IU and Byeon Woo Seok's 'Perfect Crown' bolsters the Hallyu wave
tvN has unveiled fresh teasers featuring the Typhoon Family.
Typhoon Family follows Kang Tae Poong (Lee Jun Ho), a novice CEO of a trading company with almost no employees, no money, and nothing to sell, navigating the 1997 IMF crisis.
By Kang Tae Poong's side are those who will endure the crisis with him: the ace bookkeeper Oh Mi Sun (Kim Min Ha), Sales Manager Go Ma Jin (Lee Chang Hoon), Deputy Manager Cha Seon Taek (Kim Jae Hwa) of the General Affairs Department, Executive Director of Management Department Koo Myung Kwan (Kim Song Il), and Deputy Manager of the Logistics Department Bae Song Jung (Lee Sang Jin). All of them, with their own distinct personalities and skills, stand united under the name Typhoon Company. The relationships they build as they fill in one another’s shortcomings will reflect the message the drama aims to convey.
The group poster vividly captures the solidarity of Typhoon Company employees who persevered even under the crushing weight of the IMF crisis. Scattered papers, old office equipment, and a dim workspace evoke the gloom of those times, yet the people within the scene do not succumb to the weight of hardship. They work busily in their corners, exuding a vibrant energy that shines through.
Lee Jun Ho commented, "The people of Typhoon Company are, without a doubt, a truly dependable team. From the very first script reading, I was filled with their sincere and cheerful energy, and on set, their sensible humor and characteristics really came across strongly. Like family members aboard the same ship, we rely on one another and are filming joyfully."
Kim Min Ha also shared, "There was never a day on set with the Typhoon Company staff when we didn't laugh. The tones and scenes that I could never have imagined just from reading the script came bursting out during filming, and sometimes it was hard to hold back my laughter. I learned so much from my seniors and was inspired by them, which helped me build more layers to my character. Please look forward to the chemistry between the Typhoon Company employees. It's really fun and filled with deep emotions."
Typhoon Family is coming on October 11. The K-drama will be streaming on Netflix.
