'Perfect Crown' reaches new personal best, 'My Royal Nemesis' premieres to strong ratings
Go Hyun Jung and Jang Dong Yoon's upcoming SBS crime thriller Queen Mantis has been confirmed to premiere on September 5.
Queen Mantis tells the story of Jung Yi Shin (Go Hyun Jung), the Mantis, a serial killer locked up in prison. When someone starts imitating her crime style, she starts working with her son Cha Su Yeol (Jang Dong Yoon), who has hated her his whole life, to catch the culprit.
The production team unveiled stills from the script reading session. Present at the scene were director Byun Young Joo, writer Lee Young Jong, as well as the main cast, including Go Hyun Jung, Jang Dong Yoon, Jo Sung Ha, and Lee El.


Go Hyun Jung plays Jung Yi Shin, known as the Mantis, a serial killer and Cha Sy Yeol's mother.

Jang Dong Yoon takes on the role of Cha Su Yeol, a detective propelled into a joint investigation with his mother, the serial killer Mantis, whom he has hated all his life.

Jo Sung Ha plays Choi Jung Ho, the chief of the Violent Crime Investigation Unit at the South Jeolla Provincial Police Agency, and Lee El takes on the role of Kim Na Hui, the senior investigator in the same unit, working alongside Choi Jung Ho and Cha Su Yeol to solve the crime.


Queen Mantis is set to premiere on September 5. News about the K-drama's global OTT is yet to come.
