yes but it was still good enough to reach my heart. The problem is the pilot and trailer set a different expectation for the series, making it the GL equivalent of Only Friends. But it was way less messy in terms the cross relations. In the middle it did fell of a bit however while it took a different part it still managed to show multiple issues w|w relationship faces, all the issues women as a general face in the society. Through the characters it showed us about the value of love, friendship and care. Each of the character carried their own back story. Bambi's character was well written and had the multidimension while most slid towards one dimensional characters. What really made me stay till the end was how the scenes are played, which felt closer to reality, as if I was a part of the Girl Rules universe. There was no rush or scenes which felt unnecessary. The girlhood and sisterhood played throughout the story made my heart warm.
The direction was great. I don't know what people are complaining about. This was not just for the adrenaline, this felt more like stories about actual queer women. I loved the direction style. The pace was perfect. The color grading and editing was perfect. The styling is chef kiss. The sound engineering could have been better but overall the watching experience was good.
Oh my gosh I love the GMM girls. Shout out to Namtan. Film, Love, Milk, View, Mim, Emi, Bonnie, Ciize, Kapook, Mint and the rest of the cast for crushing the drama with their acting. From dialogue delivery to facial expression, everything brought each of the characters to life.
As a women myself, this was closer to my heart. It felt more than a drama. If we keep the pre-built thoughts aside, Girl Rules might be one of the best GLs in the industry with such a realistic set up and grey characters.

Not bad for my first GL
This was the first ever GL I watched and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think the girls all had great chemistry together and I really liked all the pairings. The spice was pretty decent in my opinion, like I said I haven't seen one before, so I don't have anything to compare it to. My main issue with the show is some plotlines were drawn out too much or were just really repetitive. Prim and Bambi's will they-won't they and Gorya's back and forth relationship with Shasha got old after a bit. Other than that, I liked it. The girls are so gorgeous too!! Loved seeing Emi and Bonnie's cameo as well!!Characters:
Prim: I really liked her for most part. She did annoy me at times, but I loved how determined and hardworking she was.
Bambi: I think she was the most complex and interesting character. We saw a lot of growth from her over the series, and I feel like we saw the most emotionally from her.
Shasha: I think she was also one of the most interesting. She's been through a lot to get to where she is and I liked seeing her finally be able to process and deal with it to get what she truly wants.
Gorya: I liked her, but I do think she annoyed me more than she didn't. She just always seemed mad or annoyed about something, and it usually wasn't anything worth getting worked up over. I love how she helped Sha though.
Min: I loved her a lot until the last couple episodes. She was so unreasonable when it came to Prim wanting time off for Bambi. It was so frustrating to watch. Until that moment she was one of my favorites.
Praew: She was my least favorite. I liked how strong she was and how she would fight for what's right. That being said, she pressured Min so much!! Whether that was to date her, to be public with her, to come out; all of it! She was never really understanding that it's harder for some people to come out than others, especially when she thought she was straight before.

I don't know how everything did go wrong. I usually love Jojo's work because usually it's well done and talk about a few issue about queerness or other, like The Warp Effect with a non binary character. But in this drama, sometime it was okay and sometime like wtf??? "Are you bi or non binary?" Obviously the only two sexuality?? They seem to not know that bi people exist - Actually Mim is supposed to have comphet but we never talk about it?? And just act like she just switch side.
+ Why the girl that shame men because they don't understand when a girl don't want to talk to them, suddenly became unwoke and want her girlfriend to be out (and she know she just runaway from a toxic relationship). Like girl chill. Let her accept her own sexuality first.
I won't talk about how PrimBambi are dating (you are dating for years and yet you don't talk). Okay horny girls?
Prim and Mim... Or when your bestfriend is your worst enemy.
I love Gorya and Bambi friendship, they should have been friends sooner.
To be honest the issue isn't the toxicity - I came for that - but because it doesn't make sense most of the time.
I only give 7 out of 10, because the actrice play really well, and got really good chemistry. They did all the work here to be honest.

Girl Rules Review: One of Thai GL’s Messiest — and Most Authentic — Rides
Over 12 episodes, Girl Rules gave us messy relationships, emotional growth, sapphic chaos, and one of Thai GL’s most authentic portrayals of lesbian dynamics. Did it fully stick the landing? GMM Let's Try an Ensemble Again!!
Gorya best GL character ever!!Cast was amazing in this. You could tell the actresses took their characters seriously and really worked well with the script they were given. I saw online that Film improvised some of the scenes and it's like girl okay why you letting the actress out-write you
Wish they kept all of the drama contained within the 6 women rather than introduce external drama plots

Uhm
Sorry but this was a waste of time. I liked it until episode 3 and then it started to get boring. I hated a lot of things. I keep thinking if they had kept the original trailer version would that have been better? Gmmtv come on I know you can do better than this. I love all the actors but with these actors you would think they could do much better acting. Was this review helpful to you?
A poorly executed plot that could have been improved
I think this show could have had a logical plot and a lot more amazing scenes. Although the girls' acting and chemistry were flawless, the plot, editing, sound quality, OST, and character development are all disappointing. The fights and toxicity are tolerable at first, but as the script progressed, they quickly became dull and irritating.
The plot seemed like a good idea, but the way it was carried out was really annoying and displeasing.

if it wasn't for the acting talent
oh boy, we waited over a year for a show with tons of promise and a hell of a cast. the novel was meh... but they often are. then the show was nothing like the novel and less than meh.i would have dropped it if it wasn't for the amazing acting.
the story was inconsistent: was Bambi a brat, selfish, traumatized, confused...? well yes, depending on which episode you watched. Min had occasional amnesia and a case of character assassination. you can't leave an abusive relationship just to expect a yes woman as your next partner. if only Mim's character had a story and some backbone there could have been so much to their storyline. I'll never get over the whiplash the transition from ep 8 to 9 gave me when it comes to ShashaGorya. but Shasha has the best story out of all the characters.
PLEASE can someone let GMMTV and their partners know that audio quality is important?! I don't wanna hear blown out voices and yelling or the crinkling of someone's shirt.
The amazing dramatic scenes (Shasha adressing abuse or Bambi's breakdown) never amounted to anything and got wiped away immediately, sometimes within seconds.
you can tell they switched the writing team around halfway.
all the actors were phenomenal. some of the intimate scenes, when not just implied, were well done, others not so much cause the camera angle was off (looking you, at hand under shirt while on vacation)
I'm grateful to have this but the entire production team needs upskilling and to never touch gl again. harsh I know
but no one can say that the girls didn't give their all. many friendships formed due to this series. let's celebrate that

Good idea, Bad execution but at least they tried
What can I say about GMMTV's most anticipated series? Personally, I really enjoyed it. Even though I think 10 episodes would have been enough, I became genuinely attached to the characters and their different life journeys. My favorite characters were Bambi, Shasha, and Gorya. They all had strong and interesting personalities, but what also stood out to me was their fashion. Their outfits felt fresh and innovative for a GL series, and I really appreciated that because we don't usually see characters dressed like that in this genre.
Despite all the complaints and criticism on social media, I enjoyed Girl Rules. It was entertaining in many ways and gave me exactly what I was looking for, so thank you to the series for that.
As for the couples, I really loved Shasha and Gorya, as well as Prim and Bambi. By the end, their relationships became quite similar, even though they started off completely differently. There was sexual tension, some cheating, a little bit of craziness, but not enough arguments for my taste. I would have liked to see more conflict between these couples to make their dynamics even more compelling.
I'm sorry, but I really didn't enjoy Min and Praew as a couple. Their dynamic was frustrating to watch. I didn't find Praew's persistence cute at all. It's such a shame because Min's storyline about discovering and coming to terms with her sexuality was genuinely interesting, but this relationship took away from that for me.
I also appreciated that the series touched on queer (lesbian) themes, women's issues, and mental health. Even though these topics were only explored on a surface level, I think they deserved much more development.
In any case, don't let social media opinions decide for you. Form your own opinion. The series is nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be.

A Strong Start with a Weaker Finish
The series starts off exceptionally well, introducing a large cast of characters and multiple interconnected storylines without ever becoming difficult to follow. One of its biggest strengths is its cast: many of the characters feel distinct, emotionally layered, and genuinely interesting to watch. Combined with strong pacing, a great soundtrack, and consistently engaging relationship dynamics, the show quickly becomes easy to get invested in. The actresses deserve particular praise, as their performances often elevate scenes beyond what is written on the page and help maintain emotional investment throughout the series.Another major strength is the balance between romance and drama. Emotional conflicts usually feel meaningful, and the series spends considerable time exploring the characters' insecurities, personal growth, and complicated relationships. Several storylines develop in unexpected ways, and some initially questionable plot points later receive enough context to become much more understandable. At its best, the writing creates nuanced character dynamics that feel emotionally authentic and compelling.
However, the series gradually loses some of its narrative strength as it progresses. While the first half is driven by strong character writing and organic development, the later episodes increasingly rely on familiar drama tropes, forced misunderstandings, jealousy plots, and exaggerated conflicts. Some supporting characters remain frustratingly one-dimensional, and several character decisions feel difficult to justify. A few major storylines reach emotionally satisfying destinations, but the journey toward those resolutions can feel rushed, inconsistent, or overly convenient.
The most noticeable issue is that the writing quality declines toward the finale. Certain relationships begin to rely more on repetitive drama than meaningful development, and some resolutions arrive so quickly that they undermine the emotional weight of previous conflicts. While the performances remain strong enough to carry many of these weaker moments, there is a clear difference between the more confident storytelling of the earlier episodes and the increasingly forced drama of the final stretch. It may not fully live up to the potential of its strongest early episodes, but it still delivers an engaging and memorable drama-romance experience.

Good start, ended up slop....
I mean it wasnt that bad, i would rewatch this in my free time (mostly bc of the cast)The writing:
The writing was honestly slop, i could tell everything was not very organised, project was a low budget...
The Music:
-I watched it during premier BRO THE OPENING IS SO SHIT WHY GMMTV WHAT IS THIS BUDGET
-Something New (viewmim) was the best OST imo, had it on repeat in my free time
-music wasnt bad overall except goddamn girl rules opening
The Casting/Acting
-the cast was actually really good, if it wasnt them i woulda stopped watching already
-film portrayed bambis mental health REALLY good, loved her crying scenes brought me pluto flashbacks lol
-I liked milks acting, i think it was episode 8 she did a great job and bringing discomfort
Fave cp: MilkLove/shashagorya
-I actually really liked the pacing of shashagorya, it gave me nolstalgia, i really wish they put more effort nearing the end 3
Viewmim/minpraew Awesome chem, my girls deserve the spotlight, althought as the story progressed they didnt have much lore to the show
Namtanfilm/primbambi: their acting was nice, their story was nice in the first half but then it was more like "fighting then solve it with making out"
