Li Xian and Li Yi Tong's 'A Prophet' announces premiere date
New Republican-era Chinese drama Archives: The Nanyang Mystery is premiering on June 11.
Adapted from the novel of the same Chinese name by Nanpai Sanshu, the drama is set against the backdrop of the Nanyang region during the early years of the Republic of China and tells the story of Southern Archives investigators Zhang Hai Yan and Zhang Hai Xia. While investigating a mysterious murder case, they thwart warlord Mo Yun Gao's plot to spread a plague using the highly poisonous plant "Dusk Grass."
During the investigation, Zhang Hai Yan and Zhang Hai Xia face numerous life-and-death crises, with Zhang Hai Xia even becoming paralyzed as a result. As the clues gradually come together, Zhang Hai Yan discovers that all signs point to a large ship — the Nan'an.
Zhang Xin Cheng stars as Zhang Hai Yan, Ding Yu Xi as Zhang Hai Xia, and Jiang Pei Yao as Zhang Hai Qi.
