Leftover Women

I'm writing my dissertation on the depiction of leftover women in  Chinese TV shows, dramas and films, does anyone have any recommendations?  These characters don't have to be labelled as leftover women, just unmarried women over the age of 27. I know there are dramas and films on here that fit the description I just can't think of how to search for them.

Thank you so much for your help,! I don't watch dramas or films with this topic either but I wanted to research the way these women are depicted in the media, almost villainized for being unmarried. Or see how these depictions have changed over time.

Ohhh, It would be an interesting topic to read. Though i thought China has a greater problem with left over MEN, especially the consequence of their one-child policy and their bias with sons vs daughters.

I dont know if this may help you in anyways but the theory presented in movies and films is not holding up anymore. You are not considered "leftover" just because you are not married when you are 30,  that is a bit dramatized in these movies/dramas.

Yes, this is what I want to write about how the term is being used and its evolution in addition to the inequality of the term when compared to men in the same situation. How "leftover women" have seemingly embraced the term and so it no longer carries the same meaning, but the pressure to marry or have children still remains.
