A cerebral, symbolic, and emotionally complex BL—not your typical romance.
"Therapy" is a bold and unconventional short series that brings both sexual and psychological tension to the table—for both the actors and the audience. Every detail in this series feels deliberate and precise. Although I wasn’t able to watch it with English subtitles, I personally translated every line, pausing throughout to understand the dialogue and context fully. From the very first episode, the director establishes that the relationship between the two characters is strictly transactional. This is made clear through the therapist’s precise actions, starting with the signing of the contract. His emotional detachment is evident and consistent, setting a professional tone. This is not your typical "boy’s love" series—there is little to no emotional reciprocity between the leads, at least in the traditional romantic sense.
One of the standout aspects of the series is the use of color symbolism in the room settings, each reflecting the evolving emotional and psychological undertones of their interactions:
Black Room: Symbolizes raw desire. The sexual encounter here seems to exist solely to fulfill the client’s physical urges.
White Room: Represents clinical detachment. The interaction is mechanical, emphasizing the "therapy" aspect of the relationship.
Purple/Pink Room: Signals a shift. The client begins to desire not just physical intimacy, but also an emotional and romantic connection with the therapist.
Interestingly, it’s not the first three sessions that provoke the most sexual tension—but the last one. Despite the emotionally detached performances, the final session brings a layered complexity that is both arousing and unsettling.
Overall, "Therapy" stands out for its graphic storytelling, psychological themes, and unique visual direction. It’s a series that warrants deeper analysis and discussion, especially when it comes to the director’s intent and the emotional ambiguity portrayed. If you're looking for a BL that is more cerebral than romantic—and are open to dark, symbolic, and emotionally complex narratives—this is definitely one to watch.

holy positions
Overall: this is a very explicit short series. It is a bit challenging to rate as it didn't have much plot, though I did like the plot that was there. 4 episodes about 15 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/6290/therapy-2025-e01Overall
- I chuckled at the warm up and how the one guy wore socks and whatever those things were
- props to the actors who seemed comfortable imitating the most positions I've ever seen in a short time frame
Room For Improvement
- it episode 3 he should have started with fingers/slower especially since the other guy said he was nervous about pain
- open ending

More like soft porn
This is hard to rate as a drama, because there is not much of a story. It reminded me a lot of Sexual therapy, just a lot bolder. There was a little bit of a storyline and it was a clear storyline, there were no questions of what was going on. No jumping or cut off scenes, so that was done well.
The actors did a good job, you clearly saw the doubt at first on the face of the student, and you saw him graduatly falling in love. And the straight face of the teacher, you also saw him really enjoying himself in he last episode.
I think a lot of people can learn some lessons from this in all the positions there are in having sex.
The visuals were great. The music was subtle, hardly noticable.
For me one time watching was enough. This is probably more interesting for people who like to watch bl's with a lot of nudity scenes.
I rather watch bl's with a nice story and leave something to guess when it comes to the intimate scenes. When you see what they are doing, but don't explicitly SEE what they are doing...if you understand what i mean.

This is Grornopaphic Comedy
This is neither sexy nor romantic. It is, however, highly amusing, absurdly (and strangely) sweet, and utterly devoid of story. If it wasn’t so perfectly set up to keep the giggles coming it would be bloody awful.I admire the actors more than I can say. They both managed to film downright Escheresque gaynastics for long enough to give us an hour of quite explicit comedy that was completely free of corpsing, breaking character, or smirks. They are both godlike in their professionalism.
The plot is one that focuses purely on self-discovery and, I think, falling in love. There’s really no story. There’s just this weird process between a man and his therapist, with the only twist coming early in chapter one, when the client let it be known that he was expecting a woman. He isn’t disappointed for long though. it turns out the therapist can drop him to his knees just by touching his forearm… no, not his firearm. His forearm. It’s magic…✨
Anyway, the flustered client ends up being completely seduced by the first kiss, and decides maybe men aren’t so bad (he’ll learn). The rest of it is the client’s prolonged and energetic embracing of his therapist’s methods, from a range of angles, and accompanied by a rather silly soundtrack, and the clients moans, cries, and grunts. It’s not a series that could have been longer, nor is it one that should be treated as wank-bank. It’s too absurd to be sexy, and too basic to be rewatchable. it’s just a romp.
I liked it, but for what it was. I’m glad I had no expectations going in…

What to add...?
This probably won't be for many viewers who like youthful-looking BL actors and are used to "more lively" à la fish kisses at the end of the series, and therefore I rather don't recommend it. And not even for many local users who take this piece seriously.Miniseroš exactly matches the character of East Asian production. Either projects predominate, often affected, heartless for the "Western" viewer (but we, who know Asia, can do it) with maximum fish kisses in sex, or the complete opposite, oraz, a bold, unconventional project. I don't even know of anything "in between" that would be produced (I still mean East Asia).
Kamasutra (I write it without diacritics on purpose) like a stitched one. In many cases, young gentlemen did it to their pubic bone, hip or thigh and I was rolling around laughing. Other times, on the contrary, everything was precise, as it should be.
Meaning? It made sense to me, simply Therapy! South Korea ...
I admire both actors. The therapist for the stony face behind the mask that I felt him trying to "perform" during the thrusts so that he didn't smile, and the other one - the client for the heckling (he heckled the most when the therapist was doing it to his bladder or kidney). I won't even get into the debate here about whether it's soft or something else, it definitely belongs here, the pubic area was not visible even from a distance, like in some projects where it's teeming with songbirds or sometimes even big eagles. I will definitely be in the minority here that gives a high rating, because for me it made sense, SYMBOLISM, from all my above observations and also with the emphasis on the very end of the series and also what is very Asian: "I, the client, am just straight and I expected a young girl as a therapist ..."
And now seriously. Nice fantasy of the one who invented it, wrote it, directed it. Only the music was horrible in some passages, like at a funeral, sometimes it was bearable, but it didn't suit me. Only at the very end of the last episode did the music finally hit the theme, because there... everything changed.

A TERAPIA, O SEXO E O SIMBOLISMO

Was this review helpful to you?
