i've gone off this - i feel bad for Duang he is such a sweet guy & he deserves better then the people that r around him; neither his family, friends or love interest r worthy of him(!) if anything, they treat him like sh*t & he keeps coming back for more. he doesn't know his own self worth, cause everyone make sure to remind him at every turn that he's lacking. as if they r perfect - in comparison he is perfect, he for sure is kind, considerate, loving, caring etc... while they only use & take from him - then treat him like a joke or a verbal punching bag - not cause he deserves it, but cause they can - cause they know that no matter what they do or say, he won't put his foot down or cut ties. he will understand & forgive, worse - be back for more. this is so sad IMO& i am 99% sure that everyone enjoying this, is more focused on the bedroom chemistry between the mains then the real meat of the relationship, cause sorry Qin is a headache no one should get into bed with - literally & figuratively. ironic that this is sold as a light romcom when it's really a psychological mind f*ck.

What a dejavù

Seeing the dinner at Qin's house, my mind brought me back to 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒏𝑻𝒚𝒑𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔. I couldn't help but notice and appreciate the similarities. Anyway, I have a question: why did Qin's parents leave for their date? Their son was visiting, introducing his (almost) boyfried, but they went to the cinema. Just, why? Furthermore, the double question reminded me of 𝑼𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝑾𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏. There is a scene at the beach: Korn and In ask at the same time about being a couple. The best thing about this scene (Duang with you) is how they look at each other and their Eskimo kiss.

i think your review lacks depth and overuses generic statements that don't land. this is not a psychological mindfuck and duang is not a mistreated character. it's true that his parents see him as goofier and maybe not that serious about anything in life, which is a plotline that hasn't been tackled yet and will change once they see his son being 100% serious about qin. that's about it in your review.

duang's friends adore him. it's insane that anyone would watch the show that everyone else is watching and think that they're doing any sort of bullying. they are devoted to him and worry sick about him - they go along with every crazy shenanigan of duang. jamie wanted to punch some guy that made his best friend upset. pae catfished some dude to help him get a date. they're constantly checking on him and even called duang's situationship to please get him home. because that wasn't enough, they followed duang and qin to the park to check up on duang.

qin has never insinuated duang is stupid or incompetent - weird, sure. because he is. but he's always been the #1 person to encourage him. when duang was feeling guilty about his dancing qin told him not to, because he could tell duang was trying his best, and that was a 100% in his eyes. he loves duang in his own ways, sometimes not as loudly as duang does him, but just as deeply. qin is going through his own shit and he's still learning how to love someone. it might not be the best, but it's still good.

as for the line about people sticking around just for the bedroom chemistry you must be widely overstimating people's free time. nobody would rate a show this high for 3 minutes of shirtless kisses and a foggy blowjob in the span of 9 episodes.
