K-Drama @Indie Art Girl, sorry, I am unable to quote your post. Using MDL on IPad is NOT fun. Can’t target reply. Can’t quote long posts. Sigh! 😞 Anyway, to answer your comment about Mr. Fanboy episode 7:
The way I see it, I don’t think Third meant to enable Nine. Third is actually a soft person at heart. He has been repeatedly hurt by Nine. He is frustrated and angry. But beneath it all, he is really hurt. What we normally see is Third’s anger and frustration at Nine’s behavior. But he had thought of Nine as a friend and had actually liked him for some time, before his true colors were revealed. That kind of betrayal from some one thinks of as friend and someone one likes is much harder to stomach. He is hurt.
But he hasn’t exposed Nine yet because the part of him that thought of Nine as a friend and had perhaps begun to think of him as something more can’t really bring himself to ruin Nine, even though he has begun to realize that Nine has never cared for Third. Nevertheless, Third is a good, caring person, and it is hard for him to bring someone to ruin like that. Because some part of him is still clinging to that past where he thought of Nine as a friend.
He had deleted the security footage in their school year and he deleted the video now, ‘cause Nine knows Third is a nice guy. Nine knows how to play him. He has always been guilt-tripping Third whenever Third comes to know about Nine’s ugly actions and is about to expose him. In his school situation, Nine guilt tripped by pointing out that Third had the advantage because of his mother who pushed the scholarship through for him. Nine guilts him by saying he has to work hard, but now he will not get that scholarship because Third’s mother got it for him. Then Third feels guilty. Nine’s misdeeds with the exam paper gets conveniently swept under the rug because he knows exactly how to guilt-trip Third.
Now the same thing happened with the situation with the video. Nine doesn’t let Third point out that he is in the wrong. Instead, he guilt-trips Third saying that if he released the video, so many more people will be affected. And Third being the softie that he is, doesn’t want to hurt anybody else in the process. So he just warns Nine to leave Wan alone and deletes the video. Against his better judgement. But this is a pattern. Nine repeatedly guilt-tripping Third. And Third repeatedly succumbing. Even though some part of Third knows that Nine has done this whole thing too often, he still can’t bring himself to act against Nine completely because Third is still holding onto that part of himself that thought Nine was once his friend.
But even though the anger part of him is there, Third is also really hurt. He has never expressed how much he has been hurt by Nine’s actions over the years. So when Wan asks him about how he was feeling, whether he was hurt, Third’s anguish and pent up sadness burst forth as tears. It might even be the first time someone had asked him about how he felt about the whole thing. The fact that he cried with Wan also means he trusts Wan enough that he can open up that part of himself that has never come out for all those years. Wan is sincere. He cares. And Third trusts Wan enough to let the tears and the pain come out.
This is kind of my take on the whole situation. Sorry for the long post!

I think it's from the the reminder of when he said, "We haven't been friends in a long time." I get the feeling that he has given Nine so many chances since the time he deleted that CCTV footage from their HS years, and that Nine has continued to disappoint him time and again. Even their manager was mad at Nine for doing this "again." Nine always excuses his own behavior as surviving and protecting himself no matter how underhanded. You're right that those people who allow it are enablers. Third has witnessed
I see what u mean. I can't help but think Third being that emotional after all this time somehow feels off or isn't adding up in my mind, but I'm easily confused, lol. Maybe we'll learn more next ep! Or I should go back and rewatch as Mr. P plans to do. 😆
p43425:
I'm wondering if Nine could possibly be heading for a redemption arc?
That crossed my mind too, but for now I don't trust Nine yet. He still justified his actions to Third very clearly in their last convo, and didn't sound one bit regretful about what he had done. I'm waiting to see what he does next!
p43425:
I'm also wondering why the episode is entitled "Eye for an Eye" when it wasn't about revenge or retaliation in kind? Maybe a language issue? Or am I missing something?
I also wondered about that and it doesn't make sense once the ep ended. I didn't see that happen, especially when Third prob had a few different options to retaliate against Nine, which is part of the reason I'm confused, lol! The ep title set an expectation...

Anyway, to answer your comment about Mr. Fanboy episode 7:
Ahhh, so Nine is manipulating Third and knows how to push the right buttons. Third has an image of being strong & tough, and even though I can see there is a soft and caring heart, I'm disappointed that Third can be manipulated so easily in the present as an adult (not when they were young) and to me, Third isn't showing enough protectiveness for Wan.
I say that cuz Third didn't seem to have a problem standing up for showing closeness and even wanting to kiss Wan in public. But he comes across as weak in front of Nine, in regards to Wan. He's not saying nothing in Wan's defense, it's just not very impressive so far, or maybe I'll pick up more of it on a rewatch.
I don't know if that makes any sense. Thank you for your input. I guess it's not a black & white situation, haha.
Regarding Mr. Fanboy: Good thing we have Renji-Time, right? They will get done what Third has been unable to/unwilling to do. A excellent pair of mischief makers! I love Renji’s character so far. He’s there to stir thing up and make trouble. Wherever there is something unsavory, there is Renji or Time somehow taking note of it all. I can’t wait to see the grand finale their mischief ends in 🥰
jazme:
it seems we'll give you a hard time to decide, it's mostly different title votes lol
It seems like one title is taking the lead now, so it's getting easier !
jazme:
i have decided to binge watch this, along with ooops mysterious sounds. still have to catch up on you maniac but updated and enjoy the crow club =D
I think Mr. Fanboy can be good both as a weekly watch and as a binge watch !
p43425:
I voted for "Class Crush Crisis" because it's a solid school BL which is cutie-packed and feel-good but mainly because Tiffany wrote "finishing", i.e. I think it's worth finishing what she started.)
I'll definitely finish it, I just have to see when 😆
Indie Art Girl:
Popular Serizawa Acts Weird around Me is almost done. Everyone seems to be enjoying this show so I hope I will too. 😊
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do !
p43425:
I just watched "Silhouette of Your Voice", the 72-minute 2017 movie upon which the 2024 remake series "I Hear The Sunspot" is based. I wasn't expecting much, but I thought it was surprisingly good.
Along with "See Your Love" and "Moonlight Chicken", "I Hear The Sunspot" is one of three excellent BL series of recent years involving deafness. All three are highly recommended.
I remember enjoying it a few years ago. I don't know why I rated it only 7.5 ! I'll rewatch it soon.
I caught up with last week's episodes, and now I'll catch up with this week's episodes, starting with Serizawa. I shouldn't compare them since they're really different, but I feel like my interest in You Maniac is going down as my interest in Mr. Fanboy is going up.
I especially felt it with episode 6 of both titles. I felt a bit bored at times with You Maniac, and I even watched it in 2 sittings, which is rare for me. But I don't mean that I don't like it anymore, just that I'm less interested than before, and I was more interested in Ten and Pun this episode.
I haven't read all your posts about episode 7 of Mr. Fanboy yet, but I'm really curious and wonder if I'll have the same thoughts as everyone once I've watched the episode.
It feels so cold in France compared to South Korea. I'll probably stay in bed today 😆
I need help. I know a few people in this group are also GL watchers. I am watching Khom Khlang and have been waiting to see Boom Raveewit. Did anyone notice him yet? (I wrote a longer post in the GL Drama Lovers Club about it.)
Here’s Boom’s promotional poster for the show, for educational purposes, of course.

@Tiffany
I totally agree about You Maniac vs Mr. Fanboy. Mr. Fanboy was the first show I watched yesterday, and then I watched The Missing Piece, Not Yours, and Police in Love. I still haven’t gotten to You Maniac. I’m enjoying all these shows, but my excitement for You Maniac has decreased over the weeks, whereas Mr. Fanboy is my favorite airing show right now.
I have an hour before I have to get ready for my book club today. I think I will watch The Missing Piece before I go. You Maniac will have to wait for later.
I’m loving The Missing Piece, but it’s a little confusing/hard to keep track of the timeline the way it switches from past to present. I’m sure I could find a timeline on Reddit but I think I will wait until the show ends to look up comments explaining it. I’m always worried I’ll see spoilers.

You both make some good points. Things will undoubtedly become clearer over the next Saturday or two.

I think all together the episode 7 was bit confusing in terms of keeping up with the plot. I agree that Thrid crying at the end didn't fit what had happened. I think generally there is an issue of Thrid enabling Nine's behavior and allowing him to get away with the hurt and damage he causes to other ppl. Nine by now knows that Thrid is more talk with no guts to actually follow trough with his treats. But yeah maybe Renji and Time will do what should have done years ago to stop Nine from continuously hurting other ppl. 😅

Also- has anyone watched Yesterday with FortPeat...? Is it worth a watch? I love the pairing but I didn't really vibe with the other productions they're in, let me know pls!
Sorry for the late answer, this is so far for me the best toxic BL that I have watched during this year. Especially Peat does amazing job at playing someone who is quite honestly psychopath in this one, but let's just say that Fort's character is not exactly innocent in this show either. But it is def. not something everyone will be able to watch and the first 1-3 episodes, you have to really pay attention, bc there are a lot of flashback scenes. My only real minus points for this was that the special episode is like from an alternative universe and felt very out of place considering how dark the main plot got. I have a review of this on my page and it shouldn't have too many spoilers in terms of specific plot points.
Hey everyone 👋 I am new here, and I would love to join 🤭🤣
LOL I have been away so long that it feels like I am indeed new here. I miss you guys 😭 life has been tough, but I survive. I hope you all have been well.
I have not watched a single BL series in more than a month. I am not even aware of what series are airing and trending these days. I am literally out of touch with everything BL. I never would have thought this was even possible.
