Welcome! 🤩🤩

RXinw:
China does not release a lot of series per year (for various reasons I am not going to get into), but the series they do release are of good quality. In my opinion this is a good example of quality over quantity.

I agree ! I should watch more of them

RXinw:
I continue to support the second male lead being endgame!

I'm not watching it but I enjoy reading your posts about it. It must be interesting to have such a strong second male lead it's pretty rare these days (the recent that comes to my mind was played by Dew in Burnout Syndrome).

Portugalia67:
the second couple, that I liked more, had no story development and a maximum of 10 min screen time per ep.

I loved them too and I had too much expectations for them.

I wouldn't call it "too much expectations" because their story was completely left aside and treated as a wallpaper/plotted plant, while they could have had a complete series if the scenario had been around them.

Fully agree with you regarding quality over quantity, however I am not sure if they'll keep this slow pace for long. I may be a bit negative, but unfortunately I see China as the future main provider for BL as soon as they found the market to be financially attractive enough.

I should say I wanted a lot more of screentime for them, they had potential. Maybe some people made fanfics about them from frustration 😆

Does anyone know if ABO Desire is good enough for a watch?

It was not my favorite. Too much SA disguised in love, I didn't like the main couple, and the second couple, that I liked more, had no story development and a maximum of 10 min screen time per ep.

oh, the second couple really has potential. but from what i read, it's the same as in the book (i haven't read the book yet). but i really wished they added more screentime to their story

We all agree they could have done a greater job by giving JiangLi more screentime. I've read somewhere that they signed an official 3-year pairing contract, so hopefully we get to see them again as main lead in their own series soon!

Feel What You Feel ep 7

It's getting really good! When I started the series I wasn't sure I would watch till the end, because I didn't really liked the first ep. Best decision to go further! I have again a second couple syndrome, I like them even more than the main couple :-D Next week is already the last ep unfortunately.

Flower Boy ep 2

I wasn't sure about this one, as I didn't really like Love in the Moonlight, and I was a bit skeptical after the first ep, but ep 2 is getting better, so I'll most probably continue watching it while it's airing.

Gameboys: The Movie

I had watched the series some time ago, but I am just watching the movie which captures the events that took place after season 1 finished. I only have season 2 left to watch now.

WARNING!

This movie has a plot surrounding homophobia and a homophobic family member. It also details attempts of conversion through religious means. Biases against homosexuality are also expressed such as but not limited to, "Your relationship is not going nowhere, you cannot get married..."

If you are considering watching this movie please take seriously the above warning, so as to not trigger yourself. I am going to use the spoiler feature because I am just going to talk freely and not necessarily because I am dropping spoilers, I just cannot bother to be intentional about hiding spoilers that may come out. With all that being said let's get into it.

This movie really delves into the personal struggle of a gay man wanting to be free, but because of family is afraid to come out and live freely. It shows how that fear can manifest from early family interactions and comments family members say recklessly, intentionally or even without much thought. In the movie we observe one of the main leads, Gavreel, having to hide in the closet out of trauma caused by an aunt. When he was a child living with his grandmother the aunt would come around and make comments to the grandmother about how Gavreel acts too feminine and being careful of him turning out gay. She went further with her homophobic agenda by taking him to church one Sunday and having the priest 'pray the gay away'. They told Gavreel that he would go to hell if he turned out gay. The portrayal of this in the movie makes you feel angry, really tying your feelings with the events taking place on screen.

In all this darkness the light of love shines through. The love between the main couple is used as a vehicle to drive home the truths to combat homophobia. Them sticking together and fighting against the aunt reinforces the notion that love conquers all.

If you are not triggered easily by any of the mentioned topics or events I think you should give it a watch.

I am keeping this review short lol I will stand on my soapbox another day.

8/10

It's hard to say. I watched it I liked it but objectively it wasn't really good but I was really curious about how things were going to unfold especially with the potential second couple. I was also curious about that universe

re: abo desire
