Minguo(ROC) Dramas/Film

One of the best. In the list of my ultimate favorite shows. I don't think there might exist a single person that was as obsessed with this show as me. I won't say that this is fully logical, nor would I claim that it was 100% realistic, but it did what ROC shows must do to be my favs. 

So many beautiful memories of me discovering and falling in love with this drama. This introduced me to the ROC era, and became the reason why I love ROC dramas/films so much. My love for this show will never decrease. 

Also, my ultimate favorite romantic storyline. Glad that whoever made this decided to write them like this, make him the ML, and cast them the leads. I never got those who liked the cold, unfeeling and supposed to be a perfect genius SML as the romantic partner. ML was exactly what I want to see FL like her be paired with. I have failed to find a single show with a male lead as good as him and a couple as lovable as them.   

Also, full of strong female characters. It's not just the FL, but all of them. And I love each and every one of them.

This one was not good enough. The costumes were so not it. Nothing like the era it is set in, some straight up looking like modern day clothing. The cinematography and overall production quality was bad too. No harmony of colors, no proper reconstruction. I refuse to believe this director did the wayyyy better 'Bloody Romance'. What stopped him to do that here?

Writing was bad too. FL is supposed to be a genius, the best of them all. Yet what I see is an arrogant and overconfident woman who is given a lot of plot armor. If she was a real person in that time, she would have never been able to work as a spy. A pity since I like ZLY, but she has so many better shows than this. Better watch those. 

The only likeable point was Manna. I found her so much more better than the FL. She was a complex character that deserved a better written and produced show. 

I cannot call this a product of it's time too since 'Battle of Changsha' and 'The Disguiser' were both mind-blowing and well researched/written/produced Minguo shows that were released before this show.
