Quantcast

Pray Speak What Has Happened is unique, with Japanese style comedy. Telling a story about a selfish, narcissistic and wicked director obsessed with Shakespeare's original script; about how he managed to find something just to lose it again, about how a man's nature doesn't change, how in the face of money people can change, how a good leader has to be selfless, how a person has to chase her dream starting from right now, how people who treat you well can dump you when you don't change for better and how people will only remember your goodness when you're no longer there.. Well, there's a lot of message there. I rated it 8.5/10.

It's available on Netflix, that's why I subscribed to Netflix; to watch episode 11 only.

And the OST is amazing.

 autumn iris:

You could try searching it on telegram. I watched it on telegram. But I dropped it on episode 7. Seems like I'm not fated with Thai historical drama that's having traditional clothes. Already dropping 4 dramas (including Captive Heart, Plai Chawak, and Good Heavens! I'm a Goose not a Swan) by now. But I want to try Wanthong and Rak Nakara one day. 😅

Oh yeah, Unveil: Jadewind is beautiful. I'm still on episode 10.

Same!! I have yet to get through even one episode successfully, when I usually devour historical drama from K and C industries.

Oh, I check your lists and wow, you put To The Moon and Back on-hold. Then maybe you and Thai drama are really not fated. ^^ Maybe you can try different approach, begin with other country adaptation. Thailand makes tons of adaptations, you named any country. Meteor Garden, Fated to Love You, Full House, Missing: The Other Side (which Thai version titled Missing I cw), Nothing but Thirty, ; there's a lot. Or maybe you could just wait for Scarlet Heart Thailand, it looks promising.

That's a really good suggestion! Maybe I should try it that way. I liked To The Moon and Back in general but not enough to complete it. I did like the healthy relationship between the leads though.

I started Pursuit of Jade last night and am on ep 9. It's so fun, a good combination of comedy, action and mystery. I had forgotten how much I enjoy watching Tian Xi Wei (who was in New Life Begins). The ML is Zhang Ling He (who I liked in Our Generation and plan to watch in The Princess Royal).

Happy to hear its good. I love both the leads after Maiden Holmes and New Life Begins. PoJ was on my radar but wasn't sure if it was pure romance which I am kinda staying away from right nbow unless there's other genres mixed in.  Comedy, action and mystery all sound really good, will put it on my PTW.

Just completed Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, without episode 5 (can't find it, will be very grateful if someone share episode 5 with english subtitle). Old drama problem; missing episode, not the first time this happened.

That was one awesome drama that's making me shedding tears. Spanning around 70 years from 1936 to around 2000s(?), it's about people that's connecting and distancing through rakugo (storytelling).

Okada Masaki is one excellent actor, you can tell how lonely his (character) life just by looking at him. Really beautiful and tragic, I feel the heartache. And the OST, similarly sad and touching.

if you are looking for a good historical C-Drama (ongoing) to fill the void I recommed this one. If you like Xianxia with a good plot hopefully this is for you. Please be warned the romance is limited (But the chemistry not) as the MLRen Jia Lundoesn't do kiss scenes after his rl marriage...

Hello, mostly new to MDL and just now found this club and I'm jumping in. Costume dramas are what brought be to asian tv/movies after all.

Currently watching:

Love Beyond the Grave: absolutely loving it

Fate Chooses You: took me until episode 3 but after that I was hooked. Though it kind of irritated me that he erased her memories 😒

Pursuit of Jade: I only watched the first episode and stopped because I want to wait for a least 3 days off to finish it in one go

Within the Grip: which is not bad... I'm entertained so that's all that matters

If there is an airing drama you want to recommend, feel free.

I stalled at EP 20 but I really love the series! I just get kinda antsy halfway through longer dramas and then it's hard to jump back in.

Oh I know that feeling. I hate that feeling too.

I just completed republican drama War of Faith on 24 April for The Historical C-drama Challenge and currently watching episode 16 of Love Game in Eastern Fantasy for Offbeat Watch Challenge. Both recommended in different way as War of Faith is a stressful economic war drama and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy is a hillarious fantasy drama, but they're from 2024.

For the costume dramas airing in the past 4 months, I completed none, but I ptw:

Brothers in Arms (I will wait until it concluded, because I'm afraid the translator will abandon it midway)

How Dare You!? (need to watch 24 episodes of its currently airing donghua S2 before starting the drama)

And I plan to continue Swords into Plowshares, already watched 1 episode, but I wait until it concluded then I can't put it in my schedule (as there's 47 episodes left). Will continue it on July hopefully.

And I'm waiting for Liang Chen Mei Jin (rumored to air on 3 May).

This drama is being subbed by @HPriest which rarely drop their project.

I personally don't start it because I hate to wait episode by episode until the end of year LoL. I still watch the airing one (raw) on NHK World though whenever I have time during the broadcasting time.

Thank you for the information~ ^^

That's true, starting like 1-2 weeks before it concluded seems like a better option.

Raw, woah that's cool. I probably won't understand any sentence.

Haha totally agree with you!! I plan to start watching with sub around October.

It's hard for me also to catch up especially when the actors speak with lower voice. But since the story has many adaptations that I have watched before, it helped a lot to understand. However it is difficult to make myself available during the NHK broadcasting and need to fight with other programs on other channels too. Had already missed several episodes so far.
