It's being made by Netflix? Ooh, girl, I'm sorry D: Yeah, they're gonna destroy it. And if it's actually good, it'll get cancelled after one season. Netflix is generally crap, but the general public really needs to share some of the blame. They're the reason why Emily In Paris keeps getting renewed.

Idk, it's weird- she doesn't feel like one of us like other actresses or actors do, but I could be misreading them. Ig it doesn't help that she looks more uncanny now (overly thin imo) and it's a bit unsettling (compared to say, how she looked in TKoW).

I think her continuing to go after RR/RR-leaning projects says something, but I don't know if the fact that she ends up in bad ones is her fault? Maybe the script for the first episode or two seems promising, so she signs on, gets the new scripts as they're written, and they're garbage. There are so few good RRs, so maybe she just settles for as close as she can get. Not sure either, but I kind of wanna give her the benefit of the doubt. I do agree she's missing the aura some of our fav RR actresses have, which is a shame since she gravitates to RR dynamics.

Oof—the thinness is unsettling for sure even though I haven't seen her older works. The "uncanny thin" look is also back in the U.S. after so many years of the body positivity movement. Smh. I know it's hard, but it's just proof of why people should try their best to be happy with their body if they are healthy. These body trends come and go.

I feel like dramas that don't center the bodyguard thing execute it the best, examples: Parallel World, Love in Between, The Ingenious One, etc.

I had no idea man was popular enough for this to be a hot take!! 👀👀 I watched KSH in a movie and really enjoyed it and his performance and I've never seen Suzy in anything-

Yeah, people love him and his dimples, which are admittedly cute, but his performances are always lackluster to me (Start Up, which I finished. And Hometown Cha Cha Cha, which I didn't). Not bad, but not evoking anything at all. He also picks very safe roles.

I have a soft spot for Suzy since she was in a girl group I really liked as a teen (Miss A). I love that she picks risky projects, but like I said, they're very hit or miss. When You Were Sleeping was a banger though, and Start Up was watchable (the drama I first saw CY's faceclaim in).

Okay, so...in the webtoon, the romance isn't between the FL vampire and ML painter. He's just there to paint her while she laments her long life in a very Interview with A Vampire fashion. Her actual love interest is a...wait for it...vampire hunter from her past. That pretty much killed all my hopes since even though she's this immortal monster with superhuman strength and a bunch of other things, she's still in the position of being the hunted. She's still the prey. There are ways to keep things RR with this dynamic, but I highly doubt the drama will do those things. Now, it could change things and make the painter the love interest, but I'm wondering if production is brave enough to make such an integral change.

Isn't the FL absolutely insane in the best way? 😂 I couldn't believe they had the guts to write her, but I applaud whoever was responsible and want more!

I also enjoyed Shadow Sovereign, some minor complaints but I had a good time overall! I liked the leads and their scheming a lot 😁 What did you think of it??

I feel the same way as you: there were a couple things I didn't like, especially toward the end, but I liked it overall! And it gave us some juicy RR moments (The FL backing ML into a wall to kiss him in one of the earlier episodes, her rescuing him on horseback, her giving him a piggyback ride when he was unconscious, and her choking him out and him being so okay with it).

The problem is that FLs are weak or gullible at some point of time, even if they look like badasses in the first scenes.

Yeah...unfortunately that's what I keep running into with Thai dramas, and it's jarring.

I wasn't thinking much about it, but I found this version of the trope among others. I watched it. Loved It, and I read that this is the only version with a Puppy ML. So, possibly the only RR version among the 6 or 7 pre-existing versions.

I've tried to watch a couple versions of this plot, and so far the only version with real RR was The Wedding Mix-Up. The second couple was the domineering FL x submissive ML, and they were PERFECT. Still one of my favorite couples to this day. In this version, even the traditional couple had moments where the woman took charge, so I was pleasantly surprised!

Why must they always do this???? They did the same thing with PoJ (which I didn't finish, mind you). Can't we just get our RR without the addition of a toxic man?? At least he seems to be sandwiched between two RR relationships. Did you see the third couple? They look RR too.

I like SUZY 💖too. I liked her every were, even in "While you were sleeping". When she played the childish green tea teenager is "Big". Her acting had to grow but she was beleivable in every role I saw her so far. Fact is, she is so famous and also so beautiful. Yet she tries to suprise the audien every time. I haven't watched yet "Genie, Make a Wish". Because I read that her character is a Psychopath and the romance is weird like a dark romance. But I might give it a try someday.

I just watched this vertical remake of the long length RR drama "Pursuit of jade." I don't know the title of this one. Although I looked for the title, I couldn't find it... well it was boring. The character's costumes are copy pasted from PoJ. But The heroine doesn't have a little sister but a blind grand-mother to protect , unlike in PoJ. I am also sure that the plot is simplified because it is a vertical drama. I watched it to know the Main plot of PoJ, but it was very boring and there's no RR in this at all.

Although, Slave ML is bough to continue the lineage by Porc Butcher FL, FL doesn't treat him as such, thus doesn't act as his master at all, there are minimal to non existant push and pulls and the plot is draggy as f***, in my opinion. So RR=0

This is weird because for a RR drama to be that boring. FL is the head of the family, so according to the setting she is in control, she is also a badass with a knife. But i don't know how they managed to make FL so bland and uninteresting. SMH.

ML being a green flag ain't gonna cut it, for me to see real RR in this. A pity 😞😞😞😞

PS : If ever somebody stumbles upon the title of this one, thanks in advance for telling me.

Update : I gave it 7/10 because I wanted a better RR experience watching this because it is a RR drama.

However, if I disregard the RR aspect and take this as a countryside side romance it would be 8/10 : well done, acting is ok and the simplified plot is well delivered.

But this is supposed to be RR ,💢
