Son Suk Ku persistently pursues a case from ten years ago in 'Nine Puzzles'

Disney+ unveils character stills featuring Son Suk Ku as Kim Han Saem, a detective in the Han River's Violent Crimes Unit, in Nine Puzzles.

Nine Puzzles is a mystery thriller that follows Yun Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), a criminal profiler who was the sole witness of an unsolved case from ten years ago, and violent crimes Detective Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who was the lead investigator at the time and continues to suspect her as the culprit. Together, they delve into the secrets of a serial murder case that begins again with a mysterious puzzle piece.

Han Saem is a detective in the Han River's Violent Crimes Unit, relentlessly pursuing the murderer of a homicide case from ten years ago.

Assigned to his first case, the murder of Superintendent Yun Dong Hoon, Han Saem is convinced that Yi Na, the victim's niece and the first person to discover the body, is the prime suspect.

For ten years, he has been persistently looking for evidence. A perfectionist and a fan of detective novels, Han Saem is obsessively meticulous in his investigations. To solve the serial murder case, which has begun again after ten years, he teams up with Yi Na, who, as a profiler, works alongside him. Their dynamics oscillate between suspicion and cooperation.

Son Suk Ku shared, "I am a huge fan of director Yoon Jong Bin, so receiving the casting offer was truly an honor." "In the dynamics of suspicion and cooperation, there are subtle changes, and at times, doubt resurfaces.  We talked a lot about the nuances beyond what is written in the script or dialogue." 

Director Yoon Jong Bin said, "Han Saem is a very bold and sharp character. I thought a lot about which actor would be suitable to bring this character to life. I felt that Son Suk Ku's unique vibe would fit perfectly." 

Nine Puzzles will be available exclusively on Disney+, with six episodes releasing on May 21, followed by three on May 28, and the final two on June 4, for a total of eleven episodes.
