  • His Man

    1. His Man

    Korean TV Show - 2022, 11 episodes

    9.5

I really enjoyed this show and thought it was done very well. The production team showed a lot of respect towards the contestants with the exception of the last episode. I thought the final selection mission with the phone numbers was very cruel. The fact that two of the contestants made comments stating this confirmed this.

  • His Man Season 2

    2. His Man Season 2

    Korean TV Show - 2023, 14 episodes

    9.0

Overall, the second season was also good. However, I liked the first season more which seems to be an unpopular opinion. My main complaint with this season was how very obvious the production company purposely tried to create conflict between the contestants, but I liked the final selection mission change from the first season.

  • The Boyfriend

    3. The Boyfriend

    Japanese TV Show - 2024, 10 episodes

    8.5

I also really enjoyed this show because the overall concept was very cool. It was also done very well and showed a lot of respect to the contestants. The coffee truck idea and allowing the contestants leave for work/personal reasons was a refreshing change. My main complaint was the host/commentator aspect of the show which seems a common aspect with Japanese dating series. I was not a fan of this aspect. The host themselves were fine, but felt this was unnecessary. I skipped their sections because I just wanted to watch the events unfolded without other people comments. There was also some questionable editing at times.

  • The Boyfriend Season 2

    4. The Boyfriend Season 2

    Japanese TV Show - 2026, 15 episodes

    8.5

Just like the first season, this was done very well and showed a lot of respect to the contestants. Fortunately, and unfortunately, they kept the same format from last season. For the fortunate aspect, they continued with the coffee truck concept and allowing the contestants leave for work/personal reasons. What was even better was most of the guys lived together for two months. The unfortunate aspect was my main complaint from the last season. I’m not a fan of the host/commentator sections of the show and skipped it. Again, nothing against the hosts but I just wanted to watch the events as they unfolded without a panel making comments. As for the music, there was one song the production team used throughout the show that I hated. It was very annoying and grated on my nerves every time it started to play. Another negative aspect from last season was there was also some questionable editing at times.

  • Boys Like Boys

    5. Boys Like Boys

    Taiwanese TV Show - 2023, 10 episodes

    8.5

This was another show I enjoyed. It had a very similar format as “His Man”, but with a different vibe. It started off really good, but got a little weird by episode 5. The production team tried too hard creating unneeded drama. I was also not a fan of the shady editing. The phone set up also didn’t make sense to me. Why give them cell phones, but then make them call into the guestroom phone? The finally was a little weird too, but it ended on a very uplifting note. I would love to see a new season of this.

  • Sparks Camp

    6. Sparks Camp

    Filipino TV Show - 2023, 8 episodes

    8.5

Overall, this was not a bad show. It was done very well and showed a lot of respect towards the contestants. The one aspect I did not like was the physical games which were unnecessary. It was just an excuse to have the guys take off their shirts. They did a nice job with the final selection episode. However, I do question how much of this was “reality” because all of them were influencers and seemed to know each other before hand. There were also many times things seemed staged and/or scripted. There were some audio problems on the last episode.

  • Sparks Camp Season 2

    7. Sparks Camp Season 2

    Filipino TV Show - 2024, 8 episodes

    5.0

I watched 4 episodes before dropping this. This started off good, but got worse by each episode. Most of the contestants became very unlikable. Once again, the physical gaming aspect was not needed and was just used as a gimmick. I also didn’t like the spark reveal twist that they used. On the positive, it had a more “reality” aspect compared to the first season. There were a few times the production company was not very respectful to the contestant.

  • Bromance

    8. Bromance

    Thai TV Show - 2021, 10 episodes

    4.0

I watched 3 episodes before I dropped it. I didn’t enjoy this series at all. This was basically a gay version of the U.S. show “The Bachelor”. It was like watching a competition instead of a dating show. I also didn’t like the “Dream Guy” because he didn’t seem authentic. It seemed like he was just there as a publicity stunt, not really there to find a date.
