IU and Byeon Woo Seok's Perfect Crown unveils first look.
On November 13, Walt Disney Company Korea announced that Perfect Crown is confirmed to be released on Disney+ in 2026.
Set against the backdrop of a 21st-century constitutional monarchy of the Republic of Korea, Perfect Crown follows Seong Hee Joo, a chaebol heiress who has everything except a royal status, and Prince Lee Wan, the king's son who, despite being a royal, is deprived of everything, as they set out on a journey to carve their destinies, defying their social statuses that confine them.
The series is directed by Park Joon Hwa, known for Alchemy of Souls, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Ugly Miss Young Ae, with the script written by Yoo A In, who won the Excellence Award in the Feature-Length Series category at the 2022 MBC Drama Script Contest for this work.
IU plays Seong Hee Joo. She's a confident woman who has everything but is annoyed by the fact that she's only a commoner by status. A capable businesswoman with stunning looks, a brilliant mind, and fierce competitiveness, she chooses to enter into a contract marriage to overcome the limitations imposed by her social standing.
The role of Prince Lee Ahn, a man who can possess nothing except his royal title, is played by Byeon Woo Seok. As the second prince of the royal family, a position that forbids him from shining or raising his voice, he lives hiding his passion.
Although Hee Joo and Lee Ahn share similar pain and obstacles, they have made different choices in life until now. They encounter a turning point in their life after meeting each other, which leads them to face their true selves and experience extraordinary emotions.
Perfect Crown will release on Disney+ in 2026.
