I also have Tella's list bookmarked, the one they shared a few days back. I just need the one place where I can track all my gls https://tellasgllist.neocities.org/Genres

Tbh saying that Gagaoolala can be added in version seven sounds like an excuse to me. They know there's a homophobia problem and they're not planning on fixing that, so they tell us to wait until a day that might never even come. How long has version seven been 'being worked on'?
I wish there was a viable MDL alternative out there to switch to. Something that doesn't sell user data to advertisers also. Oh sorry, 'share' user data.
There are alternatives, like serializd, Pillow fort https://www.pillowfort.social/log_in ←i know about this through another user who kind of acts like it's ambassador on here xD. I believe trakt tv also has a bunch of this? Honestly i should just shift to these, i already have serializd. If it weren't for a handful of people in the feeds i would. I sort of fell into my niche here which is also bad because during my time in trakt I watched a lot more spanish gl. Really should shift and pop in occassionally, in fact I'll check out Pillowfort rtnw
I'm also on serialzd (and letterboxd for movies).

Thanks I hadn't heard of serialized! It looks pretty good, but it doesn't allow for comments on drama pages or on individual shows on custom lists, and those are the MDL features I use most, so that's kind of a dealbreaker for me, sadly. I also don't see any forum-like, thread-like, community-like features. There's only reviews. (Edit: found out comments are possible on the mobile app, but that's not for me)
I've heard of pillowfort as a tumblr alternative, not a media tracker. I've never really used tumblr or similar social media, so I don't think I'd use pillowfort either. But if I did use social media like that, pillowfort would be at the top of my list. :)
Trakt won't allow me to see anything but the 'join now' page without an account, so I googled it instead and found that it has enshittified to the point of uselessness, because it no longer allows you to track more than 100 shows without paying a 60 dollar subscription. https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/1i7lrkw/trakttv_just_became_useless_without_a/
Do you have any Spanish GLs to recommend? :)
@Ryn yes, mdl is one of a kind in that aspect that it allows community interaction, this is especially important for me because I don't use other social media for shows and stuff.
I have no idea about pillowfort, I just signed to their joining waitlist to check it out
Trakt also has an unpretty interface, this is ridiculous since they're not offering anything over letterboxd and serializd
And I do! Not spanish but can I recommend a Brazilian show. It's my favourite ever and I never could get my friend to watch it. It's called Stupid Wife and Luiza wakes up with memory loss to find herself married to Valentina, but her amnesia only has those memories of how she hated Valentina! And they have an adorable son. In fact I had Wait on Me as my ringtone for months. It's entirely on YouTube
Amongst spanish shows, Luimelia is a good one. They also have a skam which has more sapphic characters than the other skams. I don't watch a lot of western stuff, romance is never the centre plot and it's more realistic than our thai shows which deliver the fairytales I want to see lol. But Stupid Wife was something of a discovery, it was beautiful
I did watch Stupid Wife actually! The premise was really good and I loved the first episode, but then it got kind of repetitive. It was like Luiza was actively trying to communicate as little as possible so that the misunderstanding could be dragged on.
I'll go check out Luimelia :)
'Juliantina' is the shipname for a wlw pairing in a soap opera called 'Amar A Muerte'. Very dramatic. Guns and mafia. I think their dads body swapped or something. I liked them a lot haha, and it's honestly not that dissimilar from Thai GLs now. Worth a shot? Not the whole show, just a compilation of course. I just googled them and apparently they got their own miniseries spinoff because they were so popular haha. I might just need to go watch that first (edit: nope, with further investigation, the 'spinoff' is just a different cut of the same show)

There was this show, Verdades and I was mislead into watching it because the gl couple isn't end game. It had a straight plot but the main character had a fling i with another sex worker. There was a reason for the break-up but still! the problem might be me, I like my shows in well defined slots perhaps. Anyhow this sort of terminated my exploration into other shows. My first one was actually The Stripper and i couldn't find many like that, just side couples in a larger show. And thank you for the rec! I believe I've seen edits of them and will check then out

Gonna be real, I'm not doing a search for 'the stripper' on YouTube or Google haha. Is it a good show?
But yeah YouTube does have a lot of 'The story of Emma and Lily part 65' -type sapphic edits that are just extremely hard to follow, because it's up to the individual person what they'll include from the larger show and what they leave out. And sometimes parts are missing because YouTube took it down for copyright... It's demotivating. With Thai GL you just hit the 'play' button and don't have to wade through all that.

No no please don't! I'm actually kind of embarassed for bringing it up. It's good in the sense– let me explain it's origins, it's a low cost web series adaptation of camren (Camila and Lauren from fifth harmony). It was originally published on Wattpad itself I think, of was that the translation. The actresses are brilliant, the chemistry sizzling hot but i think it was good only in the way an adolescent might find it to be. Xeque mate is also by the same author, have you seen it?

Exactly! Thai gl has made all these stories so accessible, and the quality is upping every day

The only thing I've heard about this is that the shipping apparently made those two stars uncomfortable, or something? Maybe? Don't remember.

I haven't, but I will search for that title :)

I'm not aware, I'm not a fan, I've just read the book. And listened to Havana of course xD
