Insanely Good
I genuinely loved Punks Triangle! It’s pure gold—fresh, breathtaking, and brilliantly executed. The concept is unique, and it’s one of those BLs that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The story follows Chiaki, a reserved and awkward guy who’s passionate about fashion and inspired by someone. The plot is simple, yet it manages to feel distinct. Chiaki finds himself torn between Enaga and EA, only to discover that they’re the same person. He meets Enaga at fashion school where they become project partners. There’s a reason EA needs to hide his identity, but I won’t say more—you’ll have to watch it yourself to avoid spoilers.
The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and the height difference is absolutely adorable. Honestly, I loved everything about this series—from the acting and cinematography to the plot, character development, and even the soundtrack. Every song perfectly matches the mood of each scene.
If I could rate it 10000/10, I absolutely would. Overall, Punks Triangle is a masterpiece and a must-watch. 💖😍

So much so that i read a manga for the first time in my life because i simply had to know what is going to happen next! Finally an original plot, and bl that actually has a plot! Characters are amazing, story is amazing, actors are amazing and music and fashion slaps! I have that intro song on repeat!

THE VIBES!!!
The vibes of this show are so good!! Never thought I would see a punk BL but I am so here for it! The styling of the main characters are great. The outfits, the piercings, the hair (AEs hair is to dream of) are all some of the best I have ever seen in a BL where there is a specific aesthetic represented. And it really helps bring you into the story. Had the styling been of the show would not have been as good as it is. The show still would have been good but great styling always help. The plot itself is also really good. The day and night seperation of the plot was interesting. I do wish there had been a bit more nightlife scenes (I like seeing Chiaki flustered), but it was understandable why there wasn´t.
The characters had good chemistry both in day and in night mode. Both of them basically taking turns being confident and getting flustered, they were both so cute!
The ending felt a little bit rushed. I do feel like the ending works but I wish it had been a little bit longer.
Needles to say I highly recomend this show.

I’m kinda shocked how high the ratings are
I literally got insane amounts of second hand embarrassment each episode. The only thing that kept me going was how fine AE was. And the fact that he only ended up finding out he was AE in the last episode it was sooo anticlimactic. And they were always doing freaky stuff just for them to have a boring kiss. (But tbh I could spot that was gonna happen a mile away.) I feel like it needs a second season cus what was that ending 💔Overall: Would I recommend it? No. Do I like the story? Ehh.. Did I like the acting? I feel bad cus the ml is a cutie pie but his acting kinda made it a hard watch.

Amazing!
I appreciate a good change of pace in BL, BUT that does not excuse the fact I wanted to slap Chiaki on numerous occasions! Lol From the beginning it was pretty obvious what was going to happen but somehow Chiaki managed to do the cult classic cute/shy stuff and it was hard to get any romantic flare. I wanted more specifically between himself and Enaga. The music went well and enjoyed the crap out of the grungy punk theme. Overall I highly recommend but is definitely not my fav. 8 eps is enough but every minute is gonna leave you wanting moreWas this review helpful to you?

AE's Dilemma
Japanese productions stand out due to their unique style of delivery. They do not shy away from tackling different topics and their acting is of a higher standard. Their body language, speech and esthetics add to the quality of work. This series was no different. Though the story in itself lacked a certain punch to it, the production, scenery and acting delivered a polished piece.Chiaki, blunt, awkward and singleminded, loved two things, fashion and AE. AE, cool exciting and handsome, seemed untouchable until he did come into reach. Chiaki felt seen and chosen. Then, he wasn't. Enaga, clumsy introverted and introspective, observed the effects he had on Chiaki. He got to see the real version of Chiaki. Chiaki had one rule. No lies. AE/Enaga's dilemma.
AE creates the avenues for freedom and self-expression without inhibitions. AE's character is very vivid. In both personas, he hesitates from hurting him. It is with Enaga that Chiaki can be himself. Instinctively, Chiaki separates reality with fantasy with the avoidance of the kiss. Chiaki's confusion and hurt due to the deception is completely understood. Both versions deceived him.
The ending was not as impactful as the previous episodes. As Chiaki said, he expected a better confession. So did I. The previous slight touches between felt very intimate. The last scene felt more like good friends than intended lovers. AE had lost a bit of his aura. I'm not a fan of a constant flow of voiced thoughts but theirs did not feel obtrusive. This is definitely worth the watch.

I expected a lot from this show, but sadly, it didn't deliver :<
(Spoiler-light)I came into this drama with high expectations. I heard so many great things about the drama from others, I loved the manga and hoped the adaptation would capture the same clever premise: model hiding his true identity from his number one fan, only to end up partnered with that fan on a project. The concept is excellent, but sadly the execution wastes most of that potential.
Premise & pacing
The first few episodes were… fine.not great, not terrible. I kept watching, but honestly, I thought about dropping it more than once. The story had potential, but it felt like the show didn’t know how to build tension or make the big moments actually hit.
Acting
This is where things really split.
Yasunari Fujibayashi (Ae / Enaga) — Brilliant!! Fujibayashi sells the duality perfectly: the two personas feel like distinct people. His body language, the way he talked, even how he stood, everything changed depending on whether he was Ae or Enaga. It was really impressive, and he’s the major reason I kept watching.
Chiaki’s actor — Unfortunately… I’m sorry, but the acting just didn’t work for me. He kept making the same “I’m about to cry or throw up” face in almost every scene. It got distracting fast. He has beautiful and expressive eyes yess, but pleasee, show us some emotion!! it’s as if every scene demands the same reaction. That made many intimate or supposedly interesting moments feel hollow or awkward, and I found myself cringing rather than empathizing. If he had more range or better direction, the show could’ve felt way stronger.
Chemistry & relationships
Between Ae and Chiaki? Honestly, nothing special. I didn’t feel the connection at all. Their relationship also has a weird power imbalance, and the drama never really talks about it, it just pretends it’s fine. A lot of their scenes gave me secondhand embarrassment. I had to pause so many times just to recover and rethink my life before continuing and question myself why am I still watching. I found myself skipping over their scenes most of the time.
But Enaga and Chiaki? So cuteee. So much better. Whenever Enaga showed up, it felt like the show came back to life. That’s why it was disappointing when he stopped appearing as much near the end. I actually think the final scene should’ve used Enaga, not Ae — he’s the one Chiaki actually fell for.
Music & production
The soundtrack is great. The intro is sooo catchy, honestly, I never skipped the intro. The music fits the drama well.
Visually, the show is competent: styling and cinematography suit the model punk world setting, and production values are generally solid. It’s just the character work and direction that disappoint.
Final thoughts
This drama had so much potential, but weak acting from one of the main characters and some strange writing choices hurt it a lot. The manga was way better. I’m glad I finished it because of Yasunari , but overall, the show ended up being a bit of a disappointment :<

A pleasant, easy-to-watch BL with a fresh fashion concept
If this show hadn’t just popped up on one of the sites, I probably wouldn’t have bothered with it at all. The love-triangle trope doesn’t interest me in the slightest. I ended up checking out the trailer anyway. I’m really glad I did, and I actually like how they played a little trick on us with the title. The strongest aspect of this BL was building the whole story around alternative fashion. I like how they translated the clothing/design idea into human relationships, and how we only got the full picture in the last two episodes. At first I thought it was just about making connections, but it turned out to be about something much deeper - stitching together things that don’t quite fit, adapting them to new circumstances… exactly like what happened with our main characters’ relationship.
It was interesting to see the reversal at the end: it was the star chasing the ordinary guy, not the other way around. One more shout-out to what’s already been said: the actor absolutely nailed both roles and played them brilliantly. However, it’s pretty unrealistic that Chiaki, who kept stressing how hypnotised he was by “that gaze”, never connected Enaga with AE. They had so many close interactions, yet Enaga’s entire disguise was just a wig and a little hat. I wish they’d gone for some heavier changes. The ending also felt way too rushed. I get that Chiaki was mostly pretending to be angry at Enaga rather than actually being furious, but it still resolved too quickly. And honestly, I never warmed to Chiaki’s facial expressions, they felt exaggerated to me.
Overall, for the concept, the fashion, and the nice soundtrack I’d give it 7, but there’s definitely room for improvement! I think a second season would be awesome - showing them working together in the industry, dealing with rivals, etc.

Ding Ding
Once and a while a BL will really capture a unique vibe. This series had me from the get go and I legitimately press play so fast when I see another episode has been released! I love every second of every episode and it always leaves me feeling punked because I want MORE. Some may not enjoy this as much as I do but it is super quirky and has just enough shadow aspects, nervousness and adventure to keep me well entertained. I enjoy both leads acting, performance and feel that they work really well together. The episodes are short...the series is short, so have a watch and have some angsty fun!Was this review helpful to you?

Kawaii ne...and oh! those mesmerising eyes!
This is cute and quirky...and the actor playing AE is plain ravishing with the most beautiful pair of eyes ever!!BL-needle Score: 8. High BL-ness
I binge-watched all three episodes of this drama and liked it a lot....Even though I find Chiaki's nervous-fanboi character to be a tad to OTT and affected at times, but that's true for almost all JBLs that have such characters.....in other words, that is not stopping me from really enjoying this drama.
Both the actors are doing a great job I feel...and they really do make AE look very different in his two avataars....which is really commendable..its not just the wig, or the piercings, or the attire...its like the entire persona undergoes a change...just like how he tells Chiaki about clothes giving courage to people.
This promises to be entertaining and mostly feel good.. and with such a gorgeous man strutting around, I am definitely gonna turn up for the next episodes 😍

wanted different pacing
Overall: I wish something had happened earlier so we had more time in the 'after' part. 8 episodes about 25 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala (not in Korea or Japan) https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5836/punks-triangle-2025Content Warnings: manipulation, vomiting
Watch Suggestions for 6, 7, 8 to remove angst
- skip episode 6
- episode 7 watch 6:30-8:25 and 10:55-23
- episode 8 watch 14:50-end
What I Liked
- styling
- easy to understand premise
- supportive classmates/instructor
Room For Improvement
- voicing inner thoughts/exposition dump
- nonsense: bit of a Clark Kent situation happened, the piercing scene
- too many flashbacks
- rushed finale

When Manga Meets Meaning: Why Punks Triangle (2025) Truly Works
Punks Triangle (2025) is a BL adaptation that genuinely impressed me—and that says a lot coming from a super fan of manga and Japanese BL adaptations. Having read the manga a year ago, I went into this drama with high expectations and a careful eye, but it delivered in all the right ways. The adaptation respects the original story while bringing its emotions to life with a realism that feels fresh and sincere. The characters are thoughtfully portrayed, and the chemistry translates effortlessly from page to screen. Instead of exaggerating the drama, the series allows the tension and emotional depth to speak for themselves. The pacing is solid, the performances feel authentic, and the overall atmosphere stays true to what made the manga special. As someone deeply invested in manga and Japanese BLs, Punks Triangle stands out as a well-crafted adaptation that understands both its audience and its source material.
