AUGUST UPDATE: Bio page bugs are still buggy. Any ETA of patches or fixes?

i miss updating my page, even just for the series i fell in love with. and it's harder for you who really put an effort to update their page each month. i really hope they get to fix this soon, specially it's been 3 months now since they had updated mdl to the new (broken table) version

I managed to add two pics for August but had no desire to do more. Very discouraging. 😔 Hopefully, whoever is designing the software will make a page like so many of create and test the ease and intuitiveness of use.

Hi,

Super cute & fun pf page!

I just want to say I empathize with you! I only use the table tool whenever I really need to, otherwise I avoid it. I don't change anything in my watch challenge charts. Matter of fact I couldn't even fix some of my charts so after making a big mess I just deleted them. Oh well!

Same for my profile page. It's a bare bones design now compared to before the update. I do very little if any changes, and I used to make regular updates and stuff. At least I have peace and no more frustration, lol!

Anyways, best of luck!

A colleague in one of the forums also have problems with tables. I guess I won't be updating my profile anytime soon lol

The tables are a pain, too. I would agree. Nothing is easy with the updates. Concerning that it’s been three months will little improvement.

It's a disaster, I haven't edited my profile for a while and now I wanna cry.....

The table feature doesn't work. I cannot select number of rows/columns, it's always 3x3 inserted and I cannot do anything with it (no idea how to delete a row).

When trying to insert a table into a table there is no way to do it as the tool window pop-up box (toolbar) for table editing covers now (overlaps entirely) the main toolbar at the top of the page, I can't reach any icon there. Even if it were possible to choose number of columns, I wouldn't be able to do so.

For any gif image (inserted in a table, external url) resizing doesn't work either, whether it is resizing by pulling the image or entering percentages both are ignored after saving changes to the profile (see an example in next post below). My bad, I've tried some editing and inserted one new gif image - the action somehow affected other gifs uploaded long time ago, and now all images have random sizes on my profile page. But when I'm back to my settings page, everything looks OK so..... ???

did you saved and they still appeared ok? i'm scared to hit save as what might be seen in the edit mode (broken) might be saved lol. hence i havent updated my profile since this the new mdl big app release

I hit "save".

In the edit mode (on my settings page) after saving the changes all images look like they should (each in desirable size and position).

When returning to my profile page, it's all a mess, the sizes of all gifs are different from what I specified (and saved) in the edit mode, the images are too big/shifted. When going back to edit mode (settings) they all appear ok (not broken).

example

- the edit mode (settings page) [OK]

New Picture (5) setting ok.jpg

- my profile page (public one) [broken]

New Picture (4) profile broken.jpg

aw :( i wonder when they'll fix this :(

Given the profile pages have been a disaster for 5 months there must be a bigger problem lurking behind the scenes. I do wish that they had tested the updates before making them permanent or had the ability to reset to the previous iteration. The current one is untenable and certainly not designed to work with the kind of profile creations we have been used to

It was my experience you cannot update the old pages without problems. I deleted mine and tried using the new updates and they are a nightmare to deal with.

I just want to clear some things up, we understand how important the old editor was to the community.

Unfortunately, our license no longer allows us to offer the old editor for public use. The current editor is built on a completely different system, so the old features cannot simply be added back or copied over.

Although the profile editor was not originally designed for advanced customization, the community found many creative ways to use it over the years. Supporting all of those different uses with the new editor would require rebuilding and testing many features, which is not possible for us at this time.

For now, the current editor is the best option we can provide. If we find a suitable editor with similar features in the future, we will look into replacing it.

That’s disappointing to hear. Because the new editor has some serious bugs. When things like commands are covered by the pop-up boxes, that’s a bad design flaw. Thank you for sharing this information with us so that we are not left in the dark, treading water hoping for a fix. I appreciate the transparency. Hopefully, a more user friendly editor can be found. Thanks again for responding. ❤️

✍️For anyone who has not edited their old page and you like it, my suggestion is to not use any of the new edits, leave it as is. The new edits can’t be used on it without problems. You have to be ready to scrap the whole page and start over with the new editor which is frustrating but doable though I keep my page simple. Good luck! 🫡

Totally understandable. It is a block-based editor rather than an inline editor. It would be best to keep a list of bugs and issues, and we may be able to find ways to fix some of them. There are way too many edge cases for us to test them all.

The most frustrating for me is the pop-up box in front of the commands for inserting a picture or changing fonts. Most times the barest edge for the picture insert icon shows beneath the box and I can eventually click on it. I'll try to do some work on my page and give updates. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for making it easier to understand! I'll be leaving my pfp as is and only be doing one challenge (table) next year until there's a change with the editor tools.

Hopefully it all works out eventually! 😊

- I place the cursor somewhere down the page where I want to insert an image/table

- I scroll back to main toolbar at the top of the page to perform an action

and this is what I can see:

fyfdtddti6t6476dg.jpgwhich is probably the same thing you're talking about (I guess).

The good thing is, a row tool appeared which I couldn't find yesterday. So at least I can now delete/add a row in a table (which is a default 3x3).
