Republican era - five dramas to enjoy

Currently airing but absolutely a must watch drama about the Resistance War against the Japanese, focus on the citizens and soldiers rather than in lone heroes or big generals.

A cinematic experience. Grounded and realistic but also artistic and poetic.

Incredible cast, excellent production and direction.  You´ll hate but also love the incredible bad guys along the journey, and you´ll get attached to the larger than life good guys that help the main lead. 

Set in 1911, in the edge between the end of Qing Dynasty and beginning of the Republic.

Adventure treasure hunting with ideological discussion and crush of times as backdrop - also in the characters. Iconic main character Men San Dao amazingly played by the main lead.

Short drama mix of Agatha Christie with Chinese thriller. First very good production and star-studed cast for this type of format, with social commentary. 

Very fast pace 

Focus on financial aspects of the Revolucionary era and factions . Good depiction of this turbulent chaotic period from a very fresh approach.

Another great villain you'll end up hating and loving at the same time.
