Six Flying Dragons director Shin Kyung Soo shares thoughts on his upcoming K-drama Shin's Project.
Shin's Project follows Shin (Han Seok Kyu), a chicken restaurant owner who solves and mediates disputes in the neighbourhood.

Director Shin recalled his first impression of Shin's Project, stating, "We should live having conversations and really listening to others, but often we fail to do so. I liked how it pointed this out and gave insight into such things." He added, "I thought that through this drama, those who feel frustrated or wronged in their lives might get some relief and comfort.”
Given that the drama deals with conflict situations that frequently occur in everyday life, he explained his directing approach: "I directed it in a way that ensures the directing doesn't feel obvious, the story flows naturally, and the actors' chemistry progresses smoothly — without any element or aspect feeling excessive." However, "It was really difficult to make it all feel seamless.”
This K-drama also marks Han Seok Kyu's first collaboration with tvN. Director Shin Kyung Soo, who is working with Han for the third time following Tree With Deep Roots and Secret Door, praised their seamless collaboration, stating, "Han Seok Kyu and I shared many similarities in our interpretation and expression of the work, which made working joyful and fulfilling."
He also expressed strong confidence, noting, "The synchronization between Han Seok Kyu and the character of Mr. Shin is 200%." He added, "Stories and characters are reborn through the acting, directing, and dedication of the entire staff, so I always struggle to find the right words when discussing synchronization. But no matter what you imagine, Han SeokKkyu is Mr. Shin himself."
Furthermore, he also praised Bae Hyeon Seong and Lee Re: "Both actors are wonderful individuals who embody the optimism this work holds with their bright tendencies and positive attitude. Working with them was a joy."
Concluding, director Shin shared the K-drama's highlight: "I hope viewers look forward to uncovering why Mr. Shin, a former negotiation expert, ends up frying chicken."
Shin's Project is premiering September 15. News about the K-drama's global OT is yet to come.
