I didn’t expect to feel this invested
Broken of Love started with a level of care and quality that really surprised me in the best way. From the cinematography to the pacing, everything feels thoughtfully done and allows the story to unfold naturally without losing tension.Faye Peraya delivers a strong and controlled performance as expected, and Yarinda brings a very composed and compelling presence. But what stood out the most to me was Atom. As a newcomer, she feels incredibly natural on screen, and at times her performance is unexpectedly powerful. She doesn’t just keep up, she adds something fresh that really elevates the dynamic.
The chemistry between the leads feels organic and effortless, and the tone balances darker emotional elements with intimacy in a way that feels intentional rather than exaggerated.
The soundtrack is also a highlight. It’s honestly one of the strongest I’ve heard in a Thai GL and it enhances the emotional weight of each scene without overwhelming it.
Overall, this feels like a clear step forward, not just for the series itself, but for the genre. If they can maintain this level, Broken of Love has the potential to become something really special.

A dangerous game of emotions
What really stands out in Broken Of Love is how controlled everything feels on the surface while being chaotic underneath. Arisa isn’t just acting on revenge blindly, she’s calculating every move around Lalin and her family, which makes every interaction feel loaded. At the same time, Lalin feels like she’s slowly getting pulled in despite (apparently) not knowing the full truth. The tension comes less from big events and more from the fact that you’re always waiting for something to collapse. It’s uncomfortable in a good way, because you know someone is going to get hurt, but you still can’t look away. Was this review helpful to you?
The Emotional Depth of “Broken of Love”
Broken of Love is not another formulaic GL (Girls’ Love) series, but an exceptionally refined and multilayered Thai production that skillfully combines themes of revenge with psychological drama and emotional romance. From the very first minutes, the viewer is drawn into a world where the past is not merely a painful memory — it becomes a force that shapes the characters’ present and influences every decision they make. The screenplay deserves special recognition for avoiding cheap plot devices and unjustified twists. The story unfolds gradually, with great attention paid to emotional tension and character psychology. The creators deliberately choose a slower narrative pace, allowing the atmosphere to become increasingly heavy, suffocating, and filled with unspoken emotions. It is precisely this carefully built intensity that makes Broken of Love so deeply engaging. At the same time, the series never turns into an overwhelmingly bleak drama focused solely on suffering. The production maintains an excellent balance between dramatic scenes, romance, moments of tension, and action. Because of this, the story feels alive, and the emotions never seem forced. There are conflicts, painful conversations, family disputes, and psychological burdens, yet everything is portrayed naturally, without excessive theatricality. It is evident that Faye Peraya Malisorn — both as an actress and producer — understood exactly how much emotion should be shown at any given moment so the audience would never feel emotionally exhausted. That balance makes the series incredibly immersive to watch.
The central figure of the story is Arisa (Faye Peraya Malisorn) — a mysterious, cold, and emotionally distant woman. She operates within a ruthless corporate world while hiding the trauma of her parents’ deaths beneath a mask of professionalism, along with a desire for revenge that drives her entire life. However, Arisa is far from one-dimensional. Beneath her silence, glances, and carefully controlled reactions lies an enormous emotional weight, which Faye portrays with remarkable subtlety.
Arisa’s path crosses with Lalin (Atom Pariya Piyapanopas), who is her complete opposite — open, spontaneous, and expressive, yet trapped within the expectations of her dominant and controlling mother, Welling. The relationship between Arisa and Lalin develops slowly, yet incredibly naturally. This is where the series reveals its greatest strength. The trope of seeking revenge against the enemy’s family has appeared countless times in Asian dramas, but here it gains a fresher and far more emotional dimension thanks to its placement within a complicated GL relationship. Their growing feelings gradually clash with family loyalty, duty, and the pain of the past.

vroom vroom
first: weiling and saitharn had the most compelling romance in this entire drama. I need a whole spinoff about weiling and saitharn and their domestic bliss post all of this bullshit.second: i do not ship kee and lalin. the show speedran through their romance so we barely got any cute scenes past the first episode, and then the rest of it was just kee lying about who she is and why she's with her, and we're supposed to believe that's not messed up and ship them anyway? yeah, no thanks. their relationship started under false pretenses and i think kee should have been made to pay for it with more than just the cold shoulder for 1 episode.
third: i hate the camera they used to film this. technically ridiculous choice.
other memorable moments:
at one point, lalin tells kee: "i know you've been through so much pain, but your dad loved you so, so much. how about you only treasure the good memories of him?" this is immediately after they find out that kee's father was abusive to kee's mother, and while i liked kee's response to this, this was just a really stupid thing to have the love interest say.
at another point, lalin gets kidnapped while her wife is doing donuts in the parking lot.
honourable mention: kee showing a woman who has just had a heart attack and is laying in a hospital bed a live feed of her missing daughter being held at gunpoint. what. the. fuck.

Flawless
I watched the show and came away with a really positive impression overall. The first thing that stands out is the pacing—it feels smooth and well thought out, never dragging or rushing through important moments. They clearly put effort into structuring the content in a way that keeps viewers engaged from beginning to end. There’s a natural flow that makes it easy to follow along, even if you’re not already familiar with the topic.Visually, the video is appealing. The quality is clear, and the framing helps emphasize the main points without unnecessary distractions. Whether it’s the lighting, camera angles, or editing choices, everything feels intentional and polished. The transitions between scenes are especially well done, adding a professional touch without feeling overdone.
The audio is another strong point. It’s crisp and easy to understand, which is crucial for maintaining attention. Background sounds or music, if present, complement the main content rather than overpowering it. This balance helps create an immersive viewing experience.

Revenge with a little love story
"Broken of Love" was an exceptional production, offering a unique narrative. I particularly appreciate the genre of revenge dramas. My only minor critique is that the limited eight-episode run somewhat constrained the depth of the revenge plot. I am curious about the rationale behind not extending the vengeful elements further, although the character development was commendably thorough. The romantic subplot was well-executed. To enhance the audience's belief in the profound love between the characters, a more extensive portrayal of their initial romantic development might have been beneficial. This would have solidified the conviction in LanLan's deep affection as the series progressed.Overall, it was a remarkable show, especially considering it was their inaugural production. I anticipate that their subsequent endeavors will feature more extensive narratives and potentially a greater number of episodes. I hold Faye and Atom in high regard, and their contributions were excellent.

It's a masterpiece.
I've watched the first episode and... it's a masterpiece. The audio is absolutely flawless and as someone who works in video editing, that's something I notice immediately. Sound is what keeps us emotionally connected to the visuals, and here it's done perfectly. The music fits every scene so well, and the sound effects are just as precise. In many other GL series, audio is often something that lacks, so this really stands out.
And I haven't even talked about the visuals yet. The series is stunning, truly cinematic. Every shot feels intentional, and the color grading pulls you deeper into the story. It's also so refreshing to see a look that doesn't rely on heavy filters that mask facial details, it makes everything feel more real and emotionally connected.
This is, honestly, the highest quality GL I've seen so far. Every detail feels polished and professional.
The acting is incredible. Each performance feels natural and grounded, nothing overdone. You can feel the care and intention behind every moment. This isn't just content made to fill a screen... it's crafted storytelling.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved, the production team, the actors, everyone behind the scenes. You all deserve recognition for this amazing work.
Can't wait to see more!
@FabelEntertainment you're raising the bar in this industry.

Masterpiece
Broken (Of) Love" Episode 1 is a fantastic opener for this Thai GL revenge romance. The story masterfully blends love and revenge in a gripping tale of betrayal: Arisa returns to destroy the powerful family that ruined her past, only to feel an unexpected and magnetic pull toward their daughter, Lalin. It seamlessly mixes corporate intrigue, emotional scars, and sizzling early romantic sparks, hooking you right away.
Performances shine brightest. Faye Peraya delivers her usual commanding, intense energy with great depth. Atom Pariya impresses as a strong newcomer, natural, charismatic, and perfectly matching Faye. Their chemistry feels electric and addictive from the start.
Production is premium and cinematic, with stunning visuals, sharp cinematography, polished sets, and well timed music that elevates the drama.
Overall, Episode 1 is intriguing, emotionally charged, and visually impressive. A solid 10/10 start that leaves you craving more. Highly recommended for fans of intense GL with heart and heat! 💔✨

I'm rooting for the villain! Wasted potential
They started by deceiving us with the trailer! They made us believe that Arisa would be a race car driver, but unfortunately the problems didn't stop there:1) Their "love" isn't "believable" because they didn't show them starting to date. They jumped straight to the end. So all the declarations seem like empty words.
2) The scene cuts are often poorly executed; the editing isn't working well.
3) The script is so empty so far that we have no idea who Lyla is because they simply don't "introduce" her to us. We only know that she's the villain's daughter and that she's dating Arisa.
4) They're not managing to balance revenge with romance; it gives the impression that the series wasn't even supposed to be a romance, but at the last minute they decided to change their minds and filmed some scenes on top of it.
5) The pacing of the romance is also completely fantastical, it feels like bad fanfiction, where they want to take the characters to a certain point but don't know how to do it, so they just force a marriage proposal, a gigantic coincidence, a hidden camera, anything that isn't developing a good script.
6) The characters aren't charismatic, they don't have well-developed personalities, they simply threw the characters into the series and said: "Look, you're going to be silly and in love with her, and you're going to be gothic and complicated"... That's all they are. They didn't build the characters with mannerisms or "anything" special. They are just generic characters, the kind we find everywhere.
7) They still haven't explained what revenge Arisa wants to take, or why she wants to do it. The story is short, only 8 episodes, so this should have been shown in episode 1 or 2 so we could understand where the character is going. If they don't do that, we're left confused, and if we don't understand, we can't celebrate her achievements, because how can we celebrate something we don't even understand how it's supposed to be, and how Arisa wants it to be?
Honestly, I'm rooting for the villain to win, defeat Arisa, and for Lyla to find someone decent, because Arisa only lies and uses her.

Rushed, no emotional connection with story
The production is of high quality, but the storyline is rushed and difficult to connect with. The plot begins moving too quickly in the first episode, with the main couple being introduced almost immediately, there’s no time to build tension or a connection with the audience. GL productions thrive on tension and buildup, BOL lacks this entirely. Faye is typically a captivating actress, but this is not her best performance so far.Was this review helpful to you?
