From the very first episodes, the close-up shots were wow — the chemistry between the leads felt natural, warm, and effortless. There were no plot holes, and the FL’s concerns were always valid. The story handled emotional issues maturely, which made everything feel grounded and realistic.

Despite some charming moments, I ultimately couldn’t binge it and decided to drop it around episode 16.

A Heartfelt Journey That Tried to Tell Too Many Stories

Road to Success had all the ingredients to become one of my favorite youth dramas. The first half was engaging, heartfelt, and full of lovable characters, with Esther Yu delivering one of her most mature performances. Unfortunately, the second half became too rushed, trying to juggle sports, healing, romance, mystery, and trauma without giving any of them enough time to fully develop. Despite its flaws, the wonderful cast, meaningful themes, and inspiring journey of the students make it an enjoyable watch, even if it never quite reaches its full potential
