Matsujun, I've been watching his series ever since discovering him in Gokusen last month. Seen a few already and I'm thoroughly impressed and invested in watching more. It's too bad his two most recent dramas aren't subbed fully or at all yet. I'd love to see them :(

As I dive into the second season, I can't help but feel a wave of disappointment. His character's absence is strongly felt, and my findings indicate he won't be back for the third season or the movie either. This is really upsetting, especially since in the manga, Yankumi and Sawada end up together. I have my theories about why they chose to drop that storyline. Still, I have to confess that the first season was a guilty pleasure.

It was so nice, I agree. They do end up together in the manga (which was the only reason I wanted to read the manga. Now that the momentum is gone, I kinda gave up on the manga entirely). He should have stayed but guess this? There's a rumor (I read it somewhere, idk if true), that Matsujun and Nakama Yukie used to date or smth, during the filming and they separated too? Idk really (it might also be unrequited love tbh), but if true, the series could not continue with both of them. It would make sense as to why Sawada Shin is not present in the sequels. I am now struggling to finish all seasons and movie (successfully managed to watch season 2 and special 2 this month) but it's true, they would have been great on screen.

About drama slump. With Role Reversal I barely experienced any drama slump. But like you, My drama slump can last months :(

I am in one regarding Chinese dramas with the new airing shows now, so am greatful for my RR recommendation and the ancient dramas also save the day.

Me too! I'm on ep 6 atm. Taking it easy because I don't wanna binge all available eps and then be forced to watch only 1 ep a day until the end, lol xD What are your thoughts so far?
To me it's very interesting and well-crafted so far. So pretty and high quality for a short drama!! It does have have some RR moments here and there but not a whole lot tbh. Less than I was hoping for in any case but maybe we'll get more later on. ML is kinda giving subtle fem vibes to me which will always have me on a chokehold and FL being a somewhat more realistic cross-dresser also helps. Pretty evil femboy my beloved
Some spoilers on my expectations ig: When I heard that ML was a eunuch I was intrigued, like when have we gotten a ML in a servitude position that wasn't guard? God, basically never but then they don't really play into it a whole lot... he's just a bit more attentive of FL and other than that he's your typical badass ML in armour which I thought was such a shame T_T

I think this is a very well made drama… really gives even long Cdrama a run for their money. The acting is top tier … amazing chemistry between the leads ! Their dynamics is very interesting too… but my favorite chapter is the Villian 🤣 he is dark and terrifying solid acting from him. The opening scene of him fighting is crazy … currently in episode 16 … the female lead though what a mesmerizing take on RR couple …. I think it’s quite a refreshing watch …
