Role Reversal (RR) Drama Lovers Club

I had some free time because insomnia has been kicking my butt but my energy levels are low so I brain rotted on canva for a while and edited ALL ~~(scratch that I somehow managed to miss only 1... I'll update it in my next batch, lol)~~ the previous badges to the new format so that the text is clearer. Took a while but I'm quite content with the results and my developing style (if I can even call it that, lololol)

~~The text for the small ones are still somewhat hard to read, I think it's just too small so I'll probably work on that next.~~

Also added some new badges (and mostly new colours)

Noticed I had precious little Japanese and Thai badges so I'm currently working on some to add from those countries and maybe also Taiwan if I can find anything. If you have any recommendations or requests, do let me know! ^^

Same here. I'm not posting anywhere about dramas I watch 'cause I watch none right now. But I do post on feeds about stuff sometimes. Recently I discovered that maybe one drama in particular might help me out of drama slump. That's because I have watched edits of it over the last couple days.

Even so, this might be a temporary solution until the next drama slump. I wish I was out of this state forever. There was a certain excitement I got from dramas in the first year of watching them, but that wore off as years went by. And I started watching dramas in 2022, so not very long ago.

That's completely understandable. Sorry to hear you've been in a slump too... It's been pretty off for me lately as well. Nothing really makes me feel anything, lol. Hope you're able to get out of your slump soon, it's the worst T-T

Hah... literally the same as me. I started about mid 2022 and have been chasing the high I got from those first handful of dramas ever since... With every passing year I seem to become more apathetic. Maybe I've been a bit too obsessed with asian dramas and I need a change of pace (I've admittedly watched little else but western stuff has just been so sloppy lately, lol)

I'm really looking forward to December, but I feel a little nervous because there haven't completed many RR titles this year. I need to catch up so I can have answers for our games.

This should probably be obvious, but I'm a little confused about how MDL works. I typically concentrate on three main activities: sharing on my page, interacting in the group, and sometimes joining the forums. Even with that, I often feel a bit lost since it can be pretty overwhelming. And then there are the comments on the drama page. You can say something minor, and suddenly, a flood of misunderstandings comes your way. I've tried to avoid posting there lately, which is unfortunate because I really want to support the dramas I'm enjoying. But when I see the comment section getting heated, I tend to keep my distance, haha.

Oh my gosh, yes! This is so accurate! I’m just way too tough of a raider. I see people handing out nines and tens like they’re going out of style, and I’m over here thinking, 'Statistically, that’s just not feasible!' How can every single one of these rated dramas be a flawless masterpiece? No way! Just because something made you chuckle doesn’t mean it’s a perfect 10! The characters need to be well-crafted, the writing has to be stellar, the graphics and music must be harmonious, and character development and setting should be spot on! There’s no way they all got it right!

Someone checked out my watchlist and said I’m too harsh when it comes to scoring, especially since I rated some of their all-time favorite dramas below a six! You wouldn’t want me on IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes because I’d be the one dragging the scores down like a rock in a pond! LMAO!

Absolutely! In my opinion, these dramas are the best of the best when it comes to entertainment. While I might rate them a bit lower due to a plot that's as exciting as watching paint dry, the comedy is simply fantastic! It's so wonderfully random that it has you laughing out loud. They have this incredible knack for introducing music at the most surprising times, and it always enhances the humor. I can't help but love them for that! These dramas are my ultimate guilty pleasure, the ones I keep coming back to time and again!

Here is the Surplus Princess - Attack on Titan scene I mentioned earlier. I wouldn't call it a spoiler because nothing major happens. The characters are simply in an office, there are no subtitles, and it's just about 27 seconds long. Still, this scene never fails to crack me up; it's so unexpected, yet they pulled it off flawlessly!

Oh, the saga of my beloved old laptop! It valiantly served me through the treacherous waters of the pandemic and valiantly attended countless work conferences before the world turned upside down. It deserved a grand exit, though perhaps not quite the dramatic flair it displayed.

Enter my new laptop, a stunning sky blue ! It's the first splash of color I've ever had in my tech arsenal, so I really can't complain. But alas, there's a cloud looming over my sunny new gadget: the grim reality of a year and a half of payments looming like a dark shadow.

You see, I'm one of those folks who can't stand lingering debts; I prefer to pay things off fast! So, knowing this shiny beauty will be a constant reminder of my financial commitment for the next 365 days is a bit of a bummer.

I find myself chuckling at the absurdity —it's not the end of the world, yet here I am, counting down the days until I can bask in the glory of my laptop without the weight of debt hanging over my head. Am I being overly dramatic? Perhaps! But , don’t mind me, I’m just here for the laughs! LMAO!

Ahahahaha, yuuuuuppp- I mostly only comment on drama pages that aren't airing, didn't air too recently, and/or aren't very popular. It's a wild west out there. (I've thankfully been able to completely avoid comment-section rage and only have positive experiences but I've heard the horrors)

The best place to hang out seems to be the feeds. People there are chill and supportive and it's honestly a pretty good time ^^ You can support dramas by posting about them over there to hype 'em up

I know riiiight? I think a lot of folks rate based on enjoyment and overall quality simply comes second. Good enough will get it a 9 or even 10 as long as it was enjoyable. I respect it, but it's not very useful if you're actually seeking out a more objective review xD

I haven't rated a single drama a 10 and a lot of my 9s and 9.5s are still very generous. Especially if they're very popular dramas, those things never score high for me and it's usually because I just feel disappointed, like my expectations were through the roof. Never underestimate the power of an overhyped drama.

I'm patiently waiting for it to finish airing so I can binge... Trailers: none found :(		2099 This one seems more subtle but FL is a cold robot and ML is very much giving clumsy and quirky FL energy so seems pretty RR to me (haven't watched yet tho) Trailers: Youtube

	The Wanted Detective Bit on the fence about this 'cause it's not romance and it didn't air yet but the trailer to me looks like it's gonna deliver RR similar to The Ingenious One so needless to say I'm sat (kinda mean and strong FL x weak(er) and nice ML) Also for my fellow whump enjoyers, this looks like it's gonna eat Trailers: Youtube		Zhu Yu ML looks like a sad and distressed malewife and FL is giving tough countryside girlboss- To me the trailer looks very promising in the RR department and I'm eagerly awaiting... Looks like Zhang Linghe is on a malewife streak. I should really appreciate him more for his efforts in delivering babygirl MLs (I'm really warming up to him in The Princess Royal tbh).

Also, is it just me or are we getting more RR in recent historical cdramas?

I also made a custom list for when I eventually do a cleanup of the recently aired/airing index. Mostly so I don't forget, haha
