Yes, the feedbacks are not that good. But I learned in he past to take critics on MDL with a grain of salt. So I will have a look at the first episode to make my own opinion.

I totally hear you. There are tons of dramas I loved that didn't have a good rating and some that people swear by that I could not tolerate at all. I will probably give Queen Mantis a try too, when I am in a better frame of mind to watch noir/ thrillers stuff.

I've been obsessing over The Journey of Legend, and struggling through When Destiny Brings the Demon. lol As for an RR titles I'm working on finishing Moonlight Mystique.

"When Destiny Brings the Demon" got me so emotional. I loved this drama except for the last episode. Frankly the lasts scenes are not directed correctly. A pity because the rest is ok. Although some parts are draggy. I was still very interested to watch it.
"Moonlight Mystique" is on my list and I hope to start is soon. Because I am now rewatching " Till the end of the moon " starring BaiLu too. I will have to finish it first.
If I start"The Journey of Legend" I would also fall into the xianxia pit LOLOL

The FL is morally grey character and the ML is cute and sweet guy who works a host in a bar to pay her debts. The last episode airs tomorrow. I hope ML will have a happy ending.

"When Destiny Brings the Demon"
I have a slight issue with this drama; although I initially enjoyed it at the beginning, I now feel it has become rather tedious. Instead of watching it for pleasure, I find myself tuning in merely to finish it, without truly enjoying the experience. I made the error of stepping away from it and returning only after finishing other dramas on my watchlist, and now I'm struggling to recall certain details of the plot. I don't believe there's a problem with the casting; however, I feel that the writing lacks sufficient plot for me. I want to emphasize that these were my thoughts prior to my initial departure If that makes sense. I can't quite put my finger on it—something feels off. Perhaps it's just me. But if you genuinely enjoy the story, then I'm happy it resonates with you.
"Moonlight Mystique" -
I truly love this drama, even though I'm not a huge fan of the female lead. This isn't meant to be a critique of the actress; I simply have a tendency to dislike headstrong female characters . What I value most about this drama are the supporting characters; we get to know each of them, building a connection, and then we explore their backgrounds and current lives, which makes me feel deeply attached to them. Each time these side stories emerge, they enrich the overall plot, and that is what I enjoy about them. Sometimes in dramas, I sense that when we dive into side stories, the main plot gets overshadowed and transforms into something completely different. Nevertheless, 'Moonlight Mystique" succeeds in keeping the narrative focused, which is a relief. This drama has moved me to tears several times, which is quite an achievement, so if it can stir that level of emotion in me, then the writers are definitely doing something right. My two favorite characters, without a doubt, are Fu Ling and Mu Jiu. I will not elaborate further because I do not want to spoil the story for you. I wholeheartedly recommend this drama.

Is it Ok for me to begin working on some episodes of "Bound by Sin" this weekend? This title and An "Ancient Love Song" have been On Hold for what seems like an eternity, partly because of my absence. I really don't want the Buddy Watch to be forgotten. It makes me feel sad.

Sounds delightful! I heard that FL is quite the douche but it's short and the trailer was really giving RR so I'll probably watch it once it finishes airing. Thanks for confirming. How are you liking it?

Ahahaha, yes. I actually restarted An Ancient Love Song today because I was going to finish it in my own time since I'm in a finishing mood and I keep thinking about it but I wasn't engaged in the story anymore from where I picked off.
I think it's fine for everyone to finish these two when they have time and share with the club what they thought (either episodically or all-together) if they want and we can pick a different drama (or maybe better a movie) to buddy-watch sometime in the future when everyone is more available.

Then I will restart ALS instead of BBS with you because the only way I can recall the episodes I've seen is if I manage to locate my comments from who knows when. It's simply easier for me to start over. I totally understand your feelings about not being invested in the story after coming back to the series, as I feel the same way about "When Destiny Brings the Demon."

Yeah, I had the same thing. I kept a list of my notes but they weren't enough. Especially if I enjoy the drama, I'd rather rewatch (even if I skip some part) than continue where I left off (unless I'm maybe 20 hours in ahah)
