Fifties Professionals tells the story of three men who may seem ordinary but once wielded considerable influence and who are brought back into action by fate.
The three men, who made a name for themselves in their respective fields, find themselves on the remote island of Yeongseondo following an incident. The series follows their journey as they search for the truth behind "that fateful day" from 10 years ago.
In the drama, Oh Jung Se transforms into Bong Je Soon, a North Korean special agent who has lost his memories. Bong was once regarded as the North's human weapon, excelling in taekkyeon (traditional Korean martial art) and covert infiltration. While carrying out an order to retrieve stolen classified documents and funds, he falls into the sea and is eventually washed ashore on the beach of Yeongseondo — an island in the middle of nowhere.
The stills portraying Bong Je Soon highlight a striking contrast between his past and present selves. As the North Korean agent "Bulgae", he captivates with an aura of a cold, ruthless man, devoid of emotion.
In contrast, after losing his memory and settling on Yeongseondo, Bong Je Soon bears none of the charisma he once had as a North Korean agent. With a reserved smile and slumped shoulders, his new "mission" is fixing broken copiers, polishing his boss's car, and handling all sorts of office odd jobs.
