Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young is making her debut in Hollywood!
TXT's Choi Soo Bin and Choi Yeon Jun will appear in the tvN K-drama Resident Playbook.
On April 21, media outlets reported that TXT members will be the K-pop idol groupmates of actor Kang Yoo Seok in Resident Playbook.
Resident Playbook is a spin-off of Hospital Playlist that depicts the real-life stories, friendships, and struggles of obstetrics and gynecology residents at Jongno Yulje Hospital.
Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Kang Yoo Seok, Jung Joon Won, Han Ye Ji, and Lee Bong Ryun are the main leads of the series.
In Resident Playbook, Kang You Seok plays Um Jae Il, an obstetrics and gynecology resident at Jongno Yulje Hospital. His character has a past as a member of a K-pop idol group that only had one hit song. TXT's Choi Soo Bin and Choi Yeon Jun will guest star in an upcoming episode as Um Jae Il's former idol groupmates.
Since its premiere, the K-drama has become known for its numerous cameo appearances, with each episode featuring special guests. Ra Mi Ran captivated audiences in the first episode with her multiple roles. Following her, Ahn Eun Jin from Hospital Playlist made a guest appearance in the second episode. The third episode welcomed the Hospital Playlist couple, Ha Yoon Kyung and Moon Tae Yu. Most recently, in the fourth episode, Hospital Playlist lead Jung Kyung Ho finally appeared. The series is speculated to have more cameos from Hospital Playlist characters, and TXT members Choi Soobin and Choi Yeonjun mark the first K-pop idols to make a surprise appearance.
In addition to their cameo appearances, TXT is also contributing to the Resident Playbook OST. The entire group will lend their voices to one of the K-drama's soundtracks.
This K-drama will be a career milestone for Choi Soobin, as this marks his first time appearing in a series.
Meanwhile, this will be the second time that Choi Yeonjun will make a cameo in a K-drama. In 2020, he also appeared in the K-drama Live On.
