Actress Lee Yoo Bi will reportedly return as Ruby in the upcoming third season of Yumi's Cells.
On May 20, industry insiders reported that Lee Yoo Bi is joining Kim Go Eun in reprising their roles in Yumi's Cells Season 3. According to reports, Lee Yoo Bi is coordinating with the production team on the schedule.
If Lee Yoo Bi confirms her casting, this will be her comeback to K-dramas after two years.
She was last seen in the 2024 K-drama The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection. She worked alongside Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Shin Eun Kyung, and Yoon Jong Hoon.
The actress is also reportedly set to star in the upcoming romance film Love Affair.
Lee Yoo Bi started her acting career in 2011. She is best known for being part of the K-dramas The Escape of the Seven: War for Survival, A Poem a Day, Somehow 18, The Scholar Who Walks the Night, Pinocchio, Gu Family Book, and more.
Yumi's Cells Season 3 will reveal Yumi's life now that she is a star writer. It will also showcase when a surprising romance enters her life. This unexpected relationship will trigger a new wave of emotions, reawakening the quiet cell village in her mind. The K-drama adapted its story from the popular webtoon of the same name by Lee Dong Geon.
Director Lee Sang Yeob and writers Song Jae Jung, Kim Yoon Joo, and Kim Kyung Ran will work together for the third time for Yumi's Cells.
The K-drama will be led by Kim Go Eun and the recent addition to the cast, Kim Jae Won.
Lee Yoo Bi is set to return as Ruby, who works alongside Yumi. At first, their relationship involved some rivalry, but Ruby later became a reliable friend to Yumi.
Yumi's Cells Season 3 will premiere in the first half of 2026. It will exclusively air on TVING.
