'Pursuit of Jade' actor Deng Kai says he 'really likes reading negative comments'
Ha Yoon Kyung shares the charm of Undercover Miss Hong.
Undercover Miss Hong follows Hong Geum Bo (Park Shin Hye), an elite supervisor for the Financial Supervisory Service, who goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm after detecting suspicious fund flows.
Ha Yoon Kyung comes to deliver a passionate performance in the role of Ko Bok Hui. Speaking about her first impression of Undercover Miss Hong, she said, "The story unfolds at a brisk pace, so there wasn't a moment to feel bored. All of the characters are bubbly and full of personality, which made it really fun to read."
She also introduced her character, saying, "Ko Bok Hui, whom I play, is a sharp, competent secretary at Hanmin Securities who wears a 'capitalist smile', while in the dormitory she's a prim, slightly annoying eldest-unni. On the outside, she may be snappy and sharp-tongued, but is also warm-hearted — a friend you just can't bring yourself to hate."
She went on to cite "unni" and "capitalist smile" as key descriptors for Bok Hui, explaining, "She's a multifaceted character, someone who shows a strong presence as a senior worthy of the 'unni' title, yet in professional life she uses a 'capitalist smile' more than anyone else."
Regarding the actors she worked with on the drama, Ha Yoon Kyung said, "I had a great time filming with all of the cast, but I shared especially strong chemistry with the dorm mates. We were really like close sisters. I think that was possible because everyone is so warm-hearted and lovable."
She also pointed to "the narratives and relationships of the unique characters" as highlights of the drama, adding, "Although it's an office drama, it's not heavy or difficult [to watch]. I think it's a show you can watch with a smile."
In closing, she shared a message for viewers: "The set was full of laughter and passion. I believe that chemistry and energy have been fully captured in the drama. I hope you'll take away good vibes and happiness through our show."
Undercover Miss Hong premieres on January 17. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix.
