Im Ji Yeon in talks to star in 'The Prince and the Pauper' reimagining
MBC unveils teaser for To the Moon.
To the Moon depicts a survival story of three women — Jung Da Hae (Lee Sun Bin), Kang Eun Sang (Ra Mi Ran), and Kim Ji Song (Jo A Ram) — from struggling families who dive into cryptocurrency investing due to being unable to survive on their salaries alone.
In the story, Jung Da Hae (Lee Sun Bin), Kang Eun Sang (Ra Mi Ran), and Kim Ji Song (Jo A Ram), being contract employees at Maron Confectionery, call themselves “The Ordinarys”. Neither exceptionally outstanding nor particularly lacking, they live “ordinary” lives, within which they deeply understand one another’s circumstances and forge a strong bond. To escape a harsh reality where salaries alone fall far short, they board the so-called “cryptocurrency train” together.
The teaser opens with a view inside the “cryptocurrency train.” Kang Eun Sang narrates, “This train is destined to the moon,” and Jung Da Hae declares, “Let me take off just once too,” as she joins the ride.
Just like a wildly fluctuating graph, the emotions of Kang Eun Sang, Jung Da Hae, and Kim Ji Song surge. The exhilarated shouts of “To the moon!” are juxtaposed with scenes of tears and despair.
Soon after, Jung Da Hae — who just exclaimed, “I broke my savings account” — shouts, “Let’s go to the moon!” not losing hope of making a fortune. In the closing scene, The Ordinarys cheer against the backdrop of the night sky, exclaiming, “What a beautiful night” — symbolising hope and excitement for that one big breakthrough.

To the Moon premieres September 19. News about the K-drama's OTT is yet to come. Watch the teaser here.
