vroom vroom
first: weiling and saitharn had the most compelling romance in this entire drama. I need a whole spinoff about weiling and saitharn and their domestic bliss post all of this bullshit.second: i do not ship kee and lalin. the show speedran through their romance so we barely got any cute scenes past the first episode, and then the rest of it was just kee lying about who she is and why she's with her, and we're supposed to believe that's not messed up and ship them anyway? yeah, no thanks. their relationship started under false pretenses and i think kee should have been made to pay for it with more than just the cold shoulder for 1 episode.
third: i hate the camera they used to film this. technically ridiculous choice.
other memorable moments:
at one point, lalin tells kee: "i know you've been through so much pain, but your dad loved you so, so much. how about you only treasure the good memories of him?" this is immediately after they find out that kee's father was abusive to kee's mother, and while i liked kee's response to this, this was just a really stupid thing to have the love interest say.
at another point, lalin gets kidnapped while her wife is doing donuts in the parking lot.
honourable mention: kee showing a woman who has just had a heart attack and is laying in a hospital bed a live feed of her missing daughter being held at gunpoint. what. the. fuck.

It's a masterpiece.
I've watched the first episode and... it's a masterpiece.The audio is absolutely flawless and as someone who works in video editing, that's something I notice immediately. Sound is what keeps us emotionally connected to the visuals, and here it's done perfectly. The music fits every scene so well, and the sound effects are just as precise. In many other GL series, audio is often something that lacks, so this really stands out.
And I haven't even talked about the visuals yet. The series is stunning, truly cinematic. Every shot feels intentional, and the color grading pulls you deeper into the story. It's also so refreshing to see a look that doesn't rely on heavy filters that mask facial details, it makes everything feel more real and emotionally connected.
This is, honestly, the highest quality GL I've seen so far. Every detail feels polished and professional.
The acting is incredible. Each performance feels natural and grounded, nothing overdone. You can feel the care and intention behind every moment. This isn't just content made to fill a screen... it's crafted storytelling.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved, the production team, the actors, everyone behind the scenes. You all deserve recognition for this amazing work.

Masterpiece
Broken (Of) Love" Episode 1 is a fantastic opener for this Thai GL revenge romance.The story masterfully blends love and revenge in a gripping tale of betrayal: Arisa returns to destroy the powerful family that ruined her past, only to feel an unexpected and magnetic pull toward their daughter, Lalin. It seamlessly mixes corporate intrigue, emotional scars, and sizzling early romantic sparks, hooking you right away.
Performances shine brightest. Faye Peraya delivers her usual commanding, intense energy with great depth. Atom Pariya impresses as a strong newcomer, natural, charismatic, and perfectly matching Faye. Their chemistry feels electric and addictive from the start.
Production is premium and cinematic, with stunning visuals, sharp cinematography, polished sets, and well timed music that elevates the drama.
Overall, Episode 1 is intriguing, emotionally charged, and visually impressive. A solid 10/10 start that leaves you craving more. Highly recommended for fans of intense GL with heart and heat! 💔✨

I'm rooting for the villain! Wasted potential
They started by deceiving us with the trailer! They made us believe that Arisa would be a race car driver, but unfortunately the problems didn't stop there:1) Their "love" isn't "believable" because they didn't show them starting to date. They jumped straight to the end. So all the declarations seem like empty words.
2) The scene cuts are often poorly executed; the editing isn't working well.
3) The script is so empty so far that we have no idea who Lyla is because they simply don't "introduce" her to us. We only know that she's the villain's daughter and that she's dating Arisa.
4) They're not managing to balance revenge with romance; it gives the impression that the series wasn't even supposed to be a romance, but at the last minute they decided to change their minds and filmed some scenes on top of it.
5) The pacing of the romance is also completely fantastical, it feels like bad fanfiction, where they want to take the characters to a certain point but don't know how to do it, so they just force a marriage proposal, a gigantic coincidence, a hidden camera, anything that isn't developing a good script.
6) The characters aren't charismatic, they don't have well-developed personalities, they simply threw the characters into the series and said: "Look, you're going to be silly and in love with her, and you're going to be gothic and complicated"... That's all they are. They didn't build the characters with mannerisms or "anything" special. They are just generic characters, the kind we find everywhere.
7) They still haven't explained what revenge Arisa wants to take, or why she wants to do it. The story is short, only 8 episodes, so this should have been shown in episode 1 or 2 so we could understand where the character is going. If they don't do that, we're left confused, and if we don't understand, we can't celebrate her achievements, because how can we celebrate something we don't even understand how it's supposed to be, and how Arisa wants it to be?
Honestly, I'm rooting for the villain to win, defeat Arisa, and for Lyla to find someone decent, because Arisa only lies and uses her.

Rushed, no emotional connection with story
The production is of high quality, but the storyline is rushed and difficult to connect with. The plot begins moving too quickly in the first episode, with the main couple being introduced almost immediately, there’s no time to build tension or a connection with the audience. GL productions thrive on tension and buildup, BOL lacks this entirely. Faye is typically a captivating actress, but this is not her best performance so far.Was this review helpful to you?
Good idea: Poor Execution
After watching it twice (yesterday via livestream), I still come to the same conclusion:Great idea, poor execution and script.
The show left so many things untold and rushed through so much. There was so much storytelling potential, but everything felt half assed just to move the plot forward. Nothing was really fleshed out, and many things felt very unrealistic (like Wit’s girlfriend suddenly running to Savior!Arisa after meeting her for two minutes) purely for the sake of the plot. The characters did not drive the story, the story drove the characters.
The revenge plot was completely pointless and a waste of screentime. There was no real villain except Arisa’s dad and Wit, which is fine, but some backstory for Mek would have been nice. Why was he so loyal? What pushed him to kill? We are told things, but nothing is actually shown. Everything is left for the viewers to fill in themselves.
Lalin’s aunt is suddenly no longer mentioned. The money laundering plot from Episode 3 is forgotten.
I could go on and on about what was wrong with the show, and this is just about the plot.
The romance was okay for a show like this. I didn't expect much there.
BOL is nice to rewatch for the fighting scenes. The rest is not really worth rewatching.
For a first show though, it was good. Faye can be proud of herself for pulling it off with a limited budget and no sponsors. BOL is still better than 80% of the GLs out there purely because of the plot idea and cast. The acting was superb.
Next time, please get better scriptwriters though. And also some sponsors.
The show gets a 5/10 from me after watching all episodes. And I'll write my review for EP8 later.
Faye has the vision, now she needs proper scriptwriters to put those ideas to live.

Episode 1 left me feeling pretty cold which is disappointing because the production quality is high and the plot looks interesting.My main issue is the rushing. They glossed over the couple’s first time how they fell in love and the start of their relationship with just a quick montage. I wish they had taken 2 or 3 episodes to properly establish the relationship so we could actually connect with them. The big daughter reveal in EP1 also fell flat. There was no buildup no time to feel the heartbreak or betrayal. Dropping it so early just didn’t land.
The show feels very different from the first trailer almost like a completely different series. Normally that ending for EP 1 would have given me goosebumps and a pit in my stomach but I felt nothing because I couldn’t connect with the characters.
Still I’m curious to see more. I hope Episode 2 slows down and fixes the pacing. It’s not bad it’s high quality but the emotional connection is missing right now.
Also, Atom's Acting was better than even Faye's. Faye's performance wasn't the best.
EP 2 the pacing is even worse and faster. The episode was all over the place and no time to sink anything in.
The pacing is so bad I would drop the show it if it wasn't for Faye. Please slow the show down. I get there's only 8 Episodes but you have to balance it.

good actresses, but bad writing
excellent casting, good actresses, but terrible dialogues. I don't know where Faye got her writers from, but the fact that one worked for "girl rules" should have been a good thing. Unfortunately they didn't do a good job with her series.I hope Faye realizes this and gets her next project handled by better writers.
Maybe buying a decent novel wouldn't be bad
