Top Form

Top Form is one of the best series of 2025.

There are very few dramas of any genre that I have wanted to start watching again immediately after I have finished the series. Top Form is among that handful. It was a wonderful production from the casting to the soundtrack and everything in between. The only thing it lacked was a much better script and storyline. The music enhanced the emotions and complimented the scenes rather than detracted from them. This in and of itself is a rare feat.

The chemistry between Boom and Smart on screen was palpable and this pairing was magical. It felt real and raw, messy and intense. It often felt as if they forgot they were being filmed during their scenes and were just being themselves. Their expressions, words and touches were so realistic, I felt like I was intruding on their intimacy. Although Smart is younger and relatively new to acting, his portrayal of Jin was full of emotion, intensity and maturity. Boom has age and experience in his corner, but this was truly his breakout role and he showed that he was a true male lead, full of complexity and emotion. Once Jin realized the depth of his feelings for Akin he was unstoppable in his pursuit for love and this sometimes felt a little too obsessive.

This drama was not by any means perfect, but was really, really good. I found some of the storyline distracting at times, such as the introduction of Naru and his inclusion in The Sexiest Man vote. Really? It also gave us some insight into the world of actors and the demands the industry and fans place on them. It is not glamorous, but cutthroat and manipulative. Thankfully our leads managed to shine through all of these setbacks. The stalker incident should have been written more critically and not treated as a dust up. The sabotage and manipulation by SIGMA, as well as the homophobia deserved more attention and accountability in the plot. None of this was acceptable, and was definitely criminal.

I also ugly cried a few times during the series. Obviously during the angsty scenes between Boom and Smart. I am a sucker for good romance and a happily ever after. I found myself tearing up in the last episode when they got caught up in a sensual moment. The emotions on their faces and the background music were beautiful. I’MIN’s Fallen City was absolutely perfect. Kudos to the production team!!

This show worth the watch if you have seen Thamepo!

I didn’t expect to like this series.
I noticed one of the main leads was from “Don’t Say No” as a side couple. I really enjoyed his acting especially paired with an actor I haven’t seen before. Overall plot was great and cute. I feel like Akin at first comes off as caring and confident which I like. His break down on feeling like he was becoming less popular was very emotional. Going from once a star that shines so brightly to now dim was hard for him. The negative comments “fans” had commented on Akin being light to how actors are really treated in the industry especially in modeling. They do things they do not like but feel obligated to because it may boost their acting careers. It is very competitive in the industry. This series coming after watched Thamepo was great timing.

JUST A DECENT DRAMA NOTHING SPECIAL

Okay! Do I like it? Yeah maybe! Will I rewatch it? No! I feel like the best part about this drama are the NC scenes! Don't get me wrong, I love NC scenes and even more if they are properly done, which they did well in this drama!

Their voices are very low when they are not in their NC scenes and their acting is pretty much Thai BL standard nothing special!

I know it's an adaptation but they should have given it more life since it's a live action!

The visuals are great and really but the acting could have been more better!

So far this is my first BL I'm watching after Gelboys and I can say they tried!!

The cinematography was impressive, too! Hopefully, they secure a better budget for Season 2 to elevate the production even more.

And they should never try to end a drama like that again, it doesn't give longing and what to look forward to! Rushed ending too with little to no reason for the episode!

Clichê bem feito, química absurda e cenas marcantes

Confesso: entrei em Top Form sem grandes expectativas. A premissa do veterano carismático ameaçado pelo novato promissor já foi usada até demais no mundo dos BLs, e eu achei que seria mais uma daquelas histórias recicladas com um casal bonitinho e cenas mornas. Mas, felizmente, eu estava errada. A série realmente faz jus ao burburinho que tem causado, e em vários momentos, entrega até mais do que promete.

Desde os primeiros episódios, fica claro que a química entre Jin e Akin não é brincadeira. A tensão entre eles é elétrica, o tipo de coisa que não se ensaia, acontece. A forma como os dois personagens se provocam, se medem e se desafiam acaba sendo muito mais envolvente do que qualquer enredo mirabolante. E quando a rivalidade começa a se desfazer e dá espaço a uma relação mais intensa (e sim, bem mais física), a série acerta de novo: a transição é natural, e você acredita em cada passo, cada toque, cada olhar demorado.

Agora, preciso falar da cena do mel. Sim, aquela cena!!! Já vi muita coisa em BL, cenas quentes, forçadas, lindas, embaraçosas, mas essa foi uma das mais bem executadas que vi nos últimos tempos. Ela é ousada sem ser vulgar, sensual sem cair no exagero, e ainda serve de virada narrativa. Depois dela, a dinâmica entre os dois muda completamente. O clima fica mais íntimo, mais cru, mais honesto. E o mérito não é só do roteiro, mas também da direção, que soube filmar desejo com elegância, e dos atores, que entregaram tudo ali.

Mas nem tudo são flores. Alguns diálogos soam ensaiados demais, especialmente quando tentam explorar os bastidores da indústria do entretenimento, há momentos em que parece que os personagens estão lendo um release institucional. Além disso, os coadjuvantes são, na maior parte do tempo, decorativos. Dava pra dar mais profundidade àqueles que orbitam o casal principal, mas a série prefere focar exclusivamente nos dois protagonistas, o que não é exatamente um problema, mas deixa o universo da história um pouco vazio.

Mesmo assim, Top Form não decepciona. É o tipo de BL que sabe o que está entregando: tensão, romance, desejo e dois protagonistas com tanta química que até as brigas têm carga erótica. A série não reinventa nada, mas executa tudo com segurança e estilo. E olha, se vier uma segunda temporada e com mais cenas como a do mel, já pode colocar no topo da minha lista.

Me encanto

Me encanto fue una muy buena adaptación del material original (Dakaretai Otoko) aunque por razones obvias ciertas partes se suavizaron un poco. Y la química entre los protagonistas fue muy buena era casi como si hubieran traído a los personajes de Takato y Chunta a la realidad. Disfrute mucho cada capitulo incluso aquellos que me destrozaban emocionalmente aunque sabia lo que iba a pasar. Smart y Boom lo hicieron funcionar a la perfección. También el resto de los personajes hizo muy buen trabajo. Aunque me hubiese gustado profundizar un poco mas en ellos también.

Sorpresa inesperada

Me considero fan del anime y manga del que tiene origen la serie, Dakaichi, le tengo mucho cariño a lo largo de los años, cuando de la nada me salió en redes sociales que estaba en emisión los 3 primeros capítulos, sin mucha esperanza les di una oportunidad, para esto en mi vida e visto una serie thai y nunca e tenido buenas experiencias con las adaptaciones de animes a la vida real.
Pero este fue totalmente la excepción, desde el primer capítulo me mantuvo atrapada, si bien la adaptación se dieron la libertad de cambiar la trama original para hacerla más apta para todos, no me quejo, le supieron dar su propia vida y sello a Top Form sin perder la esencia del original, hasta llegó a gustarme más que la versión original.
Tanto la dirección, guion, fotografía, maquillaje, todo se complementó de forma genial, genuina.
Las actuaciones, están a otro nivel, sobre todo los protagonistas, Boom y Smart, lograron captar a los personajes originales de una manera única, traspasando esa química de la pantalla, manteniéndome embobada toda la serie, ahora ni siquiera me imagino a alguien más interpretándolo.
Y estas son algunas de las razones por la que la recomiendo, hayan visto o no la versión en la que se basa la serie, cualquiera puede disfrutarlo y engancharse, ya que habla de forma muy cercana a lo que es la industria del entretenimiento hasta la fecha de hoy, donde muchas veces puede ser lamentable .
