The Old Woman with the Knife gets invited to the Berlin International Film Festival.

Adapted from the novel "Pagwa" by Gu Byeong Mo, the K-movie tells the story of "Hornclaw, a legendary assassin in her sixties who specializes in eliminating the scum of the earth. Her mundane but bloody life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Bullfight, a promising young killer who wants to work by her side. But an incident from their past casts a dark shadow on their collaboration, even when Bullfight reveals that he remembers her as the first person to ever show him kindness. Hornclaw fails to recognize the young man and his true intentions, and their unresolved misunderstanding leads to an escalation of confrontations and a final face-off with weapons brandished for vengeance and survival" (Berlinale).

Director Min Kyu Dong and actress Lee Hye Young, who plays the lead role, are set to attend the opening ceremony. On February 16, director Min Kyu Dong, Lee Hye Young, and Kim Sung Cheol will greet film fans from around the globe before unveiling The Old Woman with the Knife at its world premiere screening.

The K-movie is garnering buzz as it features a unique protagonist — a female assassin in her 60s — and includes intricate arcs and mesmerizing action sequences, sparking curiosity about how the film will be received.
