This ranking is to express my own opinions about my favorite BL series from Japan.
Random Notes:
- It’s amazing that most of these series were filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- There are going to be some light spoilers in the comment sections.

1. Like in the Movies
Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Warning: I’m a little bias because this was my first BL series that I watched. This was a really outstanding series and I loved the script. It gives you the right amount backstory information on the characters for an 8-episode series. The cast was remarkable on portraying their characters. The songs they used were great in setting up the mood. I feel lucky that this was my first BL series. For better or worse, this series set-up my expectations to be very high on what a BL series should be.

2. Gameboys Level-Up Edition
Filipino Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
This was also a great series. The script was very good at tackling some important issues. The cast was great and did an outstanding job. This reedited the YouTube episodes for Netflix which also includes the 13.5 (Alt Gameboys) episode.

3. Boys' Lockdown
Filipino Drama - 2020, 6 episodes
This was such a cute series. The script was good, but had some weak sections. However, they managed to have completely developed character with only 6 episodes. This is one good example how a series does not need 10+ episodes to be good. My only minor complaint was how they ended it. The cast was incredible. A second season was announced in 2021 (LOVE TEAM) but it was cancelled due to funding.

4. Hello Stranger
Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
This was another cute series. The script had a very sweet storyline. All of the actors were incredible. It also had beautiful cinematography and great editing.

5. Gameboys Season 2
Filipino Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
This season was good and had a lot of the same elements that I loved about the first season. I liked the overall story concept and how they addressed LBTQ+ issues. However, there were aspects that felt off. The script had some weak parts to it and it tried to pack in too much for an 8-episode series. This also had an ok ending. The acting and cinematography were good, but there were sections that had poor/shaky camera work.
