New Chinese drama Be with Me, starring Shen Yue and Zhang Wan Yi, has officially begun filming.
The drama is produced by Tencent Video and Xinguang Pictures, directed by Wang Wei, and written by Zhou Yong.
Set against the backdrop of the lives of three generations of the Sun family, the series unfolds around the ups and downs of multiple couples' relationships. It takes an in-depth look at the conflicts, salvation, and growth within marriage, while delicately portraying the bonds, clashes, and mutual support among family members, conveying the heartfelt message that "despite all the ups and downs along the way, a family still has to work together to live life well."
The filming launch event for Be with Me was attended by the crew and cast.
Shen Yue plays Zhou Yu, and Zhang Wan Yi plays Sun Jing Cheng. Using the Sun family as its core and the marital conflicts of multiple couples as its main storyline, the drama unfolds layers of family life.
Sun Jing Cheng and Zhou Yu decide to divorce by mutual agreement because of their differences in personality, but are forced to put it on hold due to the mother's intervention and the older sister's secret. As they continue living together day after day, the two move from "wanting a divorce" to "learning how to live together", gradually discovering growth and salvation within marriage.
The eldest brother and his wife shoulder the family's burdens amid the routines of everyday life, with responsibility quietly embedded in the ordinary. The second brother and his wife, despite living in material comfort, find themselves caught in an emotional crisis, searching for balance between family obligations and their own sense of self. Meanwhile, the youngest sibling, amid secrets and struggles, comes to understand familial love anew.
The drama neither shies away from the conflicts and quarrels within marriage nor holds back on the warmth found in human relationships and captures the truest textures of contemporary life and the warmth of everyday human existence with delicate strokes.
The series has now officially entered the filming stage and will later be exclusively streamed on Tencent Video, also known as WeTV outside China. Stay tuned!
