Kim Sae Ron's posthumous film 'Everyday, We' confirmed to premiere in 2026
MBC has officially addressed the controversy regarding the first teaser of the upcoming K-drama To the Moon.
On August 21, MBC apologized for the To the Moon K-drama teaser, which was criticized for mocking another culture. The broadcast network stated the video was meant to be a parody of an ice cream commercial from the 1980s-1990s, but admitted it was insensitive to other cultures. The controversial videos have been taken down, and MBC promised to be more careful in the future.
A new teaser video is expected to be released, and this time, it will be based on the content of the K-drama itself.
Earlier this week, MBC released the first teaser for its upcoming K-drama To the Moon, starring Lee Sun Bin, Ra Mi Ran, Jo A Ram, and Kim Young Dae. Instead of receiving compliments and building anticipation for the series, the teaser drew criticism, particularly from international viewers. They pointed out that the video appeared to mock a specific culture and expressed disappointment with the K-drama's disrespect toward a South Asian background.

To the Moon will showcase the struggles of everyday people in a world of abundant wealth. It will tackle pressing issues like workplace inequality, job instability, the burden of debt, and more. The K-drama will depict its story from the novel of the same name by Jang Ryu Jin.
Lee Sun Bin, Ra Mi Ran, Jo A Ram, Kim Young Dae, Kim Mi Kyung, Eum Moon Suk, and more will lead the upcoming K-drama.
The upcoming novel-based K-drama will be the joint work of directors Oh Da Young (Oh My Ladylord) and Jung Hoon (Spice up Our Love).
To the Moon will begin airing on September 19 at 9:50 PM KST.
