The people that harassed and continue to harass Youngwoo are international fans. Don't rewrite the history that me and many of his fans saw at the peak of his hate train. Massive bl focussed accounts like blupdate2022 on twitter led his hate train on the international side.
International fans are just as toxic as Korean fans. Youngwoo's case proved it to me even more.

He was forced to unfollow everybody, even his brother because as his popularity grew in the past few months and he got almost 1million new followers, people became overly critical about who he was following and were micro analyzing his following list to push a narrative of him being a pervert.
He always followed all his previous romantic interests like Won Taemin from 'you make me dance', Seol inah from 'oasis' and red Velvet's Joy from 'once upon a small town', up until the poin the mass unfollowing occured.
He also followed his family members, classmates from his acting university, his previous co-actors, other BL actors and people from his brother's agency.
The problem came when he also followed influencers (male and female) who were viewed as lowbrow and beneath him by k-netizens. They hyper fixated on the female influencers and idols he was following like Billie tsuki and his other female idols friends he met and became close to at variety shows and award shows.
Mind you he equally followed many male idols too. But when people have a narrative they want to push, they lose all reasoning.
Due to the backlash he got from his following list, he unfollowed everyone in late January, including his brother, his romantic interests and all his friends.
Don't speak on what you aren't sure of. I know it's such an easy thing to do, but spreading misinformation is an unethical act. Do better.

I can't imagine myself going under the comments of someone I dislike to say false things about them. They're free to dislike him, but the act of going to spaces meant for his fans, to say wrong things about him, is what I don't get.

Youngwoo followed and had to unfollow a bunch of people who are popular for their IG reels or skits.
His current account is his same old account that he used before he got popular. Among those people he followed were some girls who do skits but on their page they post pictures with revealing clothing.
Mind you, he didn't like their posts of their revealing clothes and only clicked like on the skits they made and his activity I checked on their accounts was basically what he said too in his apology. But, jobless people went through his following and just saw the fact he was following them and that their accounts had revealing pictures.
The pictures are not even that much provocative stuff, but because some of the girls who makes skits that he followed, also happened to be cam girls outside of Instagram, people made a big deal out of it. The list of the people he was following and had to unfollow is somewhere on k-twt and I'll see if I can find it to link it here, so that people can judge for themselves, what seemingly horrible people he was following
He had to unfollow accounts of both men and women, some comedians, skits makers, influencers, a few rappers and other content creators. Even some male and female idols he's friends with.
Now, he only follows his school friends, his brother, other celebrities/actors like his co-stars or directors and entertainment companies he's acted Kdramas under.
Unfortunately, being a Korean celebrity means whatever you do is micro analyzed and put under an unrealistic standard.
He followed equally as much men as women he followed, but people are trying to paint him as some perverted man who sexualizes women.

I just rewatched this kdrama after 4 years, and this was the best birthday gift I could have ever given to myself. I updated my previous 9.5 rating from 4 years ago to a solid 10.

I'm gay, and not simply a bl fan. All actors use their first roles to boost their careers. Be it gay or not. He acted in ymmd when it wasn't even the height of the popularity of kbls. Pre-semantic error era. So why do you assume he specifically acted in a bl role simply to gain popularity.
Choo youngwoo is a graduate from a prestigious acting university. He's not some influencer or model that acted in a bl for clout. He's a trained and educated actor, who accepted an acting role, just like any other.
