Lee Soo Kyung's next K-drama after When Life Gives You Tangerines will possibly be a webtoon-based K-drama. 

On September 5, media outlets reported that Lee Soo Kyung will join hands with Lee Jae Wook in the upcoming K-drama The Last-Stand DoctorLee Jae Wook got the offer to lead the series and is currently reviewing it. 

Lee Soo Kyung's agency Varo Entertainment responded to the casting reports and stated, "Lee Soo Kyung did receive the offer to star in The Last Stand Doctor. The actress is positively considering the offer."

The Last-Stand Doctor will revolve around a plastic surgeon who is assigned to work as a public health doctor on Pyeongdong Island, a remote and chaotic location that everyone avoids. During his year on the island, he will encounter a diverse range of patients and residents. This K-drama is based on the Kakao Webtoon of the same name.

Director Lee Myung Woo, who is known for creating the hit K-dramas The Fiery Priest, One Ordinary Day, and Boyhood, will helm the upcoming K-drama. 

Lee Jae Wook will reportedly play the role of Do Ji Ui, a plastic surgeon, but was assigned to work in Pyeongdong Island. Lee Soo Kyung, on the other hand, got the offer to star as Eom Jung Seon in the series. She is a native of Pyeongdong Island and currently works as a traditional medicine nurse. 

The Last Stand Doctor will reportedly premiere in 2026. It will exclusively air on the ENA channel. 

Early this year, Lee Soo Kyung starred in the hit Netflix original K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines. She starred alongside IU, Park Bo Gum, Moon So Ri, Park Hae Joon, Kim Yong Rim, Na Moon Hee, and more. 

Lee Soo Kyung started her acting career in 2012. She is best known for starring in the K-dramas Love in the Big City, Adamas, Law School, Where Stars Land, Reply 1988, and more.
