Chinese historical drama Ashes to Crown has confirmed its premiere date for June 2.

The series is adapted from Xi Xing's novel "Chu Hou" and tells the story of Chu Zhao, the daughter of a general, who refuses to become a mere sacrificial pawn in a power struggle. She resets the course of her fate, takes control as an active player in the game of power, and joins forces with Xie Yan Lai to break the deadlock amid the hidden undercurrents of court politics.

Chu Zhao (Chen Du Ling), the daughter of a general, realizes that taking the initiative is the only way to change her tragic fate of becoming a sacrifice in Chu Crown Prince Xiao Xun's struggle for power.

In the ups and downs of her struggle against fate, she meets Xie Yanlai, the illegitimate son of the Xie family (Zhou Yi Ran). She brings light into Xie Yan Lai's bleak life, helping him break free from the shackles of destiny and rise step by step from a low-ranking soldier to a great general who protects the nation. Together, Chu Zhao and Xie Yanlai successfully thwart Xiao Xun's ambitions and plans.

On a way that should have taken her away from the turmoil, after witnessing the suffering of civilians amid the flames of war, Chu Zhao resolutely turns back into the city and supports the young imperial grandson Xiao Yu in ascending the throne, remaining by his side until Xiao Yu assumes full power.

However, Xiao Xun once again brings in foreign enemies to invade, willing to plunge the common people into suffering to fulfill his ambition for power. Chu Zhao and Xie Yanlai fight fiercely, leading the troops in bloody battles, and ultimately succeed in resolving both the internal strife and external threats to the Chu state.

By this point, Chu Zhao has not only changed her own destiny but also enabled the countless people of the Chu state to escape the suffering brought by conflict and war.
