Reports have surfaced that Yoo Ah In is preparing to make his comeback through a new film by Exhuma director Jang Jae Hyun. In response, both his agency and the director stated that "nothing has been decided yet."

On December 17, Yoo Ah In's agency, UAA, commented on reports claiming that the actor would return to the big screen through a new project by director Jang Jae-hyun — famous for his work in Exhuma (2024) — saying, "Nothing has been decided yet."

Director Jang Jae Hyun explained that while he has not formally made a casting offer to Yoo Ah In, it is true that he did ask how Yoo Ah In has been doing recently.

Following the box-office success of Exhuma, starring Kim Go Eun, Lee Do Hyun, and Choi Min Sik, in 2024, director Jang Jae Hyun stated in an interview that he "does not plan to make a sequel to Exhuma," adding, "I'm interested in a new story. I'm in the early stages of developing a story about vampires. Writing the screenplay will take two years, and it will take four years until the work is released."

Speculation about Yoo Ah In's comeback arose in connection with this project, which is reportedly still without a completed screenplay.
