autumn iris:

I see that you set Xiao Zhan's photo as your profile picture. His drama Legend of Zang Hai has already started airing yesterday. I'm now at episode 3 (from a total of 4 episodes being aired). As expected of Xiao Zhan, he always choose a good script and a good production team. And the right actress this time. I hope this drama will get a high douban rating.

Watched the first two episodes and I like Zang Hai's bright entrance in ep 2 and the scenes with his Masters.

The child actors were so good in their roles.

So true, their parts were minimal though.

This gonna be a long journey for Zang Hai before he'll be able to avenge his family but I'm pretty excited for it.

This drama really centered around Zang Hai. The title can't be more suitable. Like he dominated 90% of screentime. Love it.

Scarlet Heart is on script reading, finally. Saw the picture they took together. I'm so happy~

Actually it was part of 2024 GMMTV upcoming project, but it took so long to filming because the actors were all busy. I asked in mdl drama page about days of filming and someone said the target is to finish filming before April 2026. Ouch.

Hi everyone! I've been watching Asian dramas for years, and historical/costume/period dramas are among my favorites (mostly from China, HK and Taiwan). As I explore the forums more, I found this drama club forum thread, and I would like to join! As they say, it's better late than never 😊.

I'm currently watching "Luoyang". I had wanted to watch this drama since one or 2 years ago, but I hesitated after accidentally reading about what happened to one character (but it's not a major plot spoiler).  Now with a few episodes left before the end, I'm glad that I decided to go for it!

Here are the new dramas that are in my PTW list:
Legend of Zang Hai
Prisoner of Beauty
Youthful Glory
Journey of Legend

Hi everyone! I've been watching Asian dramas for years, and historical/costume/period dramas are among my favorites (mostly from China, HK and Taiwan).

Welcome!

I love C-dramas, both historical and modern. I'm currently watching Royal Rumours and recently finished Flourished Peony. I think it's one of my top favs now. I also watch K-dramas too. Not into J-dramas or Thai dramas very much, unless they are BLs.

Prisoner of Beauty is the first Chinese historical in a few years that I've really, really enjoyed for striking a good balance between comedy, romance and political maneuvering.

Hoping it finishes strong in the second half.

That's high on my PTW.

Legend of Zang Hai
Prisoner of Beauty

I'm currently watching both of these and loving them. The Legend of Zang Hai is darker than I expected, but it's compelling and the production is amazing. The Prisoner of Beauty is just fun and I'm loving their couple interactions. It's a slow burn and it makes sense for this enemies to lovers story.

Let me know what you think of Youthful Glory and The Journey of Legend. I'm not sure whether to watch them.

This all sounds really good! I love a nice mix of comedy and romance with some intrigue too! Adding to my PTW list and hopefully can start soon. I'm usually late to finish the most current dramas!

It sound like my cup of tea for sure! I'll put it on my PTW. I'm just wrapping up White Cat Legend and halfway through The Legendary Life of Queen Lau, PoB is next!

Legend of Zang Hai

I'm currently watching Legend of Zang Hai. Loved it. The plot is well-structured and there's enough excitement. All actors are chosen carefully and there's no unneccessary scene. Highly recommended.

I mostly watch Chinese dramas but I'm currently trying to catch up with Japanese dramas.

I recently completed Tenno no Ryoriban, about the life story of an emperor's cook during Meiji and Showa iirc. Based on a real person. Very touching and inspirational.

and Satomi Hakkenden, about the 8 samurai that's receiving Satomi late first princess' blessing to help lifted Satomi family curse. A fictional history. 4 hours watch special. Pretty good.

And I'm waiting for Chinese airing drama 2099 to finish before starting it. Looks hillarious.

finished Dear Hong Rang....a great drama...the love story in the Shakespeare's style...

Thank you 😊!  "Fluorished Peony" is also in my PTW list, which keeps piling up! I don't know when I'll be able to clear my PTW list 😄. I watch modern C-dramas too.

I just finished "Luoyang" last night, and I definitely recommend it! This drama has mystery and suspense, political intrigue, romance that is not over the top, and great fight scenes and OST. I was solving the pieces of the puzzle with them (so it helps not to read detailed write-ups as there might be spoilers). Huang Xuan, Victoria Song, Wang Yi Bo and Song Yi did quite well in their roles. So it's a great watch for me 👍.

On "The Journey of Legend", there is no release date yet.  Some say it's this month.  I'm Ok if they release it next month, because there are many dramas airing right now.

On "Youthful Glory":  Sure, I will let you know what I think when I watch it.
