Thai PBS has newly released two early films, The King of White Elephants (1941) and Santi-Vina (1954). The first is English language, the second with English subtitles. Both are also on Film Archive Thailand. Thai PBS streams with higher resolution. Direct links to both sources on the title pages and this list as well.

As chief geek of the Thai Drama Club, I've been updating the club's new Thai PBS list. They've been adding Thai subtitles to many titles and I just started including that in the notes for those who are happy to watch with them or are able to use auto-translation software. This is incomplete - if a title doesn't mention Thai subs, it may just be that I haven't peeked in since I realised the information might be useful to some.

Finding the Last Note is being subbed. Still currently airing but it looks like Eng subs are available about one week later. The female lead is autistic.

Hard Nights is finally fully eng subbed. Episodic slice of life & short stories around a tight-knit group of friends, about being middle-aged and gender diverse/gay.

How to Suffer 101 and Kla Talay are still unsubbed :(

They seem to be working their way through their programming to add Thai subtitles. Those with Thai subs but not English start around 43 on the list.

Biodiversity in Thailand (3 ep documentary) has English subs baked in. No CC button like we're used to looking for. Direct link.

And I think I've dredged up direct links for everything on thaipbs.org and/or vipa.me that has Thai PBS listed as the original network. On the MDL page for those without subs, on both MDL page and the Thai Drama Club list for those with at least Thai subs (or reasonable hopes of them). Some older ones don't seem to be on either thaipbs or vipa, like a 2011 with a young Tae Pitisak in a main role.

Regarding Thai PBS releasing their production on Viu, I found this article (in Thai): https://www.thaipr.net/entertain/3720090

The article details that there is a contract between Thai PBS and Viu to stream Thai PBS productions via Viu, starting with "My Grandpa is a BL Writer". It does not say how many or for how long this contract lasts.

Basically, their express desire is to reach a larger international audience. Viu is a relatively large player in the region "over 66.4 million monthly viewers across Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Hong Kong, as well as Australia and New Zealand" according to the article -- so basically South-East Asia. Which makes sense, I guess, as a first step, since the cultural differences might be smaller and the mutual interest might be higher there than globally; even though it makes it harder for potential viewers in other parts of Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
