a fun story about understanding each other

I liked it. It wasn’t a deep drama but had just the right amount of comedy in it, which made it so much more fun and balanced. The story still had a real meaning, how to really understand each other.

Max and Nat were amazing as Sun and Nuea, you could tell which character was which just from their expressions and body language. Their growth as actors is clear here, and with good directing this drama was both touching and fun.

This was something not very stereotypical but confusing

I kept this one on hold for a long time cz of the bad reviews and body swap is just not my thing. But once i watched it i liked it instantly. I've not watched the prequel so I'm gonna review just by watching this.

I liked that this drama was short (10 eps, 30 mins) given that there was not much story. For the 1st time i like the character cooheart played. Usually although i like him i find his characters weirdly annoying. He looked soo damn gorgeous and he did a good job with a cold character.

The reason i minus 2 points is cz i just couldn't keep up with them switching and both of them played both the characters in a similar way so i couldn't tell when they were who. The 1st 5 eps were like really good after which i kinda got lost for an episode and now I'm just kinda waiting for the problems to be fixed. Also some places the acting and screenplay is kinda questionable😅 like a stage drama instead of a online drama. Then in the last episode i was just super confused but i guess i get the point.

But i liked Nat's new look🤭🤭. Also TempToy are soo damn cute🥺❤️❤️. I liked how for the entire series although Max is the top, Nat played the top character. Never expected that considering their size difference. Also i like how sun was a green flag but that the lead who shows up to save his love anytime there's a problem. He was nowhere close to perfect. He was not rich and worked hard to earn. Usually the tops are just naturally talented...iykyk.

Overall I'd say its a good watch, not great but good

Different concept

Instead of having a typical storyline from beginning to end, this series focuses on a specific “bump in the road” of an already established relationship. The characters were from an earlier series, Y Destiny, but you don’t have to watch that to watch this one(though it may help understand their personalities/relationship dynamics a little better).

The series is slow paced all throughout, but Max/Nat still show what good actors they are. While this is not their best series, it is well cast with good production value. The addition of Earth as Madam was perfect casting for a character with attitude. Im sure it was a breeze for him to pull off. I also appreciate the concept they were going for of a short segment in the life of a relationship instead of the full blown story.

That being said, there were issues in executing the final product to the viewers including;

1. never skimp on a kiss scene, and don’t use actors who can’t follow through in this genre. I don’t know if it was the editing, the actors or what happened, but a first kiss should never be filmed like that.

2. The scenes were often cut short, jumping around and leaving a lack of connectivity or explanation. This forced the viewer to fill in the blanks or have a harder time following along.

3. Flashbacks were way over used. Without them this could easily have been 6-8 ep. Viewers do not have chicken memories and do not need a barrage of what they have already just seen or repeated multiple times. That time should have been better spent filming more story, detailed scenes to connect the story better.

4. The dialogue in the personal videos should have been more original in tempo, meaning and style. They became very mundane the more we got.

Overall I’ll be generous because I really liked the cast and concept. It was different from the typical format. I can also overlook some of it because it’s Max/Nat.

Lesson learned- don't make wishes for a BL couple or they might come true

Disclaimer

What I am writing here are my views and thoughts about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a higher or lower score and why it is better/worse than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly respect that.

Let me start off by saying that in a previous statement in the feeds, I stated that I was not paying premium for the remaining two episodes- I would wait until they come out. Well, I waited for episode nine, and because I just want this series to no longer be on my currently watching list, I watched episode ten illegally. And honestly, I am glad that I did so that I can move this nonsense to my completed list.

The first time I saw Max and Nat in a series where they were leads was in 'Y Destiny'. I found that the story was one of the best in a sea of crappy storylines. This series here is a continuation of their characters Sun and Nuea from 'Y Destiny', so that's why I decided to give it a go.

And now, after finishing this series, I regret it. As I have said previously, I understand the gist of the storyline, but the continuous switching of the main characters back and forth annoyed me. Like, they could have learnt their lessons if they had remained in each other's bodies and learn about each other's lives, like Freaky Friday. That just made more sense to me than whatever was shown to us here. I personally also did not feel anything for the secondary couple and just did not pay attention to them and their storyline whenever they came on my screen.

I only liked two things about this series. One was the supporting character that Earth Katsamonnat Namwirote played as Mum. That character had flair, and I enjoyed it every time Earth came on the screen- and that's why they got a four. If Earth were not in it, the acting/ cast score would have been lower. Every other character, I just don't give a hoot for. Another thing is that the OST still bangs as it is the same song from 'Y Destiny, ' of which I gave the score of 6.5 there, and so I did it here as well. On a personal note, I felt that ten episodes were a bit too much for this series and that fewer episodes would have been better for the story to progress. I can't even recommend this series to you guys to watch, because the two things that I like are not enough for any person to go through this series.

Suntiny… HUH, what they hell did I just watch?

I was looking forward to watching this, thinking it would be a good laugh after all it's a comedy with a bit of heart-felt-ness put in, boy was I wrong. I've seen other things that had the same concept as this with switching bodies/soul swap and I have to say those where by FAR, way better then this was.

First, (if I am wrong/ not remembering right please tell me) Thurs said something like try not to switch bodies to often otherwise they can get stuck that way permanenting, so if that is the case why in the hell would you have sex knowing that is one way you switch bodies? Just because horny ass Nuea wants it doesn't mean you should do it.

This would have been better if they made it where both of them after a few episodes started to ACT like the other. For two people who have been together as long as they have did not know each other AT ALL in order to act they them. I'm not saying they would be 100% each other, but come on, Sun kind of tried, even though he messed up by talking like himself more often than not, but Nuea I didn't see him trying really at all, he only gave a crap about himself and not Sun or Sun's job. Now yes he wasn't a teacher at far, but to just sit there playing a game why they kid is there or playing a game with the kid is just wrong, he could have at least TRIED to act like a teacher. Sun could of shown him what he needed to do in order to past as Sun, but no that didn't happen and I don't think Nuea would have done it anyway. (If you can't tell I didn't really like Nuea at all)

This had nothing changing from episode to episode, nether one of them talked to the other, they only talked to the video alone, yea that's really helpful... NOT! There is so much more I can go on with, but I need to move on...

As for the side couple, Temp and Toy, I didn't really care much for them, if it wasn't in here I wouldn't have missed anything really, I kind of didn't see the point in them, just to irritate me maybe? Temp is another one I didn't like. He kept pushing or trying to blackmail Toy and he just irked me every time I saw him. Oh and that forced "kiss" (I do this because he never touched his lips!, another minus to Pech/Temp) was just so uncalled for!

Toy I loved him I though he was a sweetie, and should have ha a better person for him. Plus I didn't really feel anything when they both were together. Acting wise since this is there first roll. Wave did I really good job, I felt his emotions and saw them, as for Pech, He seems kind of like a dead fish. I didn't really feel anything with him, maybe he will get better, but so far Blah.

This couple paring I don't feel at all, their nonexistent chemistry says a lot.

Max and Nat got a bad hand in this series. I love them but this series gave them nothing good... now don't get me wrong Max did a great job in his roll even if it wasn't that great of a series, Nat didn't do to back, but he has done better, it seem like he was trying way to hard being Sun.

All in all it got boring real fast, not really something to write home about, it's like they forgot how to write the plot to keep you wanting more, instead you wanted it to end. MaxNat need something better than this. Ok, I should keep going, I haven't said everything in here but my hand is getting tired so I'm stopping. Bye!

Why?

Body switch drama's are a treaturous thing as it is. This execution was the absolute worst I ever saw.
I love both Max and Nat, mostly for the fact that although they do lack in the acting department, they are adorable, have great chemistry and amazing kisses. All of these could not save this drama (pun intended). The plot is stupid (why turn to a shaman for ED? Consult a doctor dammit!). There is no real story, no real drama points, nothing. It seems to build on the previous series where they played the same characters, but that was so long ago that I forgot most of that. A little refresher would have been nice. There is chemistry/tension at the wrong moments (Kaeng and Sun) that doesn"t lead anywhere. A late addition problem (the money) is not really a problem. Some strange conversation about virginity... The list goes on.

I had my hopes up for the secondary couple but their first kiss was the cringiest thing I ever saw. I don't think they even touched lips. Please cast people that actually want to kiss each other!

I hate Nat's red hair. I hate the over the top wardrobe, I hate the senseless trip mr shaman makes to Japan (or was it China) which just prolongs the misery. I hate the fake crying. I hate the attempts at humor. I hate the music (don't let actors who can't sing for shit sing the OST!)

Anything good? Yes. Earth (Cooheart) as Madam. The only one with everything on point. Acting, wardrobe, hair. But very much the golden ring on the monkey. It made up for nothing.

I'm so sorry for Max and Nat, but this BL goes to the absolute bottom of my completed list.

It started great, but then...

This series had a great start, the story looked interesting and Max and Nat are very good actors with amazing chemistry.
Unfortunatly they didn't do very wel in each others skin, that was just not very convincing.

The story repeated itself too much, so after 3 episodes it became less and less interesting...
The funny moments were a bit over the top and normaly i hate that, but it did fit in this series so i wasn't mad at it.
I liked the recordings they made about their feelings, for me that was a highlight of the episodes.
The visuals were very good, music not so.
One very anoying point was that the dramatic moments were too long, so they became very boring..

Earth, First and Talay did a great job, they are also good actors.
Unfortunatly the second couple Pech and Wave didn't do a very good job acting and they had not a single spark of chemistry.

You can watch it, it is still entertaining, but don't expect too much.
I won't watch it again.

Great NC's however poor writing

This one just didn’t hit. At all. actually. I actually really love Max and Nat they have amazing chemistry together. AND when a couple has great chemistry i eat the show up normally. However, it felt like the same thing happens again and again and again and again in literally every episode, it got wayyyyyy too repetitive, and for me when something is too repetitive it just gets frustrating to watch and when I get frustrated with something the entire show will just get boring. The episodes are short but feel super long. They are hard to get through even though I love the main couple. I was over the plot by episode 4 already. I did get it done bc as i said I love Max and Nat and their NC's here aint no different.

If I have to mention one of the things I absolutely loved was the way the NC scenes were beautiful and quite creative when they switched bodies. I loved that they didn't sway away from Max being the bottom when they were in the switched personas. I also loved the strong connection between the couple, that might come from them being an established couple, you really could feel the deep sense of affection and love they had for each other. Which was honestly the only reason i got through this show.

Suntiny — I Honestly Don't Understand the Appeal

I rarely ask myself why a drama exists, but Suntiny made me do exactly that. From the very first episodes, I kept wondering who thought this story was a good idea and, even more surprisingly, why talented actors agreed to bring it to life. I know many viewers enjoyed it, and I genuinely respect that. I just couldn't see what they were seeing.

The biggest problem is the writing.

The body-swap premise could have been fun if it had been used to explore identity, relationships, or even comedy in a clever way. Instead, the script feels like it repeats the same jokes and situations without ever building toward anything meaningful. Entire episodes go by with very little happening, leaving the impression that the story is constantly moving without actually going anywhere.

The tone also feels confused. One moment the series asks me to laugh at exaggerated comedy, and the next it suddenly expects me to become emotionally invested in the romance. For me, those two sides never blend together. Rather than complementing each other, they constantly undermine one another, making it difficult to take either seriously.

The cast deserved better.

Max Kornthas and Nat Natasit are experienced enough to make almost any situation watchable, but even they can't overcome a script that gives them so little to work with. I never blamed the actors while watching. I blamed the material. Their performances are serviceable, yet none of the emotional moments truly land because the writing never earns them.

From a technical standpoint, the series is perfectly acceptable. The production is colourful, the direction is competent, and nothing is particularly ugly to look at. But good production values can't save a story that never convinced me to care about its characters or their journey.

Final Thought

Suntiny is one of those rare dramas where I finished every episode asking the same question: why? Why this story? Why these characters? Why this direction? I know it found an audience, especially among long-time MaxNat fans, but for me, no amount of chemistry or fan service could compensate for a script that felt empty from beginning to end. This is simply a BL that never worked for me.

Tedious to watch

I really tried to give this a chance, but even getting through the first six episodes felt like a chore—and they’re only 30 minutes each! I can’t imagine sitting through all 12. The storyline is painfully slow and repetitive, probably because of the constant body-switching. I’ve seen other series with the same theme, but this is by far the weakest. It just doesn’t hook the audience. The only saving graces are the fashion, the aesthetic, the solid acting, and the surprisingly good chemistry of the side couple.

Suntiny: The Only Thing That’s Hot is the Mess

This series is an absolute mess. I watched the first two episodes and knew immediately that this wasn’t going to work. The trailer made it seem like the characters switched bodies once, but I was completely wrong. They kept switching bodies/souls back and forth, which made the entire story messy and confusing. What was meant to be a light-hearted, meaningful series where two people learn about each other turned into a disaster.

The side characters don't even add anything to the plot, and the NC scenes were a hot mess, super cringy. Also, most of the actors can’t act. It was just awful. Please, for the love of drama, write a better script, with a better plot.

Suntiny? More like Sun-TY, because you’ll be saying goodbye to your time if you watch this. (Thank you, next.)

It's becoming increasingly difficult to keep watching this series

Honestly, it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep watching this series with each episode. It's disappointing to admit this because I love MaxNat, and I genuinely think the plot is unique and interesting. However, the execution is lacking, and the repetitiveness is exhausting.
Though I don't know much about TempToy, their nonexistent chemistry tells me that I'm not missing much. Honestly, the only reason I've kept watching this series is for First and Earth. I'm truly interested in how their characters will develop in the story, and I'm eager to see their acting. And one last thing, whoever thought of turning Nat into a red-haired cyber twink should seriously rethink their career choice.
