New Korean historical action thriller The Sword, A Legend of the Red Wolf has revealed its full cast.
The Sword, A Legend of the Red Wolf is an upcoming action historical blockbuster set in the aftermath of Goguryeo's fall that tells the story of a man who, after losing his memory, becomes a slave and enters a sword-fighting tournament for a legendary sword.
The K-movie is set in the year 668, shortly after the fall of Goguryeo, against the backdrop of Yodong Fortress, formerly Goguryeo territory.
Infused with cinematic imagination, the film is set to depict how the legendary sword of the northern legend is reinvented as a symbol of new hope.
Park Bo Gum takes on the role of Chil Seong, a warrior who has lost his memory. From action depicting desperate, raw efforts for survival as a slave gladiator to the epic tale of a man awakening as a nation's hero known as the "Red Wolf", Park Bo Gum promises to captivate with a transformation never seen before.
Joo Won plays Kye Pil Ha Ryeok. Kye Pil Ha Ryeok is a warrior who enters the gladiatorial tournament representing the tribe of Göktürks and a formidable rival of Chil Seong.

Jung Jae Young will play Heuk Su Gang, the leader of the Goguryeo Restoration Army (the Damul Army) — a mentor who raises Chil Seong into a true warrior and a leader who secretly works to restore Goguryeo.
Lee Sun Bin will transform into Maya, a member of the Goguryeo Restoration Army. BIBI joins the cast as In Jeong, Heuk Su Gang's daughter.

Director Kim Han Min said, "If War of the Arrows showed the speed and spirit of our nation's 'bow', then The Sword, A Legend of the Red Wolf aims to capture on screen the sharp yet weighty energy of a sword that cuts through the chaotic era following the fall of Goguryeo." He added, "Please look forward to a new Korean action hero film that will captivate global audiences beyond Asia through the boldest Korean elements of 'Goguryeo' and 'the sword.'"
The Sword, A Legend of the Red Wolf is slated to be released in summer 2027 and will be entering the production stage.
