I have no idea, man- I am baffled that people do this. Maybe it's cuz of my adhd but I always put in extra effort to lock in and pay attention to details and diaologue so I don't space out and miss stuff (which is why I usually take longer to watch stuff), and people out here forcing filmmakers to make shit dumber and simpler to appeal to their TikTok brainrot? 😭 Bruuuhhh- I heard that's also why there's so much subtle exposition-dump and characters just flat out saying what they're doing lately. Because people are not watching. Like, audiobooks exist? Hell, audioseries exist too!

This is very true! It does tick off all the noona boxes and does it very well. Which is quite rare for noona dramas (that always make the MLs a 30-year-old in a 20-something's body and the supposed older woman just acts like a teen girl (and that's when the age gap is over 3 years... 💀 Besties, we're missing the point if 3 years is an age gap)).

This poor man... 😭 This is why I find such big height differences awkward, like- bro needs to be on his knees to kiss at eye-lvl (not something I would be against tbvh but I think that kinda defeats the purpose of those tall man/short woman ships, no? XD). I was admittedly hoping for more RR kisses... but I didn't dislike these either. I noticed Daniel kisses kinda needily, which is close enough for me to give it a pass.
And to think this actress is taller than others. She's 1.7m.

From what I've seen, Wang Yu Wen is the tallest at 1.72m... which is still pretty short compared to bro's 1.88m 💀 But with some heels, she'd come closer, and I think that'd be pretty based! I think it would also be nice for bro to be able to look his co-star in the eye rather than the top of her head xD
It looks like the actors and production team put a lot of work into it. When a drama is earnest, it's much easier to forgive a less than perfect plot and/or script.
Yeah, does seem that way! Maybe that's also the benefit of watching these wrapped trailers, haha. Getting to see what it was like behind the scenes and how much work went into it ( tho for me, the biggest issues I have with dramas are usually not production-related but writing-related, which should be the easiest to solve)

I'm like SOOOOOOOOOOO fucking stoked about a female general that actually looks like she could be a general (despite obviously being thin asf). Like her scenes intrigued me smmm, and that's saying something because Daniel Zhou was there with his pouty lips!!
Can't get over the scene in that gorgeous autumnal forest with him blindfolded and chained, dressed in pure white on his knees and her in bloody armor, grabbing his chin- Like I'll be thinking about that a lot. Like, where is he running from? Where to?! Was he captured? Did he escape from some evil woman's bed?? Did she save him? I NEED TO KNOW!!!
Also, the shot of them together in the battlefield... again, him in pure white and her bloody and sweaty... 🥵 All we needed was a needy (and rough) kiss, and I would've lost it (pls be there in the drama, plsplpls)
The performances I've seen from both leads, just based on this trailer alone, look very promising! Daniel is crying a lot so maybe I'll get some whump 👉👈 or at least hurt/comfort. And tbh, the supporting actors also seem good (but the characters don't intrigue me so whatever yknow.)
The scene in the rain? Her yelling at him, and he hugs her instead? Mmmmm, and the fire? Oh, I think this is gonna deliver me some yummy angst 😋 And probably a soft ML/rough FL ship?
I also only saw ML in one action scene, so we might be getting a mostly female-led action series... And I'm feeling very normal and restrained about this. :)
Also, Daniel Zhou looks as good in costume as I was expecting. I wish he would keep the loose hairstyle more because he looks so beautiful like that, but I guess tied is fine too...

No novel translation yet, but I might check it out if it ever does come out cuz the drama only wrapped filming now, so it'll prolly be two years before it airs :))) Oh well. Still very excited!

its literally my favorite drama ever. I have not been loving drama since maybe 2019 ... This was so beautiful, i rememebered my love for Asian dramas.
